  1. Please stick to the topic...a sitting American president who was cheating on his wife. A South Carolina prosectutor who cheated on his wife? Puhleeze..... Even I expected more from Newbie than that! Do you want me to list all the Democrat cheaters... Or how about sitting presidents....John Kennedy?
  2. Saskatoon Star Phoenix One of the most embarrassing world leaders (impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice) is coming to Toontown. Men who are serial-cheaters on their wives can definitely relate to him...not withstanding the rape accusations (Juanita Broderick) that have followed him throughout his life. While President Bush liberated 55 million Muslims from brutal tyranny, Clinton argued what the definition of "is" is. Only because Ross Perot split the right. Perot (19,742,267 votes) + George Bush, Sr. (39,104,545 votes) garnered 58,846,812 votes. Clinton received 44,909,889 votes. Bob Dole didn't exactly excite the Republican base. Nice guy but.... Bob Dole (39,198,755 votes) + Ross Perot (8,085,402) garnered 47,284,157 votes; Clinton barely nipped them by getting 47,402,357 votes; a slim 118,200 vote victory. Of course. If I was getting $100,000 US per speech, I would be "all over the place" too. No, this isn't the demonized Paula Jones. However, Ms. Jones was a guest on Hannity & Colmes when the results of her lie detector test were released. She was asked if Clinton exposed himself to her - in a hotel room - while Clinton was Governor of Arkansas. She said yes and the lie detector guy concluded that she was telling the truth. I understand that lie detectors aren't admissable in a court of law, but it is damning evidence. Thank God for Fox News--since the liberal MSM flat-out refused to report this. Decisions decisions. Do I spend $84 or $235 to heckle this poor excuse for a man? Proving that crack cocaine is alive and flourishing...
  3. Wow, we finally agree on something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why am I not surprised that Newbie agrees with the Daily Kos "progressives" from the "reality-based community? But it's just those brown-skinned Iraqis, right Newbie? They are subhuman second-class people who deserve nothing better than to live under the boot of one of the worse massmurderers of the 20th and 21st century, right? But I must confess; I agree with part of one sentence in the Top 10 Reactions.... #4: I don't believe a word of the NY Times, either.
  4. What part of that statement is so utterly confusing to you?
  5. Obviously, you are not from the reality-based community. Us progressives know that Hans Blix, the UN, Russia, France, Germany, the UK, Joe Lieberman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Milulski, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, Bob Graham, Harold Ford, Tom Lantos, Tom Harkin, Madeline Albright, Sandy Berger, Barbara Boxer, Robert Byrd (D-KKK), Wesley Clark, Jacques ChIraq, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, William Cohen, John Edwards, Dick Gephardt, Al Gore, Jim Jeffords, Ted Kennedy, Carl Levin, Patty Murray, Nancy Pelosi, Scott " I pick up 14 y/o chicks at Burger King" Ritter, John Rockefeller, and Henry Waxman were all ZAPPED by Karl Rove's Evil Mind-Control Ray Gun!! Tighten your tinfoil beanie because Rove's Evil Mind-Control Ray Gun is Super-Duper POWERFUL!! *Fires up the bong and pounds back a gallon of Kool-Aid* BUSH LIED, PEOPLE DIED!
  6. Freud had a term for what you are attempting; he called it projection.
  7. And yet another contender. Headline: Iran Could Be Sanctioned for Riling Israel According to the AP, Iran threatening Israel with nuclear destruction, saying the Holocaust was a hoax, and calling for Israel to move to Europe is "riling".
  8. shoop: What a crock. Ibbitson is a centrist. He writes for the Globe and Mail and I could only find one reference to him on the Canadian conservative sites I frequent. Typical brainwashed Canadian who, like the Europeans, considers a centrist a rightwinger. No wonder you call Steyn, the Western Standard, Fox News, and the WashTimes vile, childish, and embarrassing. Enjoy your Globe and Mail, buddy. Typical of the loony left. I was always suspicious of you. You link to a website that has a convicted terrorist sitting on its editorial board, link to an op-ed by a big supporter of the radical Al Muhajiroun group who claims that John Muhammed was not a Muslim fundamentalist, an op-ed writere who writes for radical sites like antiwar.com, Al Jazeera, and Islamonline.net. John Muhammed was anti-Semitic and was a member of the Nation of Islam, ffs! Then you link to "other gems"--op-eds by the loony John Quiggin. You have offered no proof about Steyn (except you "remember" him saying "jap" in 1999, but offer no proof). You keep on getting your info from pro-jihad sites and you keep on badmouthing Mark Steyn (even the highly partisan MediaMatters has only 1 reference to Mark Steyn) by calling him ignorant, and I will continue to laugh at your ludicrous claims. You are no conservative/rightwinger. Joe Clark was more rightwing than you.
