Hating a way of life
I miss Reagan replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I'm not sure that's his mission, although I'm sure he gets enjoyment from it. I think he's more into manipulating the uneducated and easily persuaded. Colter's work, at least, takes some basic political understanding to enjoy it fully. -
Hating a way of life

Ann Coulter's intended hyperbole is apperently having it's desired effect. Pissing off the left. Evidently millions of inconsequential people enjoy her books which consistently make it to #1 the NY times. -
US A Hated Nation, Thanks To Bush
I miss Reagan replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Our rage is unfortunately not blind but your loyalty to Bush after all the lies and bs is "blind loyalty" Even his own people; are leaving in droves and admitting that the invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with WMD, terrorists; nor has it made the USA more secure from terrorist attacks. People are leaving in "droves" are they? Let's have a reference for that little tidbit. Interesting how out-migration from Canada to the US out numbers the opposite 5-1. Not even considering percentages comparing the population numbers. No it would appear that the USA is a more desirable place to be, even with Bush as president. -
There is evidence that the climate is changing but hardly the extent to which environmentalists would have us believe. It's the exageration and omission of contrary evidence that is so disheartening about the environmental movement. I think it's true that these 'doomsday' people harm the movement by turning people off. People don't like being lied to.

Good, in that case I asume you're supporting a referendum on gay marriage. That's your attempt at insulting me personally. Maybe you should be more like MS and slander Reagan. Either that or grow up.

Grow up caesar. Is it any surprise that canada refuses to lead, but rather is led by public opinion. They'll do as much as is required to keep themselves in power. Shameful.

I just finished reading the book this past weekend. An excellent book I highly recommend reading. Of course it's a fictional story but the dialogue between characters is backed up by solid references. What I think is sad, is how we're fed over and over this false science by people with an agenda. Even worse, the book exposes the damage to the environment that radical environmentalists cause the environment. What makes these types of books appear even more valid are the ad hominem attacks on their authors rather than refuting their arguments. A tactic often used by radicals like David Suzuki.

Trade war full blown threaten
I miss Reagan replied to caesar's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I think the answer to this question is the terrorists democratic rights. I think what they'd like us to believe is that the US has become, as they say, "a police state". From the picture the ACLU types paint I would expect a scene of FBI and ATF agents standing outside everyone's doors ready to knock them down any second. -
Where was it I just read something like: Canada always wants a prominant seat at the table of world issues, but when the bill comes due we go to the washroom.

No need to agree with me so fast. I don't think we need to tax the rich. I would prefer to provide incentives for the wealth creators, educated and the rich to stay in Canada by keeping taxes competitive for them. Think of all the jobs we'd have and tax revenue if we could make it profitable for companies like CSL to stay in Canada. Instead we choose to throw the baby out with the bath water based on social ideolgy. A little off topic.
-
Well I think it's possible for both. Although it seems counter-intuitive, it's proven that tax cuts generate more government revenue. Canada would be far more productive and money would be availible for better military funding. There is so much waste in Canadian government as it is that there would be plenty of money for both if we had a conservative government.

US A Hated Nation, Thanks To Bush
I miss Reagan replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Oh yes how could I forget H.W. or "the Godfather" LOL. The man responsible for Bush's Harvard and Yale education and somehow getting him out of the National Guard LOL. What about Laura Bush, was it you who was slandering her on here? I think it might make you feel better if you jumped up and down and shouted "I hate him, I hate him, I hate him" It might get out some of that blind rage. -
US A Hated Nation, Thanks To Bush
I miss Reagan replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
We don't have to invent thing that Bush is to blame for. I think he has done enough damage to world peace all on his own ( under Cheney's strings) LOL, isn't under Rumsfeld's strings? no wait Rove's strings... no... the fundamentalist Christian's strings... -
I don't see your point Cartman...

US A Hated Nation, Thanks To Bush

I'm just waiting for you guys to figure out a way to blame Bush for the Tsunamis in Asia. Hey Black Dog, how bout that recent tape of Bin Laden calling Zarqawi Iraq's Al Quida chief? -
Welfare State Key To Canada's Successful Future
I miss Reagan replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
MS also hates to hear that the US is the most generous and giving country in terms of aid within and abroad. It drives her nuts, like a vampire and daylight. -
Here are just some examples of bigoted anti-Americanism displayed by "tolerant" Canadians on this forum:

I would say it's them same people who are unable to discern between democratic sovereignty and diplomatic and econmic consequences for antagonistic actions. I think just having the review is offensive. We're not talking about Syria here. I think it's meant as a snub. Well her constituents overwhelmingly voiced their support for her by reelecting her. I think a lot of people in this country feel the way she does. I think the NDP showed their lack of class when Layton tried to incite a massive anti-US protest during the Presidential visit.

Of Course 'Kemosabe' Used To Discriminate
I miss Reagan replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Who decided it was derogatory? It kinda reminds me of a couple of dumb guys (or should I say intellectually challenged) I knew. One of them would make a benign comment to the other and a somewhat sadistic third guy would say to the other "woa, are you going to take that". You could see the fire building up in the other guys face. Then an all out brawl would begin. It reminds me of the champions of PCness and organization like the ACLU. People aren't offended until some liberal white guy comes in with an agenda and gets everyone all pissed off. Why not change the name of "White mans gap" to David Thomson Gap? because it's absurd. Who in their right mind would be offended by that. Likewise I don't think Chinese people were losing sleep at night because there was a mountain named Chinaman's Peak, I know the Chinese people I know weren't. I don't want to hurt anyones feelings, and if someone told me they were offended by something I'd certainly do my best to not do it again but I think it's out of control. Some people are just too sensitive. And just a note, referring to African Americans as "black" is now politically incorrect too. -
Of Course 'Kemosabe' Used To Discriminate
I miss Reagan replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is insane. Kimosabe means trusted friend. It's loud mouthed whiners who have driven political correctness to the same radical levels of lawsuits for spilling hot coffee. Where I live there is/was a mountain named Chinaman's Peak. They renamed it "Ha Ling Peak" because somhow refering to someones national heritage is offensive. Oddly the valley below the mountain was and is still officially named "White Man's Gap". -
Well it seems as though the elites in Ottawa have managed to alienate Quebec, the West, and finally Atlantic Canada is refusing to be bought off. Perhaps rather than separation we should think about kicking central Canada out of confederation. Let the Balkinization begin.

The liberals are intent on keeping Newfies on the dole. Talk about a classic abusive relationship. Good for Williams for standing up to the nanny state. Alberta should have taking down the maple leaf long ago.

I think it is worth distinguishing between anti-Americanism" and "anti-Bush". I see what you're saying. Canada certainly does not have the might or will to ever take on the US in a military capacity. However, the days are gone where Canadians merely approached the Canada-US relationship as petty rivalry. I think Canada is an enemy. Our government has shifted to taking an antagonistic approach to US policy rather than a neutral approach. It seems as though Canada will go out of their way to push the limit of pissing off Americans such as providing a haven for AWOL US troops, who volunteered for service BTW. I think I posted the Fox poll on here before which showed the majority of Canadian teens see the US as "evil". That kind of opinion comes from our anti-American media and education system. And although Bush is a lightning rod I don't think the hatred is solely the result of he being president. Carolyn Parrish certainly doesn't distinguish between him and the rest of America.
