  1. The Liberals and the NDP do use robocalls. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/liberal-campaign-in-guelph-fined-for-robocalls-violation-1.1177594 http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/robocalls-land-ndp-mp-paul-dewar-7-000-fine-1.1310883 http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/ndp-repays-344k-in-sponsorship-money-after-tory-complaint-1.1237487 http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/liberal-leadership-candidates-with-outstanding-loans-wont-be-taken-to-court/article13496625/
  2. The IRS targets conservative groups. The Department of Justice secretly going after phone records of the the Associated Press. The Obamacare farce(You can keep your present health care plan...... period!),NSA surveillance http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/01/10/christie-crackdown-ups-scrutiny-over-obama-scandal-response/ http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/obamacare-nsa-barack-obama-shutdown/2013/12/26/id/543936 Four Americans died in Benghazi,I don't think that's a joke.
  3. So it appears Leslie was shopping himself out to the highest bidder.I think he is a perfect fit for the Liberals if this is indeed the case.
  4. We are talking about the basic necessities of life here, like being able to heat one's home and eating enough. And you tell struggling seniors to suck it up? Pathetic.
  5. I have seen This Hour Has 22 Minutes and I can assure you there are no comedians on that show.
  6. Just curious, did you feel that Bev Oda was treated unfairly over that 16$ glass of orange juice? Was Bev Oda entitled to her entitlements?
  7. There certainly was a lot more negative coverage of Bev Oda and her orange juice,Leslie get's a lot of coverage too but it seems many of the same journalists are defending him. Here's a link to another guy overbilling taxpayers, but this story did not get reported for obvious reasons. http://blogs.canoe.ca/lilleyspad/politics/column-lilley-lacroix-double-dips-on-expenses/
  8. I kinda wish the Bruins still had Kessel.
  9. I remember during the London Olympics reading about how the IOC was coming down hard on anyone trying to cash in on the games, even in the tiniest way,for instance like a bakery having a bunch of doughnuts on display in the shape of the Olympic rings.Something about copyright infringement or trademarks, talk about petty.I think all those buggers that make up the International Olympic Committee are every bit as greedy and corrupt as any dictator.
  10. I am not a senior citizen yet but I would have a hard time telling any senior to "suck it up".There are enough old timers still around that still remember the great depression or the second world war.And not every senior is getting a comfy gov't pension either. As for electricity in Ontario, the Green Energy Act is a giant step backwards. The Liberals have taken the most inefficient, costly path imaginable and we will pay for it for a very long time. You are out of touch if you think all seniors are spoiled.
  11. http://www.examiner.com/article/police-ag-holder-pressures-city-to-lower-standards-for-minority-recruits http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1375381/Fire-service-strength-fitness-tests-relaxed-allow-women-firefighters.html http://www.debate.org/debates/Should-police-fire-departments-lower-their-physical-requirements-for-female-recruits/1/ This sort of thing goes on all over the world ,including Canada. And it won't end with fire and police departments either. Of course women can be great at firefighting or police work.Eventually however, there will be consequences as Human Rights Commissions stick their politically correct noses into every aspect of our daily lives. Please read this following link that perfectly illustrates the absurdity of many of their decisions. http://www.ezralevant.com/another-day-another-reason-to-end-human-rights-commissions/
  12. The jokers on MSNBC are up in arms over this.Without a doubt,it was a cheap and petty stunt.I have to wonder where all the outrage is over the Obama scandals?
  13. Does anyone know the cost of repeat offenders doing their thing on the outside because they spend so little time on the inside? What are Khadr's chances of rehabilitation once he is released and reunites with his terrorist supporting family?
  14. I think the physical standards for police and firefighters have been lowered to allow more women into the ranks.Even unqualified applicants now have a decent shot thanks to our Human Rights Commissions. I'm sure they get all the usual perks of the Public Service, like lot's of sick leave and various other kinds of days off for this and that.I would like to see the defined benefit pension plan changed to defined contribution as a start.Any time a contract negotiation goes to arbitration, the arbitrator almost always sides with the union and the ability to pay does not enter into the equation at all. This has to change but don't hold your breath. As for the 100k figure,I believe it is probably more common than we think. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-debate/a-nation-of-100000-firefighters/article13647608/ As stated in this link, there are a lot of applicants for openings with the fire department, but they get "retention" payments for not quitting. It's bloody idiotic. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/canada-politics/globe-columnist-slams-canadian-firefighters-over-high-salaries-201110067.html
  15. Kind of a big difference in my opinion.Trudeau is absent while Parliament is sitting,so he can charge groups(like CHARITIES!)a fortune for an hour or two of his precious time. As for he booting out Liberal Senators,it's mostly a meaningless symbolic gesture but it plays well to his base. One of his press agents at the Ottawa Citizen,Michael Den Tandt, calls it a master stroke . These (Liberal) Senators will still support the party in every way, just as Conservative Senators support their own party.Justin Trudeau does not believe in real reform for the Senate, because the status quo "is to our(Quebec's) advantage".Those are his own words.
