  1. Argus: BBC quotes Jean-Pierre Aussant in France's Figaro: And Philippe Grangereau in France's Liberation: Yeah, I know you detest Bush, but we've been through that many times before... BBC quotes France's Liberation: And from France's Le Progres: Rather arrogant considering France lost 15,000 people during nature's fury (a so-called heatwave) in the summer of 2003. I wonder how that crow tastes. Does the pollution caused by all these car torchings (over 21,000 since the start of 2005) count towards France’s Kyoto fume allowance? Or is only industrial pollution measured?
  2. He is on trial for his crimes, (and a plea has been made for him to be released to seek cancer treatment) which would make it very difficult for him to show up for some right-wing nut's interview). So I would suggest that no, there isn't a hint of truth to the interview ever taking place. http://www.trial-ch.org/trialwatch/profile...facts/p147.html http://www.trial-ch.org/trialwatch/profile.../facts/p63.html <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It might help if you would link to Ali Ibrahim Al-Tikriti, instead of Barzan Ibrahim Hassan al-Tikriti. Now really. What part of Ali being born in 1942 and Barzan being born in 1951 led you to conclude they were the same person? There is NO reference - in your link - to Barzan being referred to as the Butcher of Basra. Ali defected from Iraq and Barzan was captured by US forces in April 2003 in Iraq. They don't even have the same name! Yet you conclude that Front Page Magazine just made this interview up. Now for the $64 question: Who is the real wingnut?
  3. Yodeler: Mark Steyn says the same thing in his column today: Mark Steyn in Chicago Sun-Times: Wake up Europe, you've got a war on your hands Yodeler: True I agree somewhat (how many Arabs work in the Mid East oil fields?), but I am not sure that you can say this about the entire male population. I believe that there are Arab men who do have a work ethic. Just going by what I read in the Iraqi blogs...
  4. Put Joe Wilson under oath... After all, we know - though the liberal media rarely brings this up - that the Senate Intelligence Committee unanimously found that Wilson lied when he said Dick Cheney had sent him on the mission, lied when he denied his wife had recommended him for it and lied when he said he'd found no evidence Saddam had tried to buy uranium from Niger.
  5. WorldNetDaily: Analyst says Joe Wilson 'outed' wife in 2002, disclosed in casual conversations a year before Robert Novak column Joe Wilson suing WorldNetDaily and Vallely for slander: But Vallely doesn't seem to be too worried: Put under oath. I'd love to see that. Hehe. More and more people come out to support Vallely's claim, including Victor Davis Hanson
  6. I think you flunked kindergarten. How can you have contempt for the Bush administration and not have contempt for the people who voted for him?
  7. err: Change the subject from Liberal Party corruption to Liberal Lite ("Progressive" Conservative Party) corruption and change the $250 million dollar Liberal scandal (the biggest in Canadian political history) to $100 million. Typical revisionist (polite way of saying "lie") history by the left. All those rightwingers on the CBC...like Rex Murphy and and and...??? The typical panel on CBC is 4 liberals and 0 conservatives, or if they are in an especially generous mood, 3 liberals and 1 conservative (and the moderator is always liberal). The CBC derides democracies (or republics) like the USA and Israel, while being sympathetic to the displaced Arabs, to the point of their moderator on the CBC forums deleting the word "terrorist" when one complains about the displaced Arabs blowing up another busload of Israeli women and children. They play Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine, it seems, at least once a week. Ha ha. Let's all laugh at those stupid Americans (who by the sheerest of coincidence, dominate the world financially, culturally, and militarily). Look at how many times the CBC has attacked the Fox News Channel since the Liberal party lifted its 5 year ban off the FNC. It's petty and smacks of a bunch of socialists whining about a channel that allows conservatives to have their say. Can't have that! Oh good grief. I posted on the CBC lockout thread about the mindset of the CBC when I saw the entries from their CBCUnlocked website when they were on strike. Links to Michael Moore, Ted Rall (who last week wrote an article saying that Bush is WORSE than Hitler), and gleeful proclamations that Kanye West "said what we all knew was true; George Bush hates black people!"...and complaints that the CBC management was trying to implement a bizarre NEOCON agenda to the poor poor leeches who suck money from the Canadian taxpayers. The CBC is an ultra-leftwing news source and is an embarrassment. It is a Soviet-style news station run by the state. Eg, the CBC has archived all the Coach's Corner segments...except for one; the one where Don Cherry said he supported the US and was embarrassed that Canada turned its back on the Iraqi people. That Coach's Corner is "mysteriously" missing. However, I'm not really surprised. Free speech is the greatest threat to the left, specifically the far left.
  8. I, like most Canadians, like the American people that I know... I've spent a lot of time in the USA and found most of the people I've met to be very nice, welcoming, etc.... I also share many Canadians' negative feelings about the Bush administration. Just because we don't like the administration doesn't mean that we don't like Americans.... And conversely, just because the like the citizens, doesn't mean that we have to like the administration.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You contradict yourself. You say you like the American people but dislike the Bush administration that the American people elected into power--twice.
  9. Rioting "youths" (not Muslims) *wink wink* shoot 10 policeman, 2 seriously injured. Since this is an article from ABC, the word Muslim is, of course, absent.
  10. Maria Cantwell is a Democrat senator from Washington State. Everyone knows that Washington is an ultra-liberal state. But what about the caribou?! *wrings hands emotionally* And why the hell is the Liberal govt sticking their noses in US sovereignty? Is there no end to the insufferable arrogance of this Party?
