  1. What conclusion do you arrive at when you look at that chart?
  2. Not necessarily a big supporter of US policy, more of a supporter of smart, sensible policy, regardless of who it comes from. I didn't think the Biden administration's auto policy was great when they imposed rather unreasonable mileage and emission targets for auto manufacturers. There is a place for EV's in the market of course, but they aren't for everyone and perhaps not suitable for long range hauling or extreme cold weather. You say incentives help attract and retain investment. They do attract, but not necessarily retain the investment as we've seen with Stellantis moving more production to the US. As Goddess has already mentioned above, the Liberals have thrown tens of billions at the automakers, and to what end if production is still going down? The Northvolt plant in Quebec? Terminated. E-One Moli in BC? Halted. NextStar EV plant in Windsor? Experiencing layoffs. Governments don't exactly have the best record when it comes to picking winners and losers in business. Poilievre's proposals seem pretty sensible, but they will be rejected or ignored because they come from Poilievre. Key Proposals Tariff-Free Auto Pact: Poilievre is pushing for a tariff-free auto pact with the U.S., which would entail shared protections against imports from countries like China. This includes the cancellation of previous agreements that allow for increasing the number of electric vehicles (EVs) imported from China. Enhanced Domestic Production: He argues for a focus on increasing Canadian production. This aligns with a broader strategy to grant automakers who increase production in Canada greater access to the U.S. market without tariffs. Fighting Tariffs and Trade Barriers: Poilievre is committed to advocating for fair trade practices, specifically to eliminate tariffs on Canadian-made vehicles entering the U.S. He has emphasized the need for full exemptions for the Canadian auto sector from U.S. "Buy America" rules. Legislative Support: Proposals for a bi-partisan committee in Parliament to present a united front in negotiations with the U.S. administration regarding trade and tariffs were also made, aimed at strengthening Canada’s position. Expansion of Relationships: Poilievre is scheduled for meetings in the U.S. to engage with auto industry leaders, highlighting the need to leverage positive relationships with the American public for mutual benefits. Investment in Energy: Alongside his auto sector focus, Poilievre plans to advocate for Canadian energy interests, aiming to enhance Canada's role in providing energy solutions as part of the broader economic strategy. One can argue that of course, fighting US tariffs is a no-brainer. But that begs the question, why has Carney failed to negotiate a solution? I believe he would rather keep the 'orange man bad' narrative to keep going since so many Canadians buy into it.
  3. Mohamed Fahmy: Iranian sleeper cells are activating, and Canada is a target This country has been a haven for IRGC members https://archive.ph/YGfH7#selection-2149.0-2153.42 Wow, what a complete shock this is. Can anyone on the left defend the Liberal record on immigration?
  4. The tariffs certainly had something to do with it. But our auto sector was struggling well before Trump's tariffs and the move to ban ICE vehicles was probably too much, too soon. The Liberal plan to go all in on EV's instead of letting the market decide wasn't helpful. I guess the trend in Canada will continue to be massive subsidies with no guarantees that companies will stay in Canada. And Industry Ministers that can't be bothered to read contracts doesn't help either. Peak employment in the Canadian auto sector was around 180,000 in the early 2000's and now the number is about 115,000. Production during the same period went from 2.1 million down to 1.3 million vehicles in 2024. So auto production has been trending down well before Trump came along. https://www.ceicdata.com/en/indicator/canada/motor-vehicle-production
  5. Vehicle exports fell sharply in January as trade deficit grew: StatCan Canada’s trade deficit with the world increased in January as the number of vehicles exported to international markets dropped more than 20 per cent, according to the latest data. Statistics Canada says total exports in January fell 4.7 per cent from December 2025, which was the largest monthly decline since April 2025. At the same time, Canada’s imports fell 1.1 per cent, which ballooned the trade deficit to $3.6 billion compared to $1.3 billion a month earlier. Motor vehicle exports dropped by 21.2 per cent, which was one of the biggest declines among product categories. Six out of 11 sectors saw exports fall in January. https://globalnews.ca/news/11727310/canada-trade-deficit-january-2026/ How much more of this can our auto sector take?
  6. Trump announces an energy deal with India and the US is going to build a new refinery. In a landmark announcement on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump thanked India and its largest privately held energy company, Reliance, for backing a groundbreaking investment that will create the first new oil refinery in the United States in 50 years. The refinery will be located in Brownsville, Texas, as part of a $300 billion deal designed to boost American energy production while strengthening ties with global partners. https://www.businesstoday.in/world/us/story/trump-thanks-india-reliance-for-backing-historic-300-billion-us-refinery-project-in-texas-520005-2026-03-11 Reliance Industries has established a significant collaboration with Brookfield Infrastructure through a joint venture aimed at developing data centers in India. This partnership includes Digital Realty and has been branded as Digital Connexion: A Brookfield, Jio, and Digital Realty Company. Carney's deal with India does include energy, but from nuclear reactors. I wonder which company is going to construct them? The deal also includes proposals to study cooperation in other sectors, but not oil. Trump's deal is actually going to benefit Mark Carney personally because of the US oil company shares he holds.
