  1. Do any of your links mention that 7000 Quebec daycare workers went on strike the first year and held up the taxpayers for a huge pay raise?
  2. I saw Patrick Basham on TV today. Regarding the op-ed he wrote for the Washington Times, he said he had received good feedback from Canadian leftwingers and negative feedback from Canadian rightwingers.
  3. The last paragraph of a Toronto Star article from yesterday: Harper said no such thing; he said he would hold a free vote (yeah, I know that isn't very liberal of Harper). The Toronto Star got this from the Canadian Press. To give the Toronto Star the benefit of the doubt, it could have an honest mistake--which would result in a correction, right? Today's TS correction page mentioned nothing about this lie. It's so frustrating that they get away with these lies. It's going to be the same BS as the June 2004 election and the same BS as the 2004 US election. Charles Bird is a lobbyist for Bell Globemedia--which owns the G&M and CTV--and is the Ontario campaign chairman for the federal Liberal Party. We all know that the CBC hates conservatives with a purple passion. Remember all the loony stuff they had on their CBCunlocked website? If you worked for the CBC, wouldn't you be leery about reporting something that put the Liberals in a bad light--knowing that you might screw up your chance to become Governor General? Same with the liberal MSM in the USA; Paul Begala and James Carville were hosting CNN's Crossfire while they were campaign advisors to John Kerry--a blatant blatant conflict of interest. It make me want to drown my sorrows in beer and popcorn.
  4. Of course you do: you're a monomaniac. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Deleted...as I decided not to take the troll bait.
  5. Except when it comes to beating civilian Somali teenagers to death...
  6. Thanks for letting us know what you think about Canadian parents--which apparently is not too much.
  7. Pharmer: Is the CP allowing the individual to do what they want with their own money? Yes. Of course it will. It includes ALL Canadians with pre-school children. I'm not sure what you mean by "once?" You would get $1200 annually for each pre-school child under the Conservative Party plan. Oh brother. I'm not sure about Norway, but that statement will make Canadians laugh. Govt here can't hold a candle to private business. Unionized govt daycare workers with generous benefits going on strike at the drop of a hat...like Canada needs more of that! Plus, like August1991 said, there is the social aspect of having the govt raise your child. Do you really think your child should be subjected to liberal indoctrination? Canadians are already relentlessly indoctrinated by our mainstream media (MSM) in liberalism; anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-Christianity, anti-capitalism, pro-UN, etc.
  8. Sometimes I wonder if Black Dog is channeling the loathsome Ted Rall, who stated in his latest column: Poorly paid contract killers who should desert the military? How nice of Rall. But don't you dare question the left's patriotism! And this clown is still whining about Bush not being elected. Get over your 2 losses already, you idiot.
  9. The Sunday Times reports: I'm not sure how accurate this is, as the article quotes many "sources" (shades of Seymour Hersh). Not to mention Ahmadinejad's recent threats to wipe Israel off the map. The Sunday Times speculates: Poor France had to say buh-bye to the Osirak reactor they built and sold to Saddam. Is Russia an ally? They seem to be bringing this to a head while US troops are literally next door to Iran. Another Cold War? Perhaps Bush should reconsider his "I looked into his [Putin] soul" remark. Iran is not pleased: Oh boy. What if Israel is unsuccessful in their mission? Iran will likely counter with nukes. They could possibly wipe a tiny country like Israel off the map. Will Israel counter Iran's nuclear strike with their own nukes? Although never having admitted it, Israel is strongly suspected of having nukes. How will the Iranian people react? I know that the general population is pro-American and despises the Mad Mullahs, but what are their feelings towards Israel? Godspeed Israel. I wish you luck. I can't magine what it would be like to be surrounded by countries who desire nothing but your total destruction. Your very existence may rely on this mission being completed 100% successfully. Don't worry about the condemnation of the UN and Europe--both hate you with a purple passion already. Remember that you have a friend in President Bush--who refused to meet Yassir Arafat, unlike a certain other president who invited Arafat to the White House 14 times (more than any other foreign leader)--and the USA. Read the whole article. It's 2 pages but a fairly quick read.
  10. Why do you insist on punishing people who you perceive as having money? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just got back from a beer and popcorn run... ...and to answer your question: Leftist ideology is about unrelenting class warfare.
  11. If true (this is the Guardian), it is just another example of what a loathsome man Clinton is. Like Jimmy Carter, he continues to attack a sitting president, which is a no-no for former presidents. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, like Bush Sr. and Nixon used to do re Clinton. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure. Everyone can recall Bush Sr. and Nixon attacking a sitting president while visiting another country.
  12. I have to disagree with this. It just costs business more money and goodness knows, business is burdened enough as it is. Also, it gives unionized govt workers another day off at taxpayer expense. And where does it stop? Hospital workers get the day off? Restaurant workers? Airline workers? Hotel workers? School teachers? If you can't find the time to vote, then you aren't trying too hard. Plus, any business worth their salt will give you a couple of hours off to go vote--if you really need it. Canada's election is on Monday, January 12. I believe that there are people out there that would use this to blast off somewhere for a 3-day weekend--to hell with voting. I think Canuck E Stan's idea is best; make it 2 days. But then voters might be subjected to 2 days worth of propaganda by the liberal MSM. Remember their "exit polls show Kerry winning" canard in 2004--thus basically saying Kerry has won; don't waste your time voting for Bush. Perhaps having the election on a weekend would encourage more voter turnout...
