Hmm, the Federal NDP just introduced/passed a motion in the House, proposing some major reforms to Employment Insurance. They sound pretty good - but nobody seems to want to talk about how to pay for them...we're talking 10's of billions of $$$ [edit] Oh wait, we'll charge the big corporations like Chrysler more taxes and everything will be fine - except Chrysler isn't paying their taxes now, and appear to have no plans on paying in the future no matter what the rate. That's okay though, there's lots more big corporations where they came from, aren't there?. [/edit] http://www.thestar.com/comment/article/601454

As there have been numerous health benefits attributed to marijuana and no proven dangers to health, perhaps you would like the government to pay us to use it? -

I know, let's get the people who set up the gun registry! -
Yes, it's the same old thing. The Liberals will find any excuse to do what they want, not what actually good for the country or the economy...

Actually, those are cocaine dealers. Actually, the budget is not passed yet, and the Liberals are now threatening to stall it in the Senate. I thought they had promised to work with the government to expedite the stimulus program... http://www.thehilltimes.ca/html/index.php?...budget/&c=2

If one person gets health care and someone else doesn't, it's not universal. Someone said that the American system was horrible because 'HMO's won't pay for everything'. I simply pointed out that our system won't pay for everything either. In fact, our system comes nowhere near paying our total health care costs.
-
Either way, it's not "universal health care" no matter how they spin it.

There have been cases in Ontario where treatment and/or medication has been denied because it would cost OHIP too much. Great system!

I guess you would feel better if he tossed back a magnum or two of champagne? Perhaps followed with a couple of shots of Canadian whiskey?

This sounds dangerously close to an endorsement of forced sterilization. Do you honestly think that you should have the ability to decide who is 'responsible' enough to have children and who is not? Do you honestly even want that responsibility? -

The more people love Obama, the more they are going to be disappointed. Besides, what's with all the swooning and love? He's just a politician who is saying what he thinks people want to hear. -