  9. Norman Chateau...regarding your decriminalization of pot and SSM remarks, I'm not so sure that you are right about that. Perhaps on the decriminaliztion of pot, but the majority of Canadians do not support the social re-engineering by changing the 2000 year definition of marriage. Only Quebec and BC appear to be in favor of it. This poll says the same thing; only Quebec and BC support changing the 2000 year definition of marriage. This poll is ambiguous. This poll gives the edge to supporting SSM. This poll says that Canadians are opposed to gay marriage: I like that last sentence. I find it sad that Americans get to have referendums on gay marriage, while Canadians do not. More: Yikes. That makes me worry that if the Liberals and NDP supported the traditional definiition of marriage, they might steal some of the moderate voters from the CP. I think that the traditional definition of marriage should stand - and I think that a referendum would agree with my stance - but it is not a huge deal to me. The most important thing to me in this election is reducing the far-too-high amount of taxes we pay. When it comes to important/radical social re-engineering like changing the definition of marriage, I, and it appears most Canadians, believe this should be put to a referendum. Let's put this to a referendum, even though that would be *gasp* "American-like".
  10. That's not flip-flopping, that's John Kerryesque "nuance". Us dumb rubes just aren't sophisticated enough to understand it.
  11. Black Dog: Are you really this ignorant, naive, or is it your constant knee-jerk reaction to always take the side that is against President Bush or the USA? The 1st link is to CAIR, whose (now) former member - Ismail Royer - is in jail for 20 years after pleading guilty last year to training terrorists in Virginia for jihad against the US. And CAIR and CAIR Canada have been named as defendants in a 9-11 terror lawsuit. CAIR has many ties to terrorist groups and groups that fund terrorism. What the hell were you smoking when you linked to CAIR? Do you even read who you are linking to? The 2nd person (Dr. Maher Hathout) in your 2nd link is from the the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), an anti-Semitic group that has defended terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. Congratulations. You're batting 1000% in the first 2 links I checked. I'm sure many of the people you linked to are sincere and good law-abiding Muslims, but from the past history of many Islamic groups, you must remember that publically many say one thing, but privately it is a different story. When I have some more time (maybe on the weekend), I am going to investigate more of the sources you linked to. I am positive that I will find more "interesting" information; I'm 2 for 2 so far.
  12. It continues: And more 4 churches attacked in Sydney--community hall linked to church burnt to the ground and Chinese church has windows smashed Sydney police warned not to antagonise Mid East criminals SMH online political writer Andrew West reposts yanked article that was critical of some forms of Islam His reason for removing the original post? “The problem was that a lot of folks—not all—on both sides just didn’t, or wouldn’t, get it.” Apparently his readers disagreed, thus the reposting of the entry. West also added: "It’s important to point out this was entirely a unilateral decision [to remove the original post]. There was no pressure, suggestions, hints, “counselling”, warnings, or friendly advice whatsoever from colleagues or editors at the Herald or Fairfax. The decision was mine alone. I consulted no one." Hmm. From what I have seen of the media, I am a tad suspicious of West's claim. Especially when the SMH takes PM John Howard to task: Why am I not surprised that the reporters weren't joking? It's not the criminal's fault; it's Howard's fault for helping to liberate 25 million Iraqis! Yeesh.
  13. I live in a crime-infested city with 3 Native Indian gangs roaming the streets and a NDP govt that reneged on its promise to hire 200 more cops for the province (Saskatoon would have got about 45 of those cops). Don't worry, I'm not a Montananian. Very rarely am I "packing", but if I need to go to the ATM downtown (I live very close to downtown) or if gangbangers try to break into my place, rape my wife, or steal our cars... My elderly grandparents live in isolated areas; one pair live on a farm 16 km from a city, and the other pair live in a village (which had to shut down their liquor board store because of it being continously robbed) that is 40 kms from the nearest RCMP station. It makes me feel good knowing they have guns. The facts are clear (UK, Australia, Chicago, Washington, D.C.) Banning law-abiding citizens from owning handguns results in skyrocketing crime. Criminals are cowards when someone fights back. Haven't you wondered why the UK and Australia have higher burglary rates , higher car theft rates, and higher rape rates than the USA? And these numbers are 5 to 7 years old. The UK rates have risen (not sure about Australia), while the US rates have fallen in recent years. Wouldn't you be leery about burglaring an American's home? Besides, what did Hitler and the National Socialists do to the German people? They disarmed them. I doubt that would happen here, but the Liberals have been slowly stripping away the rights of Canadians. What if they go even further? The left has a sordid history of totalitarianism and blood-stained hands.
