The mere name, y krai, is enough to explain the problem. In summer 1914, civilised Europe foolishly/tragically commit suicide. For the next 30 years, millions of ordinary Europeans were killed. In these 2020s, I fear that Europe's elite is about to do the same again. === In North America, we largely get along.

Too many of them smile -2020s official style. The photo reminds me of the 1910s official style -regalia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Conference_of_1912–1913#/media/File:Potpisnici_londonskog_mira.jpg -

Clueless. === Canada, unlike France, has two official federal languages. We Canadiians are like America: Quebec is sovereign. -
Party Leader: Singh, Trudeau Jnr, Carney etc

We Canadians have a long tradition of voting across lines - even when we can vote for one of us. I reckon that Singh is toast. -
Academy Awards 2025 - I didn't watch, didn't even know the date

America? Hollywood? I know ordinary Russians. Even ordinary Chinese. We all have a Mom and Dad, brothers and sisters - or at least an uncle/aunt. -

Our war memorials of 1914 are different from those of 1939. I frankly think that we should have avoided 1914. ==== Without 1914, there would have have been no 1939. -

We? They? ====== This current 2020 problem reminds me more of Summer 1914 than Summer 1939.. -

What's your point? ===== In the past, many Canadians fought abroad. Nowadays, I wonder. -
More than anything, I like that I can still use DOS. I have control of my computer.

Overpriced? Agreed. But I like the detachable keyboard. ==== Junkware? Explain

Humans Living on Mars vs Robots on Venus

Autistic people, well, engineers are engineers. Give them a problem, and they'll try to solve it - without any human cost. Architects are worse. They imagine a world without engineers. -
It was yesterday. I learned from Google that Anura won Best Picture. Anura? Haven't seen. I went to Youtube to see the trailer. (Within 30 seconds, I realised that it was fake... Russians/prostitutes.) ==== The Brutalist? Haven't seen. Adrien Brody? Curious? I read a few forums to understand the movie. A Jew arrives in America after the war. America is awful. Brody has a big ego. ===== I was curious to see The Pianist. It was a good movie. Sophie's Choice?

Thanks, 500channelsurfer. I don't follow Ontario politics closely. I simply wanted a smart explication. Take note.

The 1910s? Mussolini, Putin, Mao, Hitler? - not the 1930s
August1991 replied to August1991's topic in The Rest of the World
In many ways, you are describing our 2020s world. ==== I think the cataclysm of Summer 1914 was avoidable. -
Barbara Stanwyck? She was a female Gary Cooper. But Shelly Winters always onfused me.
-
Shelley Winters. I don't get her. 1950s. Marlon Brando. Marilyn. So normal. Then she's in the Poseidon movie 1970s. Again, normal.

Government spending, tax revenue are hard to measure. Government debt, even worse. State or local? Overall, I use the state debt-to-GDP ratio. Sub-state debta. Rising? Ponzi scheme. We in Canada are well below 100. Our dollar is sound. America is above 100 and rising. ==== Americans borrow too much and consume too much. Including their governments, This is not sustainable. -
The 1910s? Mussolini, Putin, Mao, Hitler? - not the 1930s
August1991 replied to August1991's topic in The Rest of the World
World War II? It would never have occurred without World War I. Indeed, the Great Depression was a consequence of the Treaty of Versailles. The period of 1914-1945 in Europe was a collapse in civilisation. Hitler and Stalin arose in this time. Even in Asia, Mao took power. In America, FDR was a strong man ===== More broadly, why did civilised society collapse in the early 1900s -
1. The line: "Facing the chair, he'll sing like a canary." 2. Howard Duff has blue eyes even though it's a noir. 3. Unlike Chinatown, this movie's Act III: Mexico doesn't work

And our government debt to GDP ratio is the lowest amongst the G7. I thank Chretien-Martin, and Harper.
