  1. BD I'm not sure what kind of examples you are looking for. Regarding persecution during Christmas, examples are everywhere from here to Plano Texas. In Denver a nativity float was banned from the Christmas parade, in cities around the province nativity scenes are being hidden away. At a school near my home children are not allowed to sing christmas carols but are permitted to sing other religions songs. At a hospital here a cross was covered in the chapel. In NYC two children were punished for bowing their heads before eating then humiliated by the teacher in front of the class. Another great example is the "Jesusland" map and all the commentary which tried to portray the Bush win as a result of irrational religious thought. To say that all this is some fundamentalist agenda to shove Jesus down everyone's throats is secularist spin. Even the use of the word 'fundamentalist' used so often in the media implies a negative conotation. You yourself have taken many opportunities to bash and generalize about Christians.
  2. Well put. This is what I was trying to get at. All good, well thought out comments rather than knee jerk reactions for such a controversial subject.
  3. Well the Americans don't pay much attention to us up here, but perhaps it's about time Canada suffers the consequences for it's open anti-Americanism. Perhaps you're right, it may just be similar to what we see on a national scale. Mainly a left of center population with a small percentage of loud mouthed NDP's constantly trying to steal the spotlight. Fairly successful strategy for them though, as the saying goes, the squeeky wheel gets the grease. As for intolerance, it's usually trait attributed to the right for things like our opposition to certain immigration policies, gay marriage etc., fairly or unfairly. The left often claims tolerence and open minded thinking. Yet the left in Canada seem to be tolerant of nationalities with exception of Americans and religions except Chistianity and Judaism. In fact they extremely prejudicial towards these groups of people.
  4. Then why not ban abortions when the woman is 8 months pregnant? If justice is blind and everyone is equal in the eyes of the law then it shouldn't matter if the murderer is the mother or someone else. I'm not trying to be disingenuous. Perhaps we should outlaw late term abortions where the fetus would survive outside the womb?
  5. paraphrased, "Opinions that I don't agree with make me uncomfortable! Please leave! " -kimmy Better yet it reflects a deeper, intolerant socialist idiology so pervasive on this forum. How they'd love to be rid of us Albertans. But then they wouldn't have any wealth creators to tax. And who would they have to hate? Balance in government is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. I even wanted more liberals to win in the last provincial election (and some separtists )
  6. Because there's a distinction between a fetus as a living thing and a real person. It's a necessary one for balancing individual rights. Interesting. I'm listening. I've mentioned this to you before but if this is the definition we are going to use, there is no way that Scott Peterson should have been charged with the murder of his unborn son. And adding to that, if we're not going to recognize the fetus as an idividual, then there should not have been an amber alert for the stolen fetus. No one should be charged for any crime other than assault in any attack resulting in the death of a pregnant woman's fetus.
  7. So as long as we kill it before it is entirely out of the womb it's ok? How did we come to this conclusion?
  8. Fantastic! I loved every second of it. The best was watching Parrish bumbling all flustered with anger at Carlson mocking her. I'm glad Americans are finally realizing the extent of the enemy that exists to the north excepting as Coulter admitted us rightists in the west who are not so bigoted. This comment perfectly displays the complete arrogance and hypocrisy of Canadians. I love it!
  9. With that logic, in a "free" society a mother should be permitted to terminate the life of her child if she chooses to not be a mother. In truth, a free and just society would not permit anyone to terminate the life of a child that could live out of the womb. In Canada it would have been legal for the mother of the stolen fetus to kill that baby. It makes no sense whatsoever.
  10. From Fetus to BabyIt is baffleing to me how the left chooses to define a baby or a fetus. When a pregnant mother describes the child in her womb she refers to it as her baby not her fetus. Recent cases such as the one refered to above and the Scott Peterson case in which he was convicted for killing his "unborn child" place the pro-choice movement in jeapordy. Finally logic is replacing the foolish belief that it is ok to murder depending on the value you place on a child in the womb or the name you decide to call it.
  11. A neo-conservative is a liberal who was mugged by reality. - Irving Kristol or With out the US, Canada would be Honduras but colder and a lot less interesting. - Tucker Carlson
  12. As much as Canadians think they matter, this decision will recieve little more than a page 10 one sentence mention in the world papers. Canada is irrelevant.
  13. Can you give me an example of this? Yes, I'm talking about the left not being happy with a civil union. They have to steal the word "marriage" which is a word religions hold sacred. To me it doesn't seem to be about a homosexual's rights. It seems to be more about shoving it in religious believers faces and saying "your beliefs are wrong".
  14. Like Ann Coulter says, if you're argueing with a liberal and they don't fly into a tantrum you're doing something wrong. It would add that this is because the left forms their opinions on the basis of emotion rather than logic. No doubt there are outspoken radicals on the religious right which push their beliefs on others. Unfortunately you fail to realize that you yourself are guilty of the same type of "holier than thou", self righteous preaching. And what does Reagan have to do with anything other than when ever you run out of things cry about you grasp for the only thing you can think of in attempt to insult me personally. Move to the US? Not now, I like Alberta. It's even more conservative than many of the states.
  15. My hatred? I'm not the one who is consistently posting anti-Christian messages. I like gays. I have a few gay friends. I respect them and the feelings they have towards the people they love. I believe they should have the same privilages that everyone else has. A civil union would give them these privilages. I also believe that the state has no right to impose legislation on a religious institution that many hold personal and sacred. And don't preach to me about what tone to take on this day. You have no idea what this day means to me. It's people like you who have brought this country and it's people down from what it used to be. A proud nation that sacrificed and stood against hate and tyranny.
  16. Well if someone is harrassing you as often as you say, and are invading your home and your privacy perhaps you should get a restraining order. Otherwise, perhaps we should legislate a ban on girlscouts selling cookies, hockey kids selling chocolate bars, the cancer society from canvasing, or anyone who approaches anyone else in a public park. Why not celebrate diversity and the fact that we live in a country where we're allowed the freedom to express our beliefs? The truth is it goes much deeper than someone merely knocking on your door once a year. What bothers you is that you believe in something.
  17. Good, I'm happy to see you radical hatemongers fester in your rage for another four years. And then if we're lucky guys like Moore and hollywood will push the electorate even further right and we'll get another four years of Bush. Jeb Bush.
  18. Why can't the secularist crazies keep their bedrooms out of the public? Most people don't care what people do in private. The problem is the gay lobby can't mind their own business. The left can't come to a balanced compromise with civil unions. They have to go out of their way to shove their agenda down the throats of believers in God. It's a pure hate agenda by MS types who discriminate and belittle those who have different beliefs than their own.
  19. What a load of liberal crap. Who's "invading" your home? Who are the armies of zealots stopping you where ever you go on the streets and in the parks?
  20. The Monster
  21. Oddly this comes from someone who is a proponent of taking away guns from farmers, feels entitled to the life earned wages of those who have saved, supports jailing farmers who sell their own wheat, and wants to change the definition of a religious institution. Indeed, maybe we all should mind our own business.
  22. Bush Ignores Spanish PM I love it!
  23. Examples, one need not go further than to read the numerous anti-Christian posts by you and MS. Question. Why do you insist on firing of the ad hominem insults at me. As you can see I'm quite patient. I know if I had treated you in kind you'd have been off to tattle to the moderator. Please show some emotional self control Black Dog.
