Yes Burns, Bush won the second time. What is your point? No one is even talking about that anymore... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No one is talking about this? It's a 1 yr anniversary of the triumph of freedom. What is wrong with that? Or is history only okay when it results in American envoy Donald Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam 23 yrs ago - the only thing that matters?

Montgomery Burns replied to theloniusfleabag's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Typical leftie rebuttal; change the subject. Hardly, you can't be self righteous about 'helping' the Iraqi people right now without answering that obvious question. In any case, the best thing the US could do right now for the Iraqis would be to pull all of its troops out and close any permanent bases. If the Iraqis want to have their civil war then let them. However, I suspect that things would get quite civilized quite fast as soon as the invaders have left the country. But we know that won't happen because Bush does not want a free and democratic Iraq unless the democracy produces results that Bush wants. I don't really call that freedom. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is frightening, truly frightening, to think of what would happen to Iraq if Sparhawk had his way. Man, the far left is SCARY. -
The White House cabal
Montgomery Burns replied to Black Dog's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
George Packer asks the question "Why did the US invade Iraq?" and pretends not to know the answer. It is widely known that officials in the Bush administration have always been in support of enforcing the 12 years of broken ceasefires and 17 broken UN resolutions. Yep. That weak-kneed pacifist Condi Rice. Nice to see the State Dep't girlie boys get their panties in a bunch. American diplomats have forgotten that they serve US interests in general and the President in particular. Good...it's about time. And as a result, we have voting and freedom in parts of the Middle East (Iraq and Afghanistan) unparralled in history...with the very real prospect that the freedoms wil take firm root there, thrive, prosper, and become strong enough to stand on their own. If that's this particular individual's idea of "sh*t" (with all due respect to the Colonel)...well then, pile on the manure. Another leftwing weenie who wants to blame America for daring to show up the rest of the world.. It does get old. *yawn* But thanks again to BD for posting this. -
Martin to press Rice on guns
Montgomery Burns replied to Leafless's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Yaro: I hope I won't be seeing any "No Blood for Oil" posts from you, then. If you were aware of world affairs, you might wonder where is Canada's Intel? Where is Canada's Microsoft? Where is it's IBM? It's Dell? It's Applied Material? It's WalMart? Unless you're talking about Tim Horton's and Canadian Tire... I will ignore your childish insult and ignore your "the US is collapsing" meme. I've been listening to that for years and yet the US continues to put more and more distance between Canada and Europe. I usually choose to ignore knee-jerk anti-Americanism - which is actually little more than insane jealousy - from Canadians. Your claim of investing millions in US housing sounds like a nice fantasy, but you should have went for a homerun; you should've claimed you would invest BILLIONS in US housing. Ahhh. Attack the "mishmash set of paragraph displays" and ignore the substance. I anxiously await your reply to what I wrote that was incorrect. Typical of the smug Canadian. Deny deny deny the lack of freedoms in this country. You don't even have the option of your own healthcare in this country. A ruling by leftwing Democrat judges. Rumsfeld shook Saddam's hand 23 yrs ago!! The US trained the Taliban in the 80s (let's ignore the fact that the Taliban didn't come into existence until the mid 90s). Nay. Canadian arrogance? Aye. Just once. Just once I would like to see a Canadian argue against the US with resorting to ad hom attacks. Maybe sometime in my lifetime this will happen, but I'm not getting my hopes up. More immature insults. That's 3 in one post. You trying to be the champ? Typical Canadian leftie. Iran calls for the extermination of Israel and the response from the Candian left is: US bad. Softwood lumber. Bad bad bad. Kinda reminds of when Bush gave that important speech about fighting Islamic Nazism and then 2 days later PMPM announces his most important issue: The changing of the 2000 y/o definition of marriage. That was so embarrassin and once agains made Canada look like a joke in the eyes of the international community. I'm constantly amazed at how Canadians gleefully accept the WTO's findings that the Canada is a better country than the US when it comes to "quality of life", but when the WTO rules against Canada, you must ignore the WTO's findings. Four ad hom attacks in one post. Yaro really wants to be the champion. I'm trying Greg. I didn't reply to any of the 4 insults by Yaro. Indeed, I find it amusing. When one has no intellectual argument, one resorts to ad hom attacks. -
Martin to press Rice on guns

