How much of that was you wanting to overcome your porblems and make something better for yourself? I am will to bet that you would have done it even without the government intervention because you strived to do it, much the same as I have. The difference isn't that conservatives are heartless and will do away with social programs, this just isn't the case, most conservatives will admit the need for effective and targeted social programs for people who want the help and will make an effective use of it, instead of just abusing it. Give a man a fish he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish he will feed himself for life.

Thanks to Trudeau nobody knows what it is to be Canadian, thanks to the liberals we struggle to keep the economy afloat, thats to the liberals, the parliment is now subornate to the supreme court, thanks to the liberals we live in a semi facist state whith thought police. Becasue we are a constitutional Monarchy, our entire political system was set up to be a mirror of Britain. We are part of the British Commonwealth. Our country was founded under the British Monarchy, it is part of what it is to be Canadian though Trudeau tried to wrase this, its is a part of our country our history and our Canadian Hertiage. In otherwords it part of making us who we are. The US revolted and created a republic which is what makes them and their system different. This is why history needs to be taught in our schools, we are loosing our CANADIAN IDENTITY.

How is our economy damaged? Unemployement is still at some of the lowest numbers ever. What hand outs to the wealthy? Please define what wealthy is to you. I am the head of a working family, I feel more included in Canada then I ever have, and its nice to have the government getting out of my way, the impediment ot saving has been lifted the with the Tax Free Savings account, which I plan to start saving my pennies in, knowing that there will be no tax when I need the money. Economically this government has done far more for my family then any other government in my lifetime. I think you are angry because they will not legalize the substance you like to use. Thank you Prime Minister Harper and the CPC for standing up to the vested and vocal interestes, thank you for standing up for my family and for all Canadians.

What are you looking for on the economy? Huge amounts of government intervention, in fact what is wrong with our economy, our short term economic outlook is better then the US. We are looking at short and small recessionary dip, the US is looking at a huge recessionary dip that looks like it will be quite painful to the average american. I guess the deomcrats should have listened to House republicans, the three times they tried to bring in measures to avert this very problem. The CPC has done a very good job with the economy, and we should be fine as long as the huge tax tax and spend plans of the left of centre parties stay on the shelves until this is over.

I would like to know if there where other bidders and why they decided on this fellows company. In other words was this handled properly, I sure it was, but I'd still like to know.

We were specifically talking about young offenders, a little of topic. BTW I do feel that I am not a victim of this just society as a whole, and as the Netherlands has learned what you advocate doesn't do much to help the situation, as they are now tring to reverse some of these legalization laws.

Ya right, lets look at what those policies you speak have done, increased the numbers of young offenders, and repeat offenders, all while the courts are letting these people go few crimes are going reported because their is no sense of justice. The next stop will be viglianties, and the complete loss of faith in our justice system. So bravo, the polices you advocate have had such a positive impact.

I highly doubt it, how much money goes to that segment of the population already, rec programs, facilities, community out reach programs, not to mention the the privately funded groups for them through church youth groups ect. I wonder just how much social funding already goes to these kids, and the problem is still growing. They must a have a stiff deterent as well, the slap on the wrist does nothing but teach them they can get away with it over and over.

Its a minority parliment in fact this was the longest running minority parliment, they are not suppose to last 4 years. Its only a majority the lasts that long. So here is something to consider, if you don't want another election in the next couple of years, give the tories a majority, or stop whining about about the naturally short nature of minority governments.

Please, just because the liberals didn't have any spine to go to the commons and vote doesn't make Harper a bully it just showed that the liberals were willing to sell out their party base in hopes of being able to wait it out until their appoval numers improved, just to get caught with their pants down. Harper has never struck or strangled a protestor. (Something a certain Liberal PM did) Or Given the finger to members of the public in western Canada (something another Liberal PM Did)

Their choice is not dictated, they make it, quit making excuses, I have not forgot we are taking about your offenders, the problems we are have with them is a direct result of the victim mentality. They must be shown that there are consequences for commiting crimes, not just a slap on the wrist and someone making excuses for them. This is basic knowlege if you let a child get away with something once, they will do it over and over. Its time we break the cycle, and show young offenders their are consequences for their actions. If this segment turely wants to improve their quality of live they can do it, their are enough social programs now to help with it. BTW there is no amount of social funding that will ever change this. There is not one country in the history of the world who has been able to slove this problem with more and more social funding.

This is not true they are responsible for their own actions. This victim mentality of blaming everyone but yourself is what got society into the mess it's in. Your making excuses doesn't help it only enables more of this behaviour. These young offenders need to be held to account for their actions, no excuses. We are never responsible for someones elses choice, because its their choice, not ours. If you want society to change, stop accepting the victim menatlity.

We don't need fixed election dates, anyone with a speck of indepedant thinking can figure out the that the left is whining, maybe people should make the effort to educate themselves about the laws being passed in Parliment instead of only looking at the leaders talking points in the MSM. Actually we are required by NATO to spend 2% of our budget on the military which we havedn't done for years and this is something to be addressed. We made a commitment, to NATO afganistan and the world and it requires we see it through, otherwise we have underminded everything we have done. The Taliban/terror networks will see our withdrawal as a victory for them.
