  1. Exactly. We have the never-ending problem of separation because of our cultural mosaic rather than a melting pot. Then result becomes everyone from the natives to the Quebeckers to the religious zealots whineing for special status.
  2. MS you have some obvious communist opinions. I'm curious, do you consider your self a communist?
  3. Parasites? LOL Who will you tax to death when they are gone? How will you pay for your precious wasteful spending programs? How will you pay for healthcare? Remember that the top 20% of wage earners pay 80% of the taxes. And I think we know that included in the liberal definition of "rich" is the middle class so don't forget that the top 50% of wage earners pay 96% of the taxes. BTW have you wondered why we have such a shortage of doctors here? Do you understand why Canada's most innovative and talented individuals go to the US? Do you understand why our own PM keeps his business overseas? Can you be any more myopic?
  4. Did you read the whole article Maple? Do you find her other comments credible as well: What Kelley said about ... "Frank Sinatra · His mother was a New Jersey abortionist · He ate bacon and eggs from a prostitute's breasts · He bought $200,000 worth of furniture in cash in wrapping paper from a Las Vegas casino Nancy Reagan · She is a witch who managed to trap Ronald into marrying her by getting pregnant · She seduced Sinatra during lunch at the White House · The Reagans smoked marijuana when he was governor of California The royal family · The Queen Mother may have been the illegitimate daughter of a maid · The Queen and Princess Margaret were conceived by artificial insemination Jackie Onassis · She had electric shock therapy, while John F Kennedy's sister had a lobotomy " Come on, quit with the cheap posts trying to incite rage from those whom you disagree with. When Clinton was President there was a radical film out which tried to implicate him in a bunch of murders. These not only make you look foolish but don't do anything for your cause.
  5. You make some decent arguments but I hope you would hold other leaders to the same standards. For instance Kerry supported this war. Clinton supported the war. And it did cost a lot but how much would have been enough money from other sources to satisfy you? I don't know how "everything" could be an "excuse" for 9-11. It was a pretty big event that changed the world. Russia seems to have awakened to the reality of the battle we're up against in the world today. It seems they have decided to adopt some of the Bush doctrine. That being to seek out the terrorists where ever they are and not wait for them to attack. As for being a polarizing President, this is true but Clinton was quite a divider himself. As for Bush's faith well most Americans share the same faith, it isn't Canada. I'm not sure how he sells out the environment for corporate greed. And this business of getting the position of president because of who he is is the lamest argument in the Bush haters handbook.
  6. When will the self-righteous Canadians realize the inevitablity of consequences for poor diplomacy, such as calling the US President a moron or calling Americans idiots and bastards. Common sense would dictate that making such insults would not appeal to US leaders good nature. But still Canadians feel entitled to everything without cost. Still, Canadians are just as protectionist with their precious Can-cult laws. Oddly most Canadians want Kerry to win, who is completely protectionistic in comparison to Bush.
  7. Harper is right on the money. It's all about diplomacy. It's the same reason the Germans are crying right now because the US is removing their bases. Canada should get ready for some hard times if it doesn't shape up. With China ready to take over as the the US's largest trading partner in the next few years, the US will have little need for Canada. (Except for us US friendly Albertans and our oil )
  8. -MSYa what was that correlation you were making between Christians and the rich? Looks to me like a little liberal double talk going on, hmm. My reference to your trolling is your blanket insults towards one group of people. I'm just waiting for you to say that all Jews want to take over the world. You appear to be trying to incite anger from one group. That's the only reason I can figure out that you'd go way off topic and try to connect all rich people as Christian.
  9. You are a trolling wing nut.
  10. I think we need to go over the simple tax analogy again for you MS. "Let's put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand. Suppose that every day, ten men go out for dinner. The bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this: The first four men -- the poorest -- would pay nothing; the fifth would pay $1, the sixth would pay $3, the seventh $7, the eighth $12, the ninth $18, and the tenth man -- the richest -- would pay $59. That's what they decided to do. The ten men ate dinner in the restaurant every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement -- until one day, the owner threw them a curve (in tax language a tax cut). "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily meal by $20." So now dinner for the ten only cost $80.00. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still eat for free. But what about the other six -- the paying customers? How could they divvy up the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his "fair share?" The six men realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, Then the fifth man and the sixth man would end up being PAID to eat their meal. So the restaurant owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay. And so the fifth man paid nothing, the sixth pitched in $2, the seventh paid $5, the eighth paid $9, the ninth paid $12, leaving the tenth man with a bill of $52 instead of his earlier $59. Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to eat for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. "I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man, but he, (pointing to the tenth) got $7!". "Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man, "I only saved a dollar, too, ........It's unfair that he got seven times more than me!". That's true!" shouted the seventh man, why should he get $7 back when I got only $2?" The wealthy get all the breaks!". Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison, "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!" The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up. The next night he didn't show up for dinner, so the nine sat down and ate without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered, a little late what was very important. They were FIFTY-TWO DOLLARS short of paying the bill! Imagine that! And that, boys and girls, journalists and college instructors, is how the tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up at the table anymore. Where would that leave the rest? Unfortunately, most taxing authorities anywhere cannot seem to grasp this."
  11. Now all rich people are Christians? Do you read what you post? You compare Christianity to Organized crime? Cookoo
  12. I prefer to keep the rich here. The top 50% of wage earners pay 96% of the total tax and the top 20% of wage earners pay 80% of the total tax. It's something the Saskatchewan NDP government is realizing. Hey if we provide tax incentives for the rich perhaps they'll do business in our province. Our royal highness PM PM has realized that he can locate his business in a more tax friendly environment. Our best doctors and scientists have realized they can do their work in more tax friendly environments. I for one have never been hired by a poor person. I'm glad my company here in Alberta recieves tax breaks that enable them to pay me.