Here's something for Shakeyhands and PR to munch on: Globe & Mail: PMPM Pulled Anti-Gun Stats From "Thin Air" I know it's very important to blame guns and to demonize America, but the Liberal Party really need to invest in a better Ministry of Lies and Propaganda. I wonder what the trolls on this board will have to say about this. -
...the radical left. Special thanks to the Clintons, Michael Moore, Canada's Liberal Party, Sean Penn, Barbra Streisand, Rosie O’Donnell, Alec Baldwin, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Osama bin Laden, hip-hop stars like P. Diddy who worked tirelessly to *wink* “get the vote out” *wink*, terrorists, the NY Times, the CBC, the BBC, and nearly all of the other MSM (with the exception of the credible Fox News), France, Germany, naive young college kids across the US and the world, Canadian liberals, and the many, many others who helped America figure out who to vote for and to get the conservative vote out and helped the Republicans sweep into elections in historic numbers (a record 62 million votes!). Bush won, no matter how you count it. In spite of the liberal media onslaught, Bush won. Not only that, but in terms of percentage of the popular vote, he got more than the “wildly popular” Bill Clinton got in either of his 2 elections--Clinton never ever got 51%; never even got 50%. George Bush did. Despite the media (who Newsweek's editor Evan Thomas said would be good for 15 points for the Donks), Hollywood, academia, Soros--the conservatives won. The conservatives, who ran on a platform of rightwing conservative values. Conservatives who proudly denounced the millions of innocent babies being slaughtered every year (the "right to choose"), and gay marriage. Conservatives who proudly campaigned on the decision to go to war against terrorism and tyranny in Iraq and elsewhere. The Republicans increased their numbers in the Senate. They increased their numbers in the House of Representatives. In the 11 states in which voters voted on it, they overwhelmingly rejected "gay marriage". In every state in which citizens voted (Americans get to do this, unlike Canadians), it was massively rejected, even in true-blue states like California and Oregon. In Mississippi, 88% voted against it. 88%--that’s nearly everybody. Values won. Moral values won, as well as freedom and democracy. Those who will learn from it won as well as those who rely on America. Canada won. The West won, even the EUrinal/EUtopia (Europe). The Dow went up 135 upon the announcement of Bush being re-elected. Osama bin Laden lost. Saddam Hussein lost. Terrorism lost. Michael Moore lost. Hollywood lost. The liberal media lost. University professors and leftist school teachers lost. The liberals lost. Let's all celebrate this anniversary. Let's all celebrate that the leader of the free world is a moral just man whose goal is to spread democracy throughtout the world. The 50 million Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan thank President Bush for liberating them from a lifetime of leftwing tyranny. I have my doubts that it wilkl happen, but wouldn't it be cool if the Mayor of Baghdad made good on his claim to erect a Geroge Bush statue in place of the fallen Saddam statue. I'd LOVE to see that, if only to see liberal heads exploding worldwide. Thank God (sorry for the cuss word liberals) that there are still men like George Bush in this world. What a difference between Bush and the greedy grubbing bloodmoney-off-the-backs-of-the-Iraqis Jean Chretien and Paul "we lead the world" Martin. (Get real Paul!) Sometimes I am embarrassed to admit that I am Canadian. What the hell ever happened to this country? From a respected country, Canada has become the laughing stock of the industrial world.

Like the CBC refusing to report that 11 Cuban choir singers defected in Canada (it makes their beloved Castro look bad; the guy who claims that Cubans have the best healthcare and highest rate of literacy in the Western Hemisphere - Castro says so, ergo it must be true ); like the MSM media has virtually ignored the beheadings of Thai Buddhists at the hands of "insurgents/militants/guerillas/activists/freedom fighters/minute men", this is the 6th day of rioting by Muslims in Paris, France: Paris Intifada continues Religion of Peace, my ass. Come on Dubya. Quite being Mr Nice Guy. Lay it on the line. It is not a religion of peace; it is a religion of communists.

