You've SPOKEN TO PEOPLE!? Why didn't you say so before???? 🥱 🙄 Why are you still so ignorant on the history of the region then? You've BEEN THERE!
-
No? The Gazans weren't aware of all of the previous conflicts that Hamas dragged them into? They weren't aware of any of the rockets being fired into Israel, the kidnappings, or the publicized suicide bombings? They weren't aware that Israel's destruction was one of Hamas' primary goals? Right...🙄
-
Not a civil war, but talking to you is a waste of time. You are in your own little world here, prattling on to nobody but yourself. 🥱
-
Whatever you say. 🙄 You remind me of some really old people I've met, who talk without any real direction or point to make. They don't really communicate - they don't listen and there's no give-and-take. The words just sort of spill out aimlessly and endlessly until you get up and leave as politely as you can.
-
All good points, but the solutions are not simple. You need politicians (and a population) willing to embrace some short-term discomfort to make the changes necessary. When all we are getting from our leaders (from any side) are hot-takes and platitudes, and a willfully uninformed population that responds to nothing but outrage and grievances, thats the sort of leaders we get.

Yep yep, stay tuned - heard that from you before. 🤡 -

So...the news here is that Russia and Iran have announced that they're not participating from the USD trading/banking that they've already been banned/restricted from? WOW! Have you ever looked up how much of the global trade economy is made up by Russia and Iran? It's tiny. Can't wait for the next episode of doom-porn. 🤡 -
Disagreeing with recorded historical fact doesn't make it any less factual. They have records referring to "Ukraine" going back to <1200 AD, and the people living in the area called themselves Ukrainian before, during and after Russian subjugation. I suggest you actually research and read about these topics before you start these goofy threads, because you're lobbing out opinions on topics you obviously don't know much about. 🤷♂️
-
First off, Ukrainians have been calling themselves Ukrainians for centuries, prior to, during and after the Russian yoke. Israel has been called Israel since the 40's. For someone who has so many thoughts to share on these topics, it's shocking how little you've researched any of them.

Most people use the word Palestine. It goes with "Palestinian", and has been used for decades or more. Everyone uses the word Ukraine, and the word's been in use for hundreds of years. Not a civil war - an invasion. Ukraine was independent, recognized by Russia in 1991. The word I think you were looking for when you typed out this goof thread was "revisionist", because that's the sort of history you seem to ascribe to in all of your befuddled musings. 🙄

Ban Pro-Palestinian Demonstrations
Moonbox replied to NAME REMOVED's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I get the sense that you're ignoring the context and history of Israel and the Jewish people. It's easy for you to sit at home in Canada and moralize about how they defend themselves from an existential threat they face every day, but it rings heavily of selective history and double-standards. Galvanizing, certainly, but once again you ignore the context of decades worth of violence and aggression against Israel that forms much of that pre-Oct 7 history. 🤷♂️ -

Certainly, but every conflict zone is different, and extrapolating from a tiny sample of around 100 dead UN workers isn't very scientific. It's a hypothesis - a best guess. When we're dealing with numbers that small, having one group of people in the wrong place at the wrong time could skew the numbers substantially. That was the whole point - to cause chaos throughout the world. This was never going to end well for Palestinians, and Hamas launched their heinous attack expecting and welcoming the Israeli response, to the glee of their sponsors in Iran etc, and to the Russians who no doubt appreciate the distraction. No, but at a certain level the Palestinian "nation" is complicit nonetheless. You get the government you tolerate, and if you elect and/or accept a group that has the genocide of their neighbours as its primary platform, that hides amongst your people and launches attacks etc, feigning ignorance/innocence only convinces the "dupes." The primary goal of a campaign like this is to neutralize the threat to your people's safety. If Hamas was a traditional government with a traditional armed forces, precision strikes would more effective. In this case, they're a terrorist organization that the Gazans actively hide and abet amongst themselves, so what folks are asking and expecting Israel to do is eat shit and get more of their people killed for the benefit of the folks who helped murder their citizens in the first place. -
What you meant was entirely irrelevant. Everyone else on this forum spent their Christmas Eve doing final prep for the big day, and enjoying some time off with their people. You, on the other hand, sat at home seething and pounded out another hapless rant about how the world isn't the way you want it. Your track record with reality is...not good. 🤡

Ban Pro-Palestinian Demonstrations
Moonbox replied to NAME REMOVED's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Perhaps, but better than nothing still isn't good. In this case they're extrapolating from a tiny sample size with variables not just unexplained but impossible to control. At best, this article is saying, "From what exceedingly little we actually know, Hamas might not be exaggerating." It could be true, but then what that tells is that Hamas and its sponsors are accomplishing exactly what they set out to do, which was to create a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, destabilize the region, and make Israel look bad. Israel certainly has a hand in making themselves look bad as well, but the nature of atrocities committed on them to start the conflict was likely calculated to elicit exactly this sort of response. -

Did you read what the article you posted even said? Did you read what I said? I explained my criticism of your source, and it was very specific to how they drew their conclusions based on the very limited information they had, rather than any sort of sweeping judgement on the journal itself. -

This is a pretty flimsy source, offering cursory extrapolation and assumptions based on what limited information the UN does have. The death toll may be as bad as reported, but the point is that it's exactly what Hamas wanted, and to call their claims and reporting reliable is a grand joke. -

Sure they did, and still are. They're still holding hostages. They're still fighting, still firing rockets into Israel. The fact that they're doing so as an insurgency hidden within the civilian population they're supposedly "elected" to govern paints a clear picture of what their priorities are. That doesn't make Israel the good guys here, or excuse their carelessness and indiscriminate force, but there's no reasonable reality where Hamas remains the governing authority in Gaza after what's happened. -

Hamas numbers aren't just unreliable. They're completely worthless. With Iranian funding, they started a destabilizing conflict they knew without a doubt would invite a heavy response. Now they're decrying, emphasizing and almost certainly exaggerating the civilian casualties they're doing everything in their power to amplify, in a conflict of their choosing and making. -
Did you consider not saying anything? That's what a reasonable human being would have done. Anytime everyone gets together and you get some time off work, it's joyous. I had a lovely holiday and I'm glad to hear you did too.

Not as embarrassing as this thread you started, that's for sure. While most of us were out with family, friends, kids and love ones enjoying ourselves on Christmas Eve, you were seething at home and figured it would be a good time to pound out a rant about all the things that grind your gears. Okay gramps. 🥱
-
Yeah, it is hilarious. You say so many dumb things that you can't even keep it all straight. Here you are once again telling us you didn't say something, when you can literally scroll up a few posts on the same page saying exactly that. Whoopsie, you embarrassed yourself again. 🤡
-
Somehow you continuously manage to defy all probabilities and prove you're even dumber than we already knew: At this point, I'm not really even surprised by it anymore. 🤣

From your own link: 7 April: At 3:30 am, a group of pro-Russian activists stormed the SBU offices in Donetsk and Luhansk.[1] They did not make any clear demands. and 12 April: Fifty two armed militants led by Igor Girkin (retired colonel of Russia's intelligence FSB) attacked the executive committee building, the police department, and the Security Service of Ukraine offices in Sloviansk. Neither of us have a clear picture, you're absolutely right. With every link you post, however, you do a better and better job of proving that you aren't just ignorant on the topic, but clownishly deluded. As you talk about Ukraine somehow invading Russia, you post a link highlighting how Russian intelligence agents were leading armed militants in the Donbas all the way back in 2014.
