In summer 2014, as it happens, I flew from Moscow to Simferopol. I wanted to see Yalta. In Crimea, all people I met spoke understandable south Russian. Crimea is nothing like west Ukraine where they have a weird accent like the Scottish/Catalan and refuse to make an effort to be international, understandablei. In Quebec, it was joual. Crappy French. ==== I went to Yalta. The famous photo of Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin in fact was in a small courtyard of the chalet, summer house, cottage. It reminded me of Harrington Lake.

My thoughts on Sachs? He's a typical American abroad who opposes his country. Ocean threat? Let me be clear: Zelensky, in Jewish sarcastic fashion, tried to threaten America with Russian A-bombs. "You have a beautiful ocean." IOW, "You'll be next!" Zelensky wanted America leverage to move Russia. Trump would have nothing to do with this. He saw though it immediately.

Trump is playing English Canadian nationalists. In 1988, Mulroney wanted free trade with Americans. Turner, the federal Liberals claimed that Mulroney would erase the line - make us American. The federal Liberals wanted to impose barriers to trade. ===== Now, the federal Liberals -under Carney- claim that Trump will erase the line - and make us American because of tariffs. The federal Liberals oppose barriers to trade. ===== Is it good to trade with Americans? Or bad? Should we let them buy our water?

Unlike Jeffrey Sachs, I have always been pro-American. (IMHO, the best feature of you guys is your 10th Amendment.) Anyway. Whatever. Canada could not hope for a better neighbour. And, you Americans - Zelensky ocean threat - could not hope for a better neighbor.