And what part of the text of the Constitution do you suggest that they want to stick to. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The written parts. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How dare you? How DARE you suggest that a judge interpret the Constitution of the American founding fathers? Don't you know that the Supreme Court is to be filled with leftwing activists who claim that there is a "seperation" between Church and State? Don't you know that the founding fathers approved of nearly 1 million innocent American babies to be slaughtered every year because of the "right to choose"? Don't you know that the founding fathers wanted to change a 2000 year definition of marriage? Don't you know this?! Haven't you been reading the NY Times?! -
The film Dead Meat is now available for the public to watch. The film is about Canada's disasterous abused socialist healthcare system: "I have the flu; I scraped my knee; I will go to the doctor; it is, after all, "free"." When you have finished watching this film several images will remain with you for some time to come. A woman who spent 2 years waiting for knee surgery and innocently asks the American filmmakers whether the waiting lists are as long in the US as they are in Canada. The moment when she begins to grasp that a healthcare waiting list is a concept alien to most sick Americans is something that cannot be explained. More stories follow of addiction to pain killers brought on by wait times, of the suffering families go through, of men and women calmly contemplating death for ailments which medical science long ago conquered, but which government control has placed out of reach. You will learn why there are literally busloads of Canadians flocking across the US border on a near daily basis for healthcare - and why virtually no Americans flock to Canada for healthcare. You will learn how Canada spends less on healthcare than the US by arbitrarily controlling the costs limiting the number and availability of doctors, specialists, operating room hours, high-tech equipment, diagnostic tests, drugs and expensive treatments. To wit, the govt limits the supply of health care in order to hold costs down. The result: shortages, rationing, and long wait lists - and death. Don't ever forget that every credible historian puts the number of dead innocents - in the 20th century - at the hands of far-left policies at a bare minimum of 100 million people. You will learn that the mortality ratio in Canada for breast cancer is 12% higher in Canada than in the US. You will learn that the prostrate cancer mortality rate in Canada is 32% higher than in the US. You will learn that many Canadians who have never been really sick are supportive of their system. You will learn how the Canadian system caters to the healthy majority with free primary care doctor appointments, flu shots, etc. while depriving the truly sick - often the elderly - of timely medical treatment that is often more expensive. Political expediency dictates that health care dollars are spent where the votes are: the healthy majority - while across Canada, hundreds of thousands of sick and disabled people quietly languish in pain in their homes on long waiting lists for treatment while being told that to question the moral supremacy of their health care system is somehow "Un-Canadian". I think that most honest Canadians will admit this. I think every Canadian knows someone who has died from the lack of Canadian healthcare, or at the very least, have had to go to the USA to be healed--all the while spending Canadian money in the US. My aunt got a call from the hospital informing her that after a year and a half of being on a waiting list, her dad was next to be operated on. Trouble is that my aunt's dad died 5 months earlier from the complications of his illness. You will learn that Canada is 1 of only 3 countries on the entire planet that makes private healthcare ILLEGAL. Cuba and North Korea are the other 2 countries. No freedom of choice for Canadians. (I'm sure that PR will drop in to smugly mock America's freedoms) Idealogy over freedom always comes first when it comes to the far left. Remember, my American friends: The Hildebeest wants this frighteningly murderous socialist healhcare system for you! Watch this film now! And don't ever forget Hillary's infamous statement at a Democrat fund-raiser in San Francisco on June 28, 2004: "The [bush] tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good".

Montgomery Burns replied to Bakunin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I found it embarrassing, until Kimmy claimed that it was a roast (her link was registration only - and I was too lazy to use BugmeNot to get around the registration). I'll take her word for it when she said it was the same event where they used self-deprecating humor to mock themselves. I never knew that Layton could be so funny. I, grudgingly, have to give him credit for that. -
Did anyone see Chretien's reply? How embarrassing. This clown continues to embarrass Canadians every time he opens his mouth. I know that all reasonable Canadians cringed whenever this doofus opened his mouth (a toof is a toof is a toof). He actually had the unmitigated gall to change the subject from his crooked dealings to questions about who is the "money" behind Stephen Harper. Then this disgusting man brought up that if he had sent troops to Iraq (like his neighbor did), they would be coming home in bodybags. Typical of the leftwing liberals. They know their brainwashed (by the state-run, taxpayer-funded, Soviet-style CBC) Canadian sheep. Chretien was an embarrassment to Canada. Because of his insatiable greed for Saddam's blood money (off the bodies of dead Iraqis), Canada is now recognized as as an immoral greedy nation who doesn't give a damn about democracy. It is Chretien's despicable behaviour that has forced Canadians to sew American flags on their luggage when they travel abroad - for fear of being known as one of those greedy blood money-grubbing Canadians who put Iraq's oil over morality and the enforcement of law.