  16. I'm not sure about the situation in the rest of Canada, but how much are the policies of the McGuinty/Wynne government helping Ontario seniors?I hear all kinds of horror stories about seniors struggling to pay hydro bills thanks largely to the idiotic Green Energy Act.This is just one aspect of life for everyone as well, plenty of other expensive issues to deal with. I try to save for my own retirement but I have a hard time believing I can live out my life in my home province simply because I don't think I can afford to live here in the future.
  17. I guess the Conservatives are greatly irritated by the fact that Marc Mayrand and Elections Canada never seem to go after the Liberals and NDP with the same gusto as they do against the Conservatives. http://blogs.canoe.ca/lilleyspad/contributor-columns/column-lilley-elections-canada-is-far-from-fair/
  18. Many people apparently believe that the Ontario Conservatives can't win because they are right-wing and not "progressive".So,can anyone provide any evidence that Ontario is better off in any way after 10 years under an extremely "progressive" government? The McGuinty/Wynne Liberals have effectively doubled the provincial debt, electricity prices are rapidly climbing, businesses are leaving, they bungled E-Health,they ripped off taxpayers with the gas plant fiasco and the list goes on... These are some of the actions and policies of a "progressive"government. Can someone please explain how Ontario is better off now? I forgot to mention we are now officially a have-not province and are dependant on handouts which mainly come from non-progressive provinces.
  19. Interesting,Trudeau supports many of the same things Harper does?Surprisingly he does support Keystone XL,but NOT the Northern Gateway pipeline. He came out against that pipeline even before the experts reviewed it and came out in support of it recently. I wouldn't call Trudeau a staunch federalist either based on past comments. The current Senate is to "our" advantage as he said.He believes the best leaders are from Quebec and he did infer that Quebec should consider leaving if it doesn't like the way Canada is run.Justin Trudeau is a Quebecer first before he is Canadian. The government is not yet small enough and smart enough under Harper and we most certainly wouldn't have it under Trudeau either. I don't think he has his father's intellect and his current team is like the one McGuinty listened to while he was leading Ontario down the toilet(see Gerald Butts-green energy act stupidity etc.)
  20. Could you provide an actual number for the living wage you talk about? How much per hour or per year?Should all employees in Canada also be provided with the generous sick leave as well?Family days?Volunteer days etc?
  21. It is foolish to make promises that can't be kept.Apparently both sides at the negotiating table at Canada Post had not the slightest concern for the ability to pay down the road. In the past, can you recall which side was always the one to use billy clubs? http://www.thestar.com/business/2013/11/21/canada_post_warns_it_will_need_cash_due_to_pension_woes.html http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/12/16/canada-posts-6-5-billion-shortfall-just-a-fraction-of-more-than-150-billion-in-unfunded-federal-pension-liabilities/
  22. Right.....a better chance of being a democracy.......buy having a leader who is a real Socialist or a rock star that admires a dictatorship like China.
  23. Is the Mulcair in Parliament who keeps asking "who knew this, who knew that?" the same Thomas Mulcair that got offered a bribe many years ago and never bothered to report it?
  24. http://ezralevant.com/2013/09/liberal-luminary.html Gee I can't wait till she becomes our next finance minister. Can you say with a straight face, that Canada would be in better shape now under Justin Trudeau or Socialist leader Tom Mulcair?
  25. I'm not aware of Trudeau saying anything substancial yet about his policies, except that he is pro-pot. You say he will do lot's?Like what? More pot.A carbon tax. What else?He doesn't seem to be surrounding himself with the best advisors either. http://ezralevant.com/2013/09/justin-trudeau-my-fair-liberal.html