  7. Moose on the Loose channel, he speculates that there could be another reason this MP was enticed to cross over, even apart from the hundreds of millions that were poured into her riding. Long story short, a person with the same name, and the right age as her son, was charged with possession of CP...and perhaps judges could be persuaded to go easy on this person if the mom joins the Liberals. Just speculation mind you but quite a coincidence. https://nunatsiaq.com/stories/article/man-charged-after-incidents-of-internet-child-exploitation-in-iqaluit/
  8. Floor crossings have happened before of course, but this time it's different in that it's pushing the Liberals to a majority because certain MP's have likely gotten offers (rewards) they couldn't say no to. By your logic, it would serve Canada just fine if dozens more MP's crossed over just to strengthen that majority. Never mind the people that voted for candidates of one party over another.
  9. Not really an act though when he has more conflicts of interest than any other PM according the the governments own list which is a pdf file open to the public. Carney's skin in the game is overwhelmingly in the US.
  10. Not killing it, just defunding it. They certainly aren't worth the one billion plus that gets handed to them on a silver platter every year. Management handing out bonuses for....??? Their ratings are very low as shown by their own internal documents.
  11. You're proving my point in that you vote based on hate for certain individuals instead of the actual poor record of this government which has been around since 2015. Although I don't like either Trudeau or Carney, it gets nowhere near the threshold of hate. I dislike them based on what they did/are doing as PM.
  12. Carney is more interested in pursuing the Brookfield agenda. Canada's economy is secondary. If things do turn around, then I'll be one of the first to admit Carney did well.
  13. You cheer because Poilievre lost. I mourn because Canada is in the toilet while people like you..continue to cheer.
  14. Candace Malcolm of Juno News points out that as soon as Carney gets his majority, he will immediately prorogue parliament and reset, which means the Liberals will take over and control all committee's and have even more control of the narrative.
  15. Conservative support did not drop catastrophically, rather it was Liberal support that rose dramatically thanks to the collapse of the NDP. In other words, it was left-leaning who may have been on the fence that decided to keep backing the same bunch that got the country in this mess in the first place.
  16. In what way are the Carney Liberals better on transparency and accountability?
  17. From the Bob Rae era, employment equity, overall fiscal incompetence. If you remember, they even pissed off the unions when they implemented austerity measures. As for the federal NDP, not that different from the Liberals. Pro mass immigration from the third world, no fiscal guard rails, I don't agree with the entire trans agenda, or their foreign policy stance, particularly when it comes to the Middle East. I don't like more government control. Their policies would drive out the investment class out of Canada.
  18. There were a number of countries that had lower per capita covid death rates than Canada. What else can you point to from the Liberal record since 2015, excluding covid?
  19. That answer is beyond vague. Stealing the Conservative platform? Perhaps the most noteworthy was Carney suspending(NOT axing) the consumer carbon tax. It will likely come back once Carney gets his majority. I don't buy the argument that Poilievre lost because he didn't release a costed platform soon enough. Let's be clear, most Canadians, definitely all Liberal supporters, couldn't give a rats ass about whether policy proposals are costed or not. They repeatedly supported the party that never once had a balanced budget , let alone a surplus. By most available statistics, Canada and Canadians are no better off, or worse off, than they were during the Harper era. Food poverty, more food banks than ever, more people having to depend on said food banks, higher crime, anti-Semitism at record levels. The Liberals completely messed up immigration too. We are going to be the first, post-national state. This election was decided on one issue, Donald Trump. In the link below is the CPC platform in it's entirety. I would never suggest it's perfect, but what is in there that you find so objectionable? https://cpcassets.conservative.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/27094930/45977d2d3ad26ec.pdf
  20. What makes Poilievre the worse option, specifically, which policy proposals?
  21. I have been checking out the Moose on the Loose chart the last few day. Quite an eye opener as just about everything on there is related to Brookfield as well as the people that Carney keeps bringing on board. It is a huge chart, but very interesting if one doesn't mind zooming in and out to read the details. https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVIgUjvog=/ Net-zero is going to act like an anchor on our economy.
  22. Perhaps a better question would be-what has this Liberal government done since 2015 that would make you want to keep voting for them again and again? (If you're in the public service or a 'consultant' I can see why) What have they gotten right, if anything, and does that demonstrably outweigh the negatives? And this is not a 'new government', it's the same bunch by and large. Carney has been all in with the Liberals since 2020.
  23. I do share your view that federally, it's only going to be Liberals over and over again. Carney is Teflon on steroids and over a decade of failed policies just don't matter to most Canadians.
  24. Conservatives say there are around 700 IRGC members in Canada while the Liberals say it's 'only' 200. The most inept Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree says they are working hard to deport those people...and that to date....a grand total of one has actually been removed. Canada is screwed.
  25. This will be the first time in our history that a PM literally bought a majority. There are a lot of morally bankrupt MP's on all sides sitting in parliament who clearly can be bought off.
