  1. I don't know what I'm more happy about, 4 more years of Bush or watching the vitriolic Bush haters wallowing in their own bitter, irrational hatred. What I would give to be in the same room as Michael Moore or at the CBC to hear their crying tantrums. Now we just need to endure the whining excuses of why Kerry lost. Who will be the next Catherine Harris? Maybe they'll blame the Ohio ballots, maybe voter cheating, perhaps Fox News. But really it just comes down to this. The left needs to realize that bigotry goes both ways. You can't spew hatred against values, like religion, that the majority of people believe. With the overwhelming control of the senate and the house, it's time the dems realize that they've lost touch with Americans. I'm just glad Canadians have no say in it.
  2. I find your reactions amusing considering the above quoted article claimed: Yet you're so offended you have to resort to: Anyhow Tell me when were we in such desperate need? When were we personally attacked? Certainly not WW2. If Hitler was the problem today we'd be sitting on the side lines critisizing the US for not minding their own business, being war mongers guilty of targeting civilians with their carpet bombing, and accusing them of deflecting the war to Hitler rather than the Japanese since it was them who attacked the Pearl Harbor not the Germans. lol. If you say so.
  3. You're right. I still don't see what that has to do with anything. All I see is either an attempt to draw me into a straw man argument or a feeble attempt to attack me based on my forum nick.
  4. I don't know, that's the whole question, when does life begin? I'm open minded. Didn't they charge him with murder before laci's law? Anyway, what's your feeling, do you think he should've been charged with murder? I'm not so sure he should have if abortion is legal.
  5. MS I don't see what your hatred of conservatives has to do with Canada's problems other than your emotionally charged knee jerk reactions to everything under the sun.
  6. Yes I noticed this too, I found it quite amusing.
  7. Yikes, you're kinda heartless. What if we terminate you right now instead? Then we'd have a few more acres of green, less CO2 emissions, less poop coming from you etc. Perhaps you should make yourself a sacrifice for the environment. (just kidding please don't) The abortion debate will never be resolved but as far as I'm concerned, I don't see the difference between a baby in the womb and out. You try to make it a religious debate but for me it is about logic. What I find interesting is that the libs in California can legalize abortion yet charge Scott Peterson with murder for killing his "fetus".
  8. It's this kind of attitude that embarasses me to be Canadian. It's a sort of quiet arrogance. We don't shout from the roof tops that we are better than everyone else in the world but it's often implied in our talk. I find it sad that we are not the same country that once had the 5th largest military in the world and that would stand up to tyrants like Hitler. I find it sad that our health care system allows thousands to die waiting in lines for the sake of affordability. (Personally I'd rather be alive and broke rather than dead and wealthy. ) I've heard more than once from visitors from other countries "you have such high taxes, but where does the money go?" "your roads and highways are terrible, your healthcare system doesn't work and I still see plenty of poor people here". What's more, we offer great opportunities for terrorists. Last night on CNN they did a story on our immigration policy that is so liberal that we are a terrorist haven. And as our junk submarines get towed in by the US and Brits and our helicopters fall out of the sky, our PM has the gall to go to the UN and lecture the world about getting involved in crises like that going on the Sudan. I think there are plenty of reasons to be upset with Canada these days.
  9. Well BR the article discusses Kofi being divisive and inconsistent. I think it did a good job at proving Kofi as a polarizing leader. Unfortunately we rarely hear this side of the debate as Kofi is a liberal media darling.
  10. It's not the full article, so sorry not a copyright violation.
  11. I think this one goes to Bush. He finally came out swinging and hit Kerry on his record. Bush needed to get his butt kicked in the first one to make him mad but this time he wasn't so nice. Bush even slammed Kerry in domestic policies. But I think you're right Kimmy, Joe Average goes more for the smile and polish so who knows. I'm not sure the polls can be correctly relyed on. Aparently Terry McAuliffe and the 527's are encourageing all the Bush haters to vote in all these on line polls and linking their web sites too them. Although there's always the disclaimmer that they're "not scientific" people buy into them.
  12. See you can't have reasonable dialogue with these Bush haters. There is no rationality nor reason to them. Just as a sidenote, was happy to send off my wife's absentee vote for Bush/Cheney last night.
  13. Great new column from Billy O. Canada even manages to get an honourable mention. High HopesAs a sidnote, Bill is a loudmouth and is very arrogant. He tends to piss off the left which is likely why he has so much appeal.
