Ya nobody likes the police, whether locally or globally, but somebody has to maintain the order. With 1800 people being arrested I think the police did a great job in keeping the peace.

Well I need not tell you that I am of the proven Reaganomics school of thought. I think the fruits of W. Bush's tax cuts are beginning to come forth with a slow but steady return of economic growth. 911 was a world changing event and cost the economy and government a massive amount.

By all accounts, the RNC protests were overwhelmingly peaceful. You simply don't like the politics of the participants. Well there have been over 1000 arrests. When emergency vehicles can't get through that's endangering lives. There were anarchist groups before the convention advocating violence and sabotaging anti-terror security by doing such things as spreading gunpowder in places to throw off bomb sniffing dogs. When I watched the protesters being carried out of the convention kicking and screaming it reminded me of the two idiots who had to be carried out of the pro-US rally I was at. It just seems to be a common tactic by the extreme left. But you're right I don't like their politics.

Sorry I'm just seeing a lot of stats that have to do with the atrocities of war. A lot of civilians died in Afganistan a war ascribed above as a "US" war. Well Canada is there too. A lot of Germans died in WW2 while we were liberating Europe. War sucks.

No not at all. There is a difference between lawfully speaking your mind and breaking the law and endangering lives to get attention. The inference was clear. But I'll take it back if you'd like. Actually the average American doesn't want socialized medicine this became evident when they rejected Bill and Hilary's health care reform. I think people down there realize that if the choice is between being broke or being dead, they'll choose the former. I personally would choose neither. I believe we all should have access to affordable health care. Unfortunately both systems have some serious problems. Alberta seems to be the only province open minded enough to try and adopt the benefits of both systems rather than throwing the baby out with the bath water merely because the advantages have a US label on them.

I heard the Liberals are now praising and talking about adopting some of Alberta's ideas for health care. Has anyone else heard this? How can this be? Isn't this how they won the election, by vilifying Alberta and scaring the public into thinking Canada might become Albertitized.

But then the owners would get off with community service . I think there is no reason anyone needs to have certain breeds of dogs known for being undpredictible. I think they should be banned. But that being said I'd hate to see Ontario try to do that. They might set up a registry for a billion dollars. Then the cops could consult a list before responding to calls.