  13. Dugger: No, not at all. It's just that it is against the rules of the forum and you have to be careful because one poster here likes to go and snitch to the Administrator when someone does post full articles. Just don't want you or Lovecanada to get in trouble. I'm not sure if there is a set amount of what can be posted here, but to use invaluable writer/blogger Michelle Malkin as an example: The copyright to all material on this site is held by Michelle Malkin. Permission is granted to other web sites to reproduce up to four paragraphs per entry, provided that a hyperlink to the full entry at michellemalkin.com is included. Use of michellemalkin.com content in violation of these terms constitutes a violation of my copyright. Seems pretty reasonable to me. P.S. I agree there is nothing wrong with CanadaFreePress. Sometimes they report things that the liberal MSM liberal "forgets" to report. Plus they have articles from the Opinion Page of the highly credible Wall Street Journal.
  14. Eureka, Blair never scolded Bush. He wanted him to step up to the Kyoto voodoo but that was months ago. And China and India are exempt from the framework of Kyoto. Please do some reading; I am getting tired of educating you.
  15. No. Americans value their sovereignty. Plus these enviromental scaremongers can't make up their damn mind if there is global warming or a mini ice age. The only reason why these people want to force Kyoto on the US is that they seek to cripple their economy, because every day they look at the US and are reminded that capitalism whips socialist ass. Why would anyone listen to a bunch of kooks who say things like this: Good grief!
  16. You cite Malkin and then have the gall to question my sources? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I trust Michelle Malkin than I do the liberal media--which has been caught time and time again lying--and especially those moonbat sites on Gadflyer's (your source) blogroll. Malkin is so dangerous to the liberal ideology that she receives hate mail like this. What the hell is the left's obsession with the word "whore" when it comes to attacking rightwing females?
  17. Too bad CTV, but I found the video to Duffy's remarks on Question Period and Reid's remarks on our state-run taxpayer-funded CBC.
  18. Canadian Press First serious gaffe of the election campaign? Thank God for our "fair and balanced" Canadian Press. They are often good for a chuckle. When a reporter asked PMPM if it was a Christmas wreath or a holiday wreath (Martin was buying a wreath), there was an uncomfortable silence before PMPM blurted out, "It's a $240 wreath." How embarrassing that a 67 y/o Christian man was too PC to say "Christmas wreath". But not a serious gaffe. And Paul 'Mr Enviroment' Martin calling on the US to have a "global conscience" regarding Kyoto--when Canada's greenhouse gas emissions have risen 24.4% since the 90s (compared to 13% for the US) is not a serious gaffe. After all, he attacked the US, which--in Liberal Land--is a good thing! Yay PMPM. I won't even bring up the fact that the Martin campaign jet--a Boeing 727--consumes 1289 gallons of fuel per hour, whilst the Harper campaign jet--an Airbus A320--consumes only 767 gallons per hour. Oops. I just did bring it up. Got that? Canadians are too stupid to be trusted with their own money. They cannot be trusted to decide on their choice of childcare; they will "blow" it on beer, popcorn, or a new car. The state needs to take our money, spend it for us, and have liberal elitists guide us dumb Canadians towards govt-run unionized daycare. Canadian parents cannot be trusted. Trust the Liberal Party; they have earned our trust, haven't they? Reid also said "there were no controls towards what that money [CPC annual $1200 towards childcare for families] goes towards." Got that? There are no controls on how you spend YOUR OWN damn money! I would link to John Duffy's remarks, but the "fair and balanced" CTV has already yanked the Question Period video from their website.
  19. Warren Kinsella replies:: Good on Kinsella. Nice to see a leftie (he refers to the loathsome Antonia Zerbisias as a "celebrated" blogger) who does not march in lock step with Dear Leader.
  20. lovecanada: Yeah, but all rightwing news sources are embarrassments and full of lies. CP supporters are only supposed to trust leftwing media sources. After all, the leftwing media's credibility is at an all-time high! P.S. You aren't supposed to post entire articles on this forum.
  21. Tony Blair Pulls the Plug on Kyoto at Clinton Summit: The bolded part is the real reason why the anti-American Eureka complains that the US has not signed on to Kyoto; he wants the US economy crippled. Socialists loathe the USA because it is the posterchild for capitalism and it has proven to be a far better economic system than socialism. This infuriates socialists. But according to Eureka, it is not a fatal flaw. Two of the biggest polluters in the world deserve a pass! Whaaa? The NYT would never ignore reporting things that doesn't fit their worldview. Besides, the NYT has more important things to do--like directing their resources towards investigating whether Bush missed a physical 30 years ago in the TANG. Oh no! Not the WaPo and CNN too? Those darn rightwing media sources. Where is that bastion of truth--Michael Moore--when you need him?
  22. Even Ken Dryden admitted that only 1 in 7 (14%) of working women have pre-school children. What about the other 86%?
  23. P.S.Shoop. You should have a link for your article. Also, you are not supposed to post entire--or near entire--articles on the forum.
  24. Do you think part of Harpers hidden agenda is to steal my money and give it to his Party? Man, I just hate it when that happens. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of course. Conservatives are well-known for raising taxes and taking taxpayer money, right?
  25. From canoe.ca: I think Odjig is playing the race card. It was early Sunday morning; he was running to avoid "the biting cold" (how cold could it have been on November 6?); he was apparently handcuffed, put in the back of a police cruiser for 10 to 15 minutes, then released when the cops believed he was not the person who assaulted someone with a weapon. Not a pleasant experience, but it seems he blew it out of proportion. The cops seemed to be just doing their job of trying to find the person who assaulted someone with a weapon. Or maybe he is just an overly emotional actor, like you said.
