Read the conservative platform, this the mandate a elected CPC member has. Their course has been laid out for them by the grassroots of the party.

Leadership conventions by their nature are divisive, this can't be changed. Doesn't matter which party.

Sorry we don't deal all that much with high density residential on septic fields, most here are on public waste systems. I didn't really think iof that problem, but even so, their are solutions to those problems.

All people do have the opportunity to vote for party leaders, we all have the opportunity to join a party and either vote for deligates who then vote at leadersip conventions, in some parties and in others, it is a direct vote. Everbody can get invovled if they want and have that opportunity. The question is how much handholding do you want in the process.

Isn't it time to slow down immigration?

So your really not an anarchist, as someone will still be making decisions? People will still be lobbying and you will still have a type of political structure? -
I'm not much for the community plans, I hate cookie cutter neighborhoods. If you own the property it should be your to with as you please, as long as it falls within the zoning. Basement aptments and ect. need to be looked at again, it can provide very affordable housing and creat a second source of income for the property owner.

No, it just seemed a little off colour.

What an odd post.

They morgages where taken over by CMHC to free up lending capital in the banks, to ease the credit crunch. CMHC was already on the hook for these morgages that means that the tax payer was alreadyon the hook if these go belly up. IF you buy a house with less then 25% down you have to buy the insurance from the CMHC. These on the whole are good risks. The reason why CMHC exists is the same reason why the government insures deposits at banks, to protect us from defaults.

Thank you Jilles, Danny and Jack!

Demonize no, just point out the consequences of his actions. Most liberals didn't move look at the low voter turn out, they just stayed home. -

A country does not have ideals, or create them, it is just an embodyment of the ideals of the populace. Trudeau fed the anger of regionalism of this country by piting the regions against one another. -
We the tax payer didn't end up taking on anything we didn't already have. Every single one of those morgages were insured by CMHC. So that means each and everyone of us were already on the hook the if anyone of those morgages defaulted. What was done freed up lending capital at our banks. Your right he is and Economics professor and he knows a lot more than you do, you've proved it over and over in just this thread. You are a partisan hack it may not be for the liberals but you are for some far flung cause. Most Canadians are centre, centre right or centre left. The key is they are centre. This is why the far left and the far right have never formed a federal government. Anyone who understands politics in this country understands this.

looking at the wiki page listed it seems we are in the upper end for taxes in 2 categories. Commercial greater than or equal to 35% most of the world is 30% or less, look at europe. Personal greater than or equal to 40% most of the world is less, part of europe is compairable, notmany countries higher, a lot lower then us. Sales Tax/consumer taxes we are al little less the most of the world. Just going by the what you quoted from brunopolis

Their are one or two in the liberal party I would love to see cross the floor to the conservatives.

Do you not change the address before you move? Why leave it until after? Even better yet if you are unsure if you can make it election night go to an advanced poll, thats why they exist. I have had to do this acouple of times. -
Quit basing your counts with the inclusion of the bloc not all in that party are statists, if you recall the bloc was formed from members of the progressive conservatives. The bloc may have some leftist tendancies, but it still is fundementally nothing more then a regional protest party.

So the Democrats can never do any wrong?

It pobably enriches Myata's life because this person has someone in government to blame all of their problems on. Just like the bush haters.
-
What campaign were you watching the slip was at the Rallies not the dedate.
-
There is an oxymoron the BQ doing something to to benefit all of Canada, don't foll yourself it was harper's slip on arts and culture that did it, it was nothing the bloc did.
-
Don't be foolish, Harper got more then 20%, it was 37%, newfoundland didn't stop Harper and neither did the Quebec or the bloc. It was Harpers own comments about artisits and gala events that stopped the CPC just short of a majority.

So voter fraud doesn't bother you.......
