Why Leftists Are So Unhappy
godzilla replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
certain people who call themselves "conservative" have stagnant mental models of the universe or follow leaders unquestioningly who will provide those answers. i've identified studies before that provide this unquestioning as a reason for conservative emotional solidity. there is no fear of the wrong answers. you can argue till you are blue in the face with a creationist that the universe was not created seven thousand years ago. i've argued with people with extreme "left" views and they will concede aspects of their belief system far sooner than "conservatives". questioning reality leads to emotional insecurity. its human nature. happiness is very important but the fact that it is prevalent in a subgroup of a society does not justify injustices to others. most of the german population were happy under Hitler and supported actions against Jews. -
Trump seeks to block Stormy Daniels, Michael Cohen from testifying at NY hush money trial Trump lawyers are concerned about the testimony from: - Stormy Daniels - Karen McDougal - Micheal Cohen - Rudy Giuliani - Allen Weisselberg among others. i think this leaves nobody but maybe Trump to testify... he can take the 5th. he's innocent... as long as nobody testifies! hahaha!

Trump’s Next Legal Move: Personal Bankruptcy

Trump Org’s false financial statements cost banks $168M in interest: NY AG financial expert the fact that the victims did not want to claim to be victims (like domestic violence) does not matter in law. one defames a "gold digging ho" by calling them a "gold digging ho". -

Trump Derangement Syndrome
godzilla replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
as taken from Conservapedie: Trump Derangement Syndrome so just to be clear, a real Encyclopedia just summarizes reference information. its not a real Encyclopedia if it just claims facts without reference. as an example the following is without reference and indeed is not currently recognized in the field of mental health: "It is a form of mental illness and mental declination." you could have used the following from a real Encyclopedia: Trump derangement syndrome but again, if you are not interested in all views on a topic, and would prefer just to be told what to believe... then your source works. -
Trumps wins hands down in the SC GOP primary! the only problem is he only got 60% of the vote. Trump: "i have never seen such solidarity in the GOP before!". Haley voters state that they will not vote for Trump in the general election. This is not the usual way things work where traditional GOP supporters simply fall in line with whomever is eventually the nominee. With all Trump vs Biden national polls within margin of error... then the general election will be close statistically... but Trump's history of increasingly losing the popular vote puts him in a very tight spot. the "path" through the electoral college is the only way for Trump but... given this primary softness, its a real problem that the DNC does not have to deal with. Biden is not popular with Democrats but its apparently pretty hard to find traditional Democratic supporters saying that they won't vote for him if he's the nominee. Hidden in Trump’s big South Carolina win: A not-so-small problem for him in November

Russia is losing the war... its threats like this that make it obvious. but they see a chance with their influence on Trump and now the GOP. a chance they are not going to leave on the table. x-Russian president says returning Russia to 1991 borders will lead to war with West Putin takes a flight in nuclear-capable bomber in a tough message to the West ahead of election

geesh... just more name calling. there really is no debate on this site at all anymore thanks to @Deluge, @WestCanMan and @CdnFox. all i was suggesting was that one party was going to make this issue look a certain way and that was going to work. and its going to work because factions of MAGA are not shy about their desire to fuse government and church. Mike Johnson invoked God in a GOP presentation on keeping the majority. It didn’t land well.

a real head scratcher. if moderates and independents thought that the GOP would provide some form of abortion in future... this happens. Top Republicans defend IVF after Alabama ruling whether it gets interpreted correctly or not... this is not going to help the GOP. it makes the GOP look like their extreme religious component. wanting to ban abortion all together.

you only say such things when you have nothing. don't think its obvious to everyone on this forum. as soon as you can't respond intelligently then you devolve into name calling etc etc. but you will NOT accept other viewpoints. you will NOT concede other facts... EVER. unable to think for yourself you accept mental models of fear and hate provided to you and will go to your grave supporting them.

Russia! Russia! Russia!
godzilla replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
no, we're not to conclude that the FBI is a criminal enterprise. there are thousands of people in this organization who are doing amazing work all the time... as soon as the crimes of the political class are involved then we should avoid calling their actions political. the political class should be squeaky clean. they should not be breaking laws. and if the FBI should always be on a "witch hunt"... because all police work is a "witch hunt". its because criminals don't run to the law to confess their crimes. the traditional GOP, the party of "law and order" would never claim that the FBI were corrupt. but the MAGA crowd do because the people who tell them what they think are corrupt. -
Russia! Russia! Russia!
godzilla replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
well, they shouldn't have. just like the GOP shouldn't have relied on this stuff. it comes to bite them. -
more ouch for the GOP investigation into the Bidens... again, Russia! Russia! Russia! attempting to help the Trump win an election. DOJ filing says FBI informant told investigators he got Hunter Biden dirt from Russian officials "During his custodial interview on February 14, Smirnov admitted that officials associated with Russian intelligence were involved in passing a story about Businessperson 1,” the filing reads. Businessperson 1 is Hunter Biden." the fact that the GOP would even consider raw intelligence information from Smirnov show how partisan and open to foreign influence Jordan and Comer are on this file.

Kevin O’Leary says he will no longer invest in ‘loser’ New York after Trump verdict my favourite shill of a "successful" business investor... made all of his money from selling a worthless holding during the internet bubble. peddles FTX like a snake oil salesman and now expects people to believe this cruft. he's like Trump in many ways... a successful business man as "played on tv".