  14. Over 70% turn out to vote in Iraq election Some booths had to stay open for an extra hour because of the high voter turnout. Very little violence. So many Sunnis voted that they ran out of ballots in a few areas. This election appears on track to record more votes than any other parliamentary election in an Arab country. This is another major blow to the terrorists. Let's take a look at the Top 10 Reactions from the most popular leftwing blog on the Internet; those "progressives" from the "reality-based community" at The Daily Kos: Number Ten: …t’s precisely what BushCo is trying to do. Distract us from the violence and the deaths, of both U.S. and coalition forces and the Iraqi people, by staging these elections and giving us these photo ops. Number Nine: I won’t believe the numbers anyway. After the last election took 3 weeks to finalise the votes, I didn’t trust those results either. Earlier this week, on Air America, I heard about a truck of ballots being intercepted on it’s way from Iran. With Iran & the U.S. both wanting a desired outcome, I don’t think it matters what the Iraqis want. Either Iran or the U.S. is going to win this election, votes be damned. Number Eight: I want to know if Diebold had machines set up to count the votes. Number Seven: The paradigm I operate under is that the forces Bush has marshaled to allow him to use my money to terrorize a foreign population and get American soldiers killed and maimed are the exact same ones which are staging the election and will oversee not only the results but the actions of the elected. Number Six: If the Iraqis are successful in their democratic endeavor, perhaps they could send consultants to Ohio and Florida. Number Five: more iraqis are voting than americans voted in the last pres election...stupid f***ing americans...good for the iraqis..maybe america needs a good and bloody civil war to remember what democracy is about Number Four: I don’t believe a f***ing word of what the New York Times tells me about election day in Iraq. Remember last time? The anecdotes of people walking miles to get to the polls? Reports of unexpectedly high Sunni turnout? The dawn of democracy? Remember the Repugs pointing to those reports and waving purple fingers at us? Lies and propaganda, in the mold of Judith Miller. Number Three: This is just theater. All completely meaningless, and woe to the suckers who buy into this BS. These elections are nothing more than a prop for the bush thugs. No election that was initiated, designed, engineered, and carried out by a foreign occupation power has any legitimacy, here or elsewhere. None. Period. If Uzbekistan invaded the US, toppled the government, installed its hand-picked puppets, then ran through the motions of several rounds of voting, would the regime that resulted have any legitimacy whatsoever? Of course not. It would be laughed at. This so-called election is utter bullsh**, nothing more than photo ops and PR props. Number Two: Has any reporter asked anyone in the administration why the f*** Iraq has had even 1 election if the country can’t even employ 60% of the people?! If 50 people are dying a day. Can’t one a**hole just ask the f***ing question?!? Number One: I had a realization today while driving to work listening to all the talking heads blather on about Iraqis voting. I. DON’T. GIVE. A. SH**. ABOUT. THIS. Was it worth half a trillion of our (children’s) wealth and 2140 of our young people? 30,000 to 100,000 civilian "collateral damage"? F NO. ---------------- And The Daily Kos is - believe it or not - saner than the wildly popular Democratic Underground website (which isn't a blog).....
  15. The handgun worked wonders in the UK--for the criminals: I have seen similar figures at the UK govt's Home Office website. Also, Chicago and Washington, D.C. banned handguns and both cities saw their crime rate skyrocket. You'll have to pry it from my cold dead hand, Liberals. Do you think I am going to go downtown at night in crime-infested Saskatoon without being armed? Do you think I am going to live in this city that has the highest robbery rate (per capita) in Canada, and the US, without protection? There are thugs who hang out in front of the ATMs and there are homeless drug addicts who sleep inside the ATM area of the banks. It's bad enough that mace is banned. I know many women who are scared to walk downtown (and other areas) at night--and I don't blame them one bit.
  16. Apparently Harper is an amiable fellow, at least that is what I hear from people who have met him. Sometimes I wish he would show more spunk, but then the media labels him as "angry". I, too, am tired of Martin telling us what "Canadian values" are.
  17. Renegade: I saw an article about WalMart the other day. They did $338 billion in revenues last year and their costs were $327 billion, i.e., they made $11 billion gross profit on $338 billion. They operate on very thin margins; they make it up on the mega-volume they sell. As for the torture part, people use Mid East oil where torture is conducted, apparently quite often. Iran tortured and beat that Canadian-Iranian female to death a while back (I think she was a journalist). Update: A Pew Survey in today's news: Yeah, I know it is only a poll, but...
