The conservative author Rod Dreher last week tweeted a screen-shot of an online town hall meeting organised by the Northwestern University Law faculty. At the meeting each white faculty member at this hugely prestigious centre of American intellectual excellence begins with a self-denunciation. “I’m Jim Speta. And I am a racist,” the interim dean of the School says in the meeting chat thread leaked to Dreher. “My name is Emily Mullin. I am a racist and a gatekeeper of white supremacy. I will work to be better,” wrote another distinguished legal scholar.

The left is completely insane.

What's the rest of the story behind this bit, anyway? A bunch of individuals getting together to do something, you, personally disapprove of? If individuals living in a democratic Western country "choose" to disavow racism, how is that remotely related to people being "forced" to disavow intellectualism and capitalism by the reigning political party? If anything, this meeting and those standing up and disavowing their own racism goes against the reigning political party.
Also, I suspect the whole story is much more nuanced than a tweet by a "conservative" observer could ever hope to convey. This is why I consider this story nothing more than outrage fodder for the white victim narrative.

They're not disavowing racism, they're confessing to being racists. Which they clearly are not. They've adopted the leftist doctrine that all white people are racists. The people who do this sort of thing are never conservatives. They're always far to the Left. So if we're to believe you that they're telling the truth then I guess the Left are all racists.