  13. I've said this before but I think it needs to be said again. Us Albertans take care of our poor better than anyone. We volunteer more than anyone else in Canada and give more in charity per capita. On a local level we vote very liberal. What we don't like are you out East taking OUR money and squandering it away on programs like the gun registry, wheat board, and Kyoto that oppress us. But keep up the talk about us "spoiled Albertans" it only works to our advantage.
  14. This is your logic at work: Let's go and prop the world up with dictatorships across the world so that it will be very easy to access foreign resources. Oh, and if these dictators don't toe the transnational line close enough, we will just kill them, and replace them with somebody else who will be more obedient. Eventually the citizens of these foreign countries wake up and realize they are being ripped off. When they complain to their own governments, they are thrown in jail. The system is so unfair, so stacked against them that eventually they resort to violence, like leveling the world trade centre, these terrible people, these terrorists, who just want their national governments to control their own resources on behalf of their citizens. Sounds almost like Albertans doesn't it? Spare us the company line - we have all heard it before! The only thing that is going on, and that has been going on since the beginning, is class warfare. The rich against the poor. You can try to disguise it up any way you want, different religion, different language, different colour skin, different race, but those are all smokescreens. It is always the rich against the poor, it always has been, and it always will be. Don't worry the greed factor is alive and well throughout the land. A lot of people here would not know an original thought if it hit them smack in their face. Where in the hell did that come from, and what does it have to do with the price of beans in Seattle?
  15. "You have no such power. Alberta can't separate. You will listen to us who are born to govern you lowly uneducated Albertans. Listen to me a wise and inspired liberal who knows what is best for you."
  16. MS are you for real LOL. Sometimes I wonder if you're just a troller trying to inspire us rightists to fire back at your insanity. I wish there were more like you in the public spouting off these kind of comments. It would truly give us separatists enough power to follow through.
  17. Well yoyodyne I don't know where to start. Perhaps after I finish my critical analysis of War and Peace I'll get to your post. Anyhow the jist of it seems to be what arguments you will not accept. That being said it seems to me that I'm not the one with the problem of being closed minded. And part of your problem is that you assume that just because you voted for Bush 41 and Bush 43 while being uninformed, that all republicans are uninformed. Personally I try to get a hold of all the information I can from all sides. My conclusion is that libs tend to base their positions on emotion rather than logic. You should tune into Hannity . Ya I was hoping the same thing for Clinton but the guy never stops with the attention seeking. Always trying to steal the spotlight.
  18. With the polls trending downward it is inevitable that the mudslinging against Bush will reach epic proportions among the intolerant left. What gets me is the irrationality of the hatred. For instance the so called anti-war activists put Kerry on a pedestal as if as by some divine miracle doves will fly and harps will play as radical Islamic groups will seek to understand the US and seek peace, AIDS will be cured, and all children in the US will attain near perfect grades in school. These same folks ignore facts like Bush dedicating 15 billion to AIDS relief, creating an education program which gives unprecedented funding to struggling schools and promises perpetuity if the schools take responsibility and show growth. Regarding the most loudly proclaimed hatred of Bush, that being that he is a "war monger" the litany of double standards are seemingly limitless. It was ok for Clinton to award Halliburton a no-bid contract in Yugoslavia but not for Bush to do the same in Iraq. And where were the protesters when Clinton spent 77 billion on regime change in Serbia? Where were they when innocent Christian Serbs were bombed on behalf of Albanian Muslims? And while Bush suffers character assassination for landing on an aircraft carrier in a jump-suit Clinton is still the champion for the little guy as he shows utter lack of character by his moral ineptitude while in office. And Bush is so often decried as the one responsible for the lack of security on 9-11 while Clinton for previous 8 years cut military and intelligence spending to record low levels. And hardly any mention that Clinton refused to take custody of Bin Laden when given the chance. And today while the US economy is in a remarkable upswing considering the catastrophic events in 2001 the left forgets about the market crash in 2000 under Clinton. But what is most hypocritical about those who are going to vote for Kerry and the Dems is that both Clinton and Kerry acknowledged that Sadam had WMD and was constructing nukes. Kerry voted for the war (or at least before he voted against it?) Clinton also supported the attack on Iraq. So let's face it there was nothing Bush could do that would please those who have an irrational hatred kept so alive by our liberal media.
  19. This is a very ignorant comment indeed from someone who knows little of Russians or their culture. I was in Moscow when the radical muslims took over the theatre. I was supposed to go to the play but fortunately my Russian friends decided not to take me at the last minute. If only you knew how horrified the Russian people are over the loss of their fellow Russians.
  20. Has it ever occurred to you that people listen but do not agree with your point of view? Why is it that you Dems/Libs feel like you need to shove your views down the throats of those who disagree with you. You try to make those voting for Bush sound dumb. My experience is the opposite. When I ask those I know why they are voting for Bush I get responses such as "nobody could have handled 911 as well as Bush", "he is the most competant for defending the US", "he's tough on terrorism and brings the fight to their turf not ours", "under Bush the economy is already improving after some of the most devestating events in our country's history".
  21. The wealthiest province in Canada (Ontario) can't keep it's own house in order so they want to steal it from us. I'll add my support to Stoker and Jay and say bring it on. Any more fuel to the alienation fire is welcome from the point of view of this Alberta Seperatist.