  11. Yes Burns, Bush won the second time. What is your point? No one is even talking about that anymore... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was the 1 year anniversary of Bush's re-election where he won despite an all out assault on him by the liberal media, and where he garnered more votes than any prez in US history. No one is talking about that anymore?! Surely you jest. The Democrats are still spinning conspiracy theories about Diebold voting machines.
  12. Globe and Mail reports new poll: Conservatives 31%, Liberals 28% 60% said they don’t believe PMPM’s contention that he was not involved in the scandal, while only 33% do believe him. Moreover, 62% of those surveyed said Mr. Martin’s apologies for the scandal are a desperate effort to stay in office. Only 22% believed the Liberal Party is beginning to accept responsibility for the program’s abuses. I realize it is only a poll, but nevertheless, it appears that the Liberals lead has vanished. In other news, Scott Brison eats crow: Good of him to apologize, but why wasn't it a public apology, especially after he went public with his lies? And probably the funniest thing I've read all week, courtesy of the Liberal Party website:
  13. An amazing interview with the former Butcher of Basra It's a quick read but fascinating. Ali Ibrahim Al-Tikriti discusses how Saddam admired Joseph Stalin and his terror tactics against the Russian people. He also admired Hitler too. He discusses how they were trained to believe in only the greater good and individuals were not important. He discusses the mass graves all over Iraq. He also states that "If those who opposed the war really knew what happened in Iraq and who and what they were supporting they would never go to the streets with a sign protesting what President George W. Bush has done." He also claims he has no doubt where Saddam's WMD are...which will be no surprise to the informed.
  14. Do the words barrios, ghetto and the projects ring a bell? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep/ Reminds me of Canada. EVen ignoring the cities, just drive through an Indian reserve sometimes. You'll have a better understanding then. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kinda like how African Americans in the deep south are treated. And oh, U.S. also has Indian reservations. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really? African Americans are treated like that? Wow. Where ever would I be without the wisdom of newbie? And yes there are reservations in the US but they are not as run down as here, nor are they as isolated as in Canada. With the rampant grinding poverty of Canadian aboriginals, you sound like a hypocrite trying to attack the US. Especially when 2 out of 3 African Americans are middle class. Canada's aboriginals can't make that claim.
  15. I understand that it is very difficult to fire someone in France. It is not a very business-friendly place. Additionally they get 11 statutory holidays per year, plus 5 or 6 weeks vacation per year. Just think how costly that is for an employer.
  16. Argus: NY Sun editorial: Now, I don't believe that this was the only reason (oil, nuclear reactor and massive arms sales were unquestionably factors too), but it was certainly one of the reasons.
  17. Regarding #3:It's Sarkozy's fault! Only in France would they call this the "ideas of the far-right". Regarding #1 and #2: Really? This must be something new that just popped up. It's not like they have been warned for years about massive multi-culturalism, little or no attempt to assimilate these immigrants, a high unemployment rate, and a generous welfare system that basically insures they will stay unemployed. The guy trying to stop the riots is a "cowboy" and the people who are rioting are appeased with the same old cliches that got them in this situation in the first place. And Sarkozy has committed the unforgiveable sin of not being politically correct by calling the rioters just what they are: "scum" and "riffraff". He's not been forceful enough "when dealing with other ministers?!" Good grief! Have the French lost all touch with reality?! I think it’s time for the UN to take the lead here. They should step in and act decisively, by voting to condemn Israel for these riots!
  18. You're a brave person for having the courage to go in the fever swamp of the far left. I was there once. I got banned from the DU for saying 1 word. What was the word that got me banned? The word was "why". What was I replying to? A thread about how America should have socialist healthcare. One word and bang, I was booted out of the ever-tolerant DU.
  19. CBC had several stories about this starting with the dayit happened. You are not really qualified to comment about what CBC covers and does not cover because you don't listen to or watch it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did watch the CBC the day that CTV reported the Cuban defection from the Communist Utopia of Cuba. I saw nothing on the CBC News. It took them days to report it.
  20. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cuban choir members defect over the weekend (Oct 22 and 23) Darn it! I had to go and ruin a good discussion with those pesky facts.
  21. Do the words barrios, ghetto and the projects ring a bell? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep/ Reminds me of Canada. EVen ignoring the cities, just drive through an Indian reserve sometimes. You'll have a better understanding then.
  22. Black Dog: Nonsense. I know a few people from Russia and the Ukraine; they are quite religious. Communism, Nazism, both murderous leftwing ideologies. Once again BD gets whacked with the Clue Bat. After 6 days, they have started to finally report the "youths" rioting in France. Bout time.
  23. Grim milestone of 1000 passes in France After days of ignoring the European Intifada, the MSM reluctantly has started to report this shocking news--although they continue to refer to the rioters as "youths". The M word is mysteriously absent from most reports as Day 10 passes in France. From Sweden: More from France: From Belgium: Day 5 of rioting by "youths" in Denmark: Anxiously awaiting for the first person to blame this on President Bush.... 5...4...3...2...1...
  24. crazymf: You you Islamophobe!! Dont't you know? Haven't you got the memo? It's all (sursprise) George Bush's fault!! If only George Bush hadn't dared to respond to 30 yrs of radical Islamic terror... Let's all hold hands together and sing Kumbaya; Everything will be alright. If the West would just appease the radical jihadists, then they will leave us alone...
  25. A Marxist hypocrite? I'm shocked; shocked I tell you! Yeah right. Typical of the far left. Hypocritical sacks of crap.