Canada criticized for failing its poor
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Gotcha. Rightwingers are just too goshdarned stupid and simple to understand that leftwing "nuance". Some right-wingers are wealthy and don't want anyone else to get a slice of their pie, and a large percentage of the rest are "goshdarned stupid". It would appear from your posts that you fit into the latter category.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not taking your bait. I'm not going to reply to your insults. The administrator has asked me to ignore the constant insults I receive from the far left on this forum; rise above the trolls. But tell me one thing. Why shouldn't I (who am comfortable, but hardly wealthy) want anyone to get a slice of the pie that I worked my fingers to the bone to receive? The first year I started my business, I worked a good 70 hrs/wk. Why should I give my hard-earned dollars to the drunk Indians who constantly try to shake me down for money when I go downtown? Why do you want to penalize me for busting my butt - and taking a financial risk - to create a good company that provides a good service with fair prices, and hires employees (how I wish I was a Crown Corporation that had no competition)? As that old song goes: Get a J-O-B. Na na na na na na na. I prefer to offer charity of my own accord. I dislike being forced to give up the money I worked hard for. I'm tired of paying for the socialist sh*t-sucking anal leeches. -
Is this the same Chavez that the left threw a hysterical hissy-fit when Pat Robertson suggested he should be assassinated? If only the left could direct 1/10th of their outrage towards their bretheren who constantly call for Bush's assassination. But, of course, calling for Bush's assassination is okay; it's "free speech" and the neocons of the Secret Service who investigate these calls for Bush's assassination are nothing but jackbooted fascists. Right?

Hey, PR, we can go to the Oscar after party together!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And party with Michael Moore after the show. Americans watching Canadian shows?
Montgomery Burns replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I'm not so sure that Canadians agree that Canada puts out great TV programs. The last ratings I saw - about a month ago - had only 2 Canadian shows in the Top 20; Corner Gas and the CTV National News. Indeed, for months and months I have only seen the same Canadian 2 shows in the Top 20, although I suspect that Hockey Night in Canada will make the Top 20 now that the strike is over. All the other shows in the Top 20 were American. Personally, I like Trailer Park Boys the best. The show is very different and has funny loveable losers for characters. -
You've got to be kidding me. After months and months of the liberal media trying to supress the Adscam Scandal, and referring to the problems of the "federal govt" (they rarely use the words Liberal Party), and you believe that Martin is exonerated? Think about who was Fianance Minister while this was going down If Martin isn’t crooked, he must be pretty stupid to have missed all this money going out with little or no return. Either way he is a screw-up. The Gomery Inquiry took place only because Allan Cutler blew the whistle on improper contracts being pushed through Public Works by who? Paul Martin and the Finance Dept. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As I said: "this still doesn't mean the Conservative Alliance will back down, why would they let a little thing like truth get in the way of their mad lust for power?" Give it up, you lost, now deal with it like a man. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't get it. Read my above quote again - carefully. I'm constantly amazed at how the left always sticks up for its crooks. Chretien, Martin, Clinton, etc.

But he supports it. Somthing the public does NOT support. Why do you think the Canadian left breaks into hysteria at the very mention of a referendum? They know how the people voted in 11 American states on Nov 2/2004. Bull. There are people all over the world embracing and devouring American culture. Indeed, people are clamoring to live in the US. Your claim that the Liberal Party position is not anti-Americanism is sheer insanity. Please tell us about the former Canadian govts that imported prostitutes and exotic dancers to Canada. Enquiring minds want to know. Another over-the-top claim. ALL American presidents smoked pot? Provide a source for your wild claim. Govts are supposed to be "for the people"? Maybe so. I hear that all you have to do to collect welfare in my province is phone a govt agency and tell them you need welfare. Apparently, they send you the money as soon as you are done the telephone interview. Govt: it's for the people. You are correct. The govt-run taxpayer-funded, union govt worker controlled socialist healthcare system is anti-family. Ditto for gay "marriage". Be calm and they won't hurt you. -

PocketRocket: What do you mean out of context? You stated that Iraq was no threat to the USA - at least militarily. Apparently in your view, sponsoring terrorism is A-OK. You can rant about "more obfuscation" all you want, but it does not change what you wrote. This statement sums up the morals of the far left: The US and the UK are bad because the dictators of the world said so! Reminds of your previous claims that the US enforced the UN resolutions "illegally" because they didn't get France's permission. You guessed correctly. Thugs, dictators and despots should not have a world platform to speak from. Translation: You got me so I don't want to play anymore. What are you talking about? Are you accusing the Republicans of exploiting the dead? You don't even make sense. Please try to in the future. -

That's what I like about professional comedians. They can sense when the line they used was only mildly amusing and don't use it twice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you ignore him, hopefully he will go back to where he came from - the Democratic Underground.
