Doesn't matter. Wokeism is one of the conspiracy slogans that must be thrown around by default by certain types. If you combine them with MSM, totalitarians and now hate-mongers into the same sentence, you get bonus points. Forget actually posting thoughtful arguments. Just yell "Woke Nazi MSM Totalitarian Puppets violating our Constituuuuution" or something like that and you have the meat of most of their "arguments".

Is Trudeau the most unCanadian Prime Minister ever?

What does aging have to do with it. If you're going to complain about people making accusations, saying dumb stuff and annoying people, just scroll page a page or two and read your own ranting word-vomit. -

It's really hard to put into words how clueless and hypocritical that is coming from you. Either you have really bad short-term memory of your own posting history, or you've a child-like sense of perspective/empathy and can't evaluate your own behavior. -
It always was, if you're just doing it to be a loud nuisance. There's plenty of legal precedent going back decades for this.
-
I didn't miss your point. I saw it for what it was: Bad logic. Her tweet was hyperbole/rhetoric and to both take it literally and apply it generally is absurd. I admired her principles and how Trudeau handled her as Justice Minister soured me on him forever, but you're reaching and fooling yourself by concluding that she's referring to the Truckers Protest. The best part about our legal system is that Parliament and the Prime Minister can't just do whatever they want. The Courts can overrule them when they overstep and they often do. Jody's tweet are unfortunately (for you) not evidence of a breakdown of that system. This is just another desperate grasp for some sense of legitimacy on your part.
-
Lol WHAT?! If that's the sort of imbecilic nonsense you have to offer the conversation, I'll spare myself the irritation and just block you.
-
It's not really for me to say. She's almost certainly still sore about the shit Trudeau pulled with SNC Lavalin, but much of her focus and comments over the last year or so has been regarding Indigenous peoples and Reconciliation. To conclude that her tweet from the other day is a voice in support of the Truckers Convoy when she didn't even vaguely refer to them is not great logic.
-
That's a pretty lame grasp. If she wanted to talk about COVID and the convoy she'd have just done so. She's an independent MP and Trudeau has no power over her, so this is little more than you playing make-believe with her words and intentions. If she comes out and speaks directly against the mandates and provides some reasoning, I'll listen to it, but until then you're still just doing mental gymnastics in your search for credibility.

He was one of the signatories. His education background was in teaching and literature. The only thing that's ridiculous about this conversation is that you think a school teacher knew enough about Law to help write a document as important as the Constitution. Whatever input he provided to the writing was based on the advice of Newfoundland's top lawyers and scholars, none of which he has access to as an 80 year old man sitting comfy on some island off the coast of BC.
-
Who was paid? What is Jody even talking about here? How is this relevant to the trucker's convoy? All you're doing is posting a tweet by a jaded former Justice Minister who was treated unfairly by Trudeau and the Cabinet. For the record, I mostly support her and agree with her, but it has nothing to do with COVID mandates whatsoever.
-
You can't even begin to understand how the Constitution is being violated. You're just yelling, "CONSTITUTION CONSTITUTION!" without a clue what you're talking about. Your former "writer" of the Constitution was in fact a high-school teacher who ended up as the Premier of Newfoundland at the time and therefore had to sign off and rubber-stamp the Constitution, but wrote none of it. As for our former Justice Minister, I've yet to see anything she's said related to these protests, but if you have a source beyond a twitter link or some screen capture from the trucker's protest, I'd love to see it.
-
Your citation was pathetic, as usual, and came from Twitter of all places. It neither supports your argument here nor does it even serve as a proper link. Your record of citation here is...not very good.

GoFundMe didn't steal anything, and neither did the police. You don't get to just bring whatever you want and lay it anywhere you please, nor is GoFundMe required to send funds wherever you feel they should. Anyone who donated can get their money back. Regarding fuel, it doesn't take a genius to realize that maybe you can't just cart gasoline and diesel around and drop it wherever you want, nor can you park your vehicle wherever you please. You're right. What you're saying has absolutely nothing to do with the Laws or our Constitution, neither of which you understand whatsoever.

I think patience is wearing thin and this can't/won't go on much longer. I suspect we might be wearing masks into the start of summer at least and there may be other things but I expect life to return to normal-ish this year, at least for vaccinated people. For the unvaccinated, as long as they're clogging hospitals and making things harder for everyone else, I am 100% behind continued restrictions and that's what the convoy support polls seem to suggest the majority of Canadians think.
-
You're not sure of anything of the sort, else you wouldn't say something so dumb. GoFundMe isn't a "right" and there's absolutely nothing illegal about a private (for-profit) corporation choosing not to allow someone to use their service. The tickets can be challenged in Court, but those challenges will almost all fail. The beautiful thing about the Law is that its founded on reasoning and principle and doesn't just sort of do what a bunch of angry people on the Internet figure it should.
-
Okay sure. I want COVID-19 restrictions to end too. I've 3 vaccines now and I'm tired of sitting at home not being able to do stuff. There's a huge distinction, however, between wanting COVID-19 restrictions to end vs removing vaccine mandates/passports etc. People who've done everything they've been advised to by health officials want to get going and doing stuff. That doesn't mean they don't believe in or support vaccine mandates. You'll notice that the support for ending COVID restrictions is way higher than public support for the "freedom convoy" and what they want...nearly 100% higher.

What are the options to remove Justin Trudeau?
Moonbox replied to TrudeauSucks's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
There's no question the deficit spending is huge. Where does inflation end? Nobody can say for sure but from an economics perspective it's not going a heck of a lot further. This is probably the high end already (not the 4.9% or whatever that's reported - the real number is probably higher) but we're not heading back to 15-20% inflation and certainly not beyond that. One of the biggest policy levers that the Fed and BoC have to combat inflation is interest rate hikes, and they haven't even started with that. Consider the math behind mortgages, for example. If you wrote your mortgage for 5 years at 2.79% and interest rates jump by 1% in 2022, that's a 36% increase to the interest cost on your mortgage when you renew, or for people getting new mortgages. That will have huge deflationary pressure on the economy. -
Implementing policies for stronger armed forces makes us vulnerable? Why are we talking about withdrawing from NATO/NORAD? This thread is very sus.
-
Where are you getting those stats from, exactly? Anything I've read has indicated a strong majority support the mandates and even support stronger restrictions for the unvaccinated.
-
How many times can you post that same thought (slightly reworded) on different threads? Does that have anything to do with the Trucker Convoy/protests?

We're not on the verge of hyperinflation, or even anything close to hyperinflation. That term is a bogeyman word that 4dchan conspiracy clowns bandy around without understanding what it means or how it comes to be. Explaining monetary policy to those folks is a lost cause though. As far as they're concerned, the money-printing machines are just going brrrrrrrrrr! and that means that the $ is going to lose 50% of its value per year or...something. -

/yawn Yes yes, it's always the main stream media and big pharma and authoritarians working together to suppress the "truth". When you always have that tired old rag of an argument to toss into the ring, you're not really worth talking to. -

because the evidence doesn't point to that. You're just grasping at whatever vague nonsense you can. You demanded I answer your questions earlier, now show me the same courtesy and answer mine. -
Not really. His contribution to writing it amounted to little/nothing, like most of the people who signed off on it. It was written by legal experts and scholars, not high school teachers and such that had to rubber-stamp it.