  18. We have another contender Headline from AFP: Bush defends Iraq war, says he will attack another nation if necessary Here's the full text of Bush's speech. There is nothing in his speech that says "he will attack another country if necessary" like the AFP headline reads. Nor did he say that "he would preemptively attack another country if he deemed it necessary". It's another lie by the MSM.
  19. That is your entire problem: you rely on right-wing extremists to spoon feed your opinions to you. You don't look for or even consider the opinions of people who take a balanced view of things and are capable of understanding issues from different pespectives. Ibbitson is certainly not a conservative columnist in your definition of the term (i.e. he thinks about issues and forms a opinion based on the facts rather than regurgitating right win gmantras). However, Ibbitson frequently ends up siding with the conservative view of things. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's rich coming from you, who claimed - on the NDP refuses to denounce secular extremist thread - that the ring Svend Robinson stole was only $5000, when it was, in fact, worth over $50,000--which I had stated in my OP. Then you attempted to smear rightwingers by claiming that Fred Phelps of the Godhatesfags website was a rightwinger, when in fact he is a registered Democrat. Perhaps if you visited some rightwing sites for some balance, instead of devouring the pablum that leftwing extremist sites spoon feed you, we might see more from you instead of the constant regurgitating of leftwing mantras. Please think for yourself. I did a search and read some of Ibbitson's op-ed columns and he is not a rightwinger; he is a centrist. If he was a rightwinger, he would be linked by rightwing sites - like I pointed out - but obviously you were unable to connect the dots. And I have no choice but to be exposed to both right and leftwing views--considering that Canada's media is overwhelmingly leftwing. You, OTOH, don't have that option, so you will have to show some ambition and check out rightwing sites if you want to see "the other side's" views. Try it.
  20. The ring was $5000 - assuming you care about facts. No worse than right wing sites like 'godhatesfags.com'. Hate exists at both extremes - stop trying to pretend that it is uniquely left wing issue. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1) Assuming you care about facts, the ring was worth over $50,000. 2) Fred Phelps of the Godhatesfags website is a registered Democrat
  21. Impeach Bush now! First Afghanistan and now Iraq! We cannot allow this kind of liberty to be spread!
  22. I wish I lived in the right wing cloud cuckoo land where judges, juries, prosecuters and police are infallible. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wish I lived in "the reality-based community" where murdering gangsters and serious murderers like Saddam and Castro are infallible.
  23. Shoop: I will reserve judgement since I have barely heard of Ibbitson and Gunther and don't recall reading any of their op-eds - which is odd since I visit many rightwing blogs, This is what really shocked me; you linked to Atrueword. Butler is a huge supporter of Al Muhajiroun, a radical group that has called for a British Islamic state. He has written articles comparing Bush to Trotsky, and he has been vilifying Stephen Schwartz since Schwartz wrote The Two Faces of Islam. Butler writes for radical sites like antiwar.com, Al Jazeerah, and Islamonline.net. But you take his opinion over Mark Steyn's opinion. That doesn't sound conservative; that sounds..... Atrueword posted photos of the nineteen 9-11 terrorists as heroes on that mosque in London. And let's take a look at who else is on Atrueword's editorial board--Ismail Royer, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison last year for being the leader of a terrorist group in Virginia that conspired to train on American soil for violent jihad. And then your "other gems" are op-ed pieces by John Quiggin! Do you even know who John Quiggin is? If you are going to deride one of the best conservative columnists in the world as vile, childish, and embarrassing--you're going to have to do a helluva lot better than linking to pro-Islamic sites that champion radical organizations and hav terrorists on their editorial board. Same goes for the loony John Quiggin.
  24. State-run, taxpayer-funded CBC: The CBC finally picked up this story (rightwing blogs have been on this for days). But I'm not terribly surprised. WE've heard barely a peep about the NDP running convicted thief (he stole a $50,000 or $60,000 ring) Svend Robinson for their party. So what is the fuss? Let's take a look. The CBC refused to show us this offensive sign, so I typed WinnipegPolice.ca... Bedford is holding a sign saying, "if Jesus returns, kill him again". Just another example of the compassionate tolerant left....
  25. Anyone notice that when the CP reported this, they referred to the WashTimes as a rightwing paper - which is true. However, can anyone recall the CP referring to the NYT or WaPo as a leftwing newspaper?
