  1. 1. Right, schools can teach about pre-marital sex, masturbation, abortion etc since these are facts that exist, just like they can teach about LGBT issues or the existence of Pride celebrations. However, it's totally inappropriate for public schools to take positions of support or non-support over these issues. Should conservative provincial governments be able to push curriculum that celebrates pro-life or "sex before marriage is bad" positions, even raising a pro-life flag or celebrating "pro-life month"? This shouldn't be a thing, and you'd probably have an issue with it as a parent as would others. 2. Gov funding is different than celebrating the event itself, like putting up Pride flags on city buildings, city hall etc. Would you be ok with pro-life flags at Queen's Park, or a flag representing being against youth medical gender transitions, or teaching those values in public schools? 3. I never said anything about funding. I'm talking about the state itself taking part in/celebrating such events.
  2. Well you have people of all religious backgrounds and views who send their children to public schools, and they have a right to not have schools push certain views like this on their children per Pride. It's essentially state propaganda. I think politicians and parties can back Pride, but the government themselves backing it presents similar problems. Like Pride flags on city flagpolls. Note that I don't personally have any issues with Pride or LGBT people/lifestyles in general.
  3. No, I mean celebrating Pride. Schools can teach about LGBT. I'm not anti-LGBT, chill.
  4. Every individual is free to celebrate Pride. Governments and public schools probably shouldn't be pushing it. If students want to celebrate it they have the right.
  5. That teacher is in trouble. And if you're in a public school they shouldn't be celebrating beliefs, lifestyles, religions etc. You can teach facts about it, that's it.
  6. Doing a quick google search, the parts I underlined above are true. The parts in bold are false claims on your part, which you probably just took from twitter. I have no idea if it's an astroturf group or not. It's a professional association of socially conservative pediatricians. It has 700 active members, which isn't a ton. The American Academy of Pediatrics has 67k members. It's current President is a pediatric endocrinologist, which is a medical doctor specializing in endocrine glands, which are the glands that produce our hormones.
  7. Maher is sort of the George Carlin of today, but not as charming.
  8. Most of his takes in the video are correct. Ad hominems about your dislike of him is not an argument, it's a logical fallacy, and one which is 2nd from the bottom on the debate pyramid. https://www.yourlogicalfallacyis.com/ad-hominem
  9. What a terrible take.
  10. GOP are homophobic, but not as much as Hamas.
  11. In a free society people should be free to celebrate gayness if they choose, or free to not celebrate it or voice their disagreement about it.
  12. That's nonsense. Progressives are too weak and naive to solve these problems. They would endanger Israelis by empowering groups like Hamas and their supporters just like many are doing right now.
  13. What if an Islamic Caliphate empire did the same to Israeli Jews and a long time ago when conquering the country? And your race was being exterminated in Europe?
  14. This government is extremely wasteful, I would agree with that. They seem pretty apathetic to waste. They're pretty bad at management.
  15. Breaking news: Very wealthy people contribute money to and influence elections.
  16. Name all the MP's immediately, boot them from Parliament, and charge them for their crimes. I hope they get the most serious sentences possible under the law to make an example of them. Steven Chase is Senior Parliamentary reporter for Globe & Mail:
  17. Now they can prosecute the W. Bush admin too. Yeah right. I hope he goes to jail, and a lot of other politicians and White House appointees deserve it too. But if you're not in the establishment you just don't get the same protection. We know the Trudeau gov foreign interference investigation will amount to nothing, save some public opinion outrage that gets lost in the next dozen news cycles.