  14. This whole instituting the draft thing, is something the left in the US is using as a scare tactic against Bush. There is no evidence what so ever that Bush will reinstitute the draft. In fact it's the dems who are trying to impose the draft. Most notable Charlie Rangel has his bill in congress to impose the draft.
  15. Hugo. I find it funny to listen to a Canadian lecturing the US about 'big government' and limitations on civil liberties. Here in Canada I can't even watch the news channel I want to.
  16. A couple of months ago. They let out bus loads from Abu Ghraib. You probably missed it because the media was more focused on the picture of a German Sheperd barking at a naked terrorist.
  17. LOL I can just imagine you sitting on your couch watching the debate shakey. Sitting there, your hands shaking with rage, thinking "I hate him, I hate him, I hate him". lol You and Michael Moore. Anyway I think Kerry came off better, looked more Presidential, more articulate. I was surprised that Bush wasn't more comfortable like in 2000 when he beat Gore. We'll see how it affects the polls. Paul Martin got creamed in our debates but still won. However, Americans are more open minded so we'll see.
  18. Wow these rich individuals own whole industries? Where is this? I guess as one of those poor men I'm glad that the rich men are able to hire me. Because hey I've never been hired by a poor guy. I'm glad that they pay more than their share for my health care that I wouldn't be able to afford otherwise. And as a poor guy I've never been forced to go to war... and neither have my poor cousins in the US. I don't feel exploited or entitled to their wealth. In fact I'm pretty happy because I know that if I work hard I can some day make a little money too. It's called incentive.
  19. Honestly I don't see it. Perhaps it's the media ignoring it. But all I see are Muslims buring the star of David and the US flag. I see Muslim clerics declaring Jihad. I've seen it here in my own city. And most common is the whole "I disagree with terrorism, but the US pushes them to do it". A fatwa (sic) is declared against people for writing books dishonoring their families but why are their no fatwas against these terrorists?
  20. Hey you forgot bigot and redneck. How is it that I am intolerant yet you are the one making personal attacks? Typical from the "open minded" left.
  21. Poor comparison. Christians aren't crashing planes into buildings in the name of God. And if they did Christian leaders would loudly condemn it. Instead we have muslims around the world cutting peoples heads off, committing genocide and declaring holy war against the entire non-muslim world. Not only this but they are preaching hate towards Jews in their mosks.
  22. Yes but my argument was that the US chose to defend itself in the most efficient was possible with least possible colateral damage. But this is a very narrow view which ignores situations where the US has defended others beyond it's own self interest such as in Serbia or Haiti. The US defends Taiwan and Israel among many other countries but I don't see the self interest there. When they intervene in purely humanitarian causes like Somalia they get burned by an antagonistic UN so I guess I wouldn't blame them for not doing more "for the good of the world". Their motives will always be questioned. A luxury afforded to a country which doesn't spend a dime on defence by mooching off the US. I don't buy you're stat of 70% innocent at all. I think if I were a soldier who had a prisoner who had just killed americans or who had raped and murdered women I wouldn't be too friendly either. I don't consider being naked as being torture. Dookie is right though, why is it that the US is the only country held to the standards of the Geneva Convention? No one seems to be outraged by the beheadings and torture coming from the "insurgents". It seems to be written off as a product of "their culture"
  23. Since we are over simplifying things, - remember "my enemy's enemy is my friend". At the time when Iran and the Soviet Union were real threats the US funded the Afgani freedom fighters. So ya I guess they could've gone in and taken the Russian out of Afganistan themselves, that would've been pretty wouldn't it. Or they could've taken on Iran themselves but that would've made them "unilateral occupiers". Oh you guys love that picture, somehow it tells it all doesn't it. I guess it's kinda similar to Paul Martin shaking hands with George Bush eh since he's such an evil despot.Nevertheless this is sidesteping the issue. My point is Canada is very good at lecturing the US how to act but refuses to act themselves. Sure the world should act in Sudan but I don't see Canada willing to sacrifice any troops for humanity. No we'll just send some peacekeepers after the dirty work is done. It's always the same story isn't, lecturing from the self righteous Canadians about whether either the US should or should not be somewhere. Always concerned with how the US is responsible for calamity in the world. When it comes down to it, Canada does nothing but give lip service.
