Nfld Liberal will vote against the budget
noahbody replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If there's one province that shouldn't whine, it's Newfoundland. The oil revenue that has made them a have province constitutionally belongs to the federal government. I say take it back, then Newfoundland won't have to worry about the pains of being a have province ever again. -
I'm not opposed to revising the lyrics. All that needs to be done is change "God keep our land, glorious and free" to "O'Canada, glorious and free." The version I sung in elementary prior to 1980, as I recall, didn't mention God yet it seemed to do the trick.

Could U.S. Stimulus Package Hurt Canada
noahbody replied to Progressive Tory's topic in Canada / United States Relations
The Obama Koolaid doesn't taste as good now does it? It could get a lot worse for Canada too. If there's one guy who can bring out the patriotism of Americans and have them "buy American," it's Obama. This will be their path out of the recession. He may end up being great for the U.S., but McCain would've been better for Canada. -
I'd pay a lot of money to see Mr. Canada drive a drunken Kimmy around in order to point out druggies and homosexuals who gave up on Jesus. That would be priceless.

The easy solution would be to remove "God" from the anthem and replace it with "Stephen Harper."

Why is atheism seen as such a threat?

Why not flick on a light in your house and show your kids that you don't need Jesus to accomplish great things? Why hide the truth from them? -
Obama orders trials halted in Gitmo
noahbody replied to Sir Bandelot's topic in Canada / United States Relations
According to Arar's own website, he was able to describe in great detail the only times he had met the man in question. It's that he failed to mention the signing of the lease that made him look guilty. It's just not something you ask someone you barely know to do for you. The story about his friend being sick is the equivalent to a kid getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar and saying "It's really not what it looks like, honest." -

Would you characterize Thomas Edison as "a burden to society"? -

According to Jesus, you should give them soup. -
Why is atheism seen as such a threat?
noahbody replied to Melanie_'s topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
So who do you think will get into heaven first, the blindly devoted man who drives and points his finger or the atheist who stops and buys the homeless man a bowl of soup? -
I would like to read it.

Please Mr. Ignatieff, do not appease Harper
noahbody replied to Barts's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Are you suggesting that living in a riding of a university somehow makes you more intelligent? That could be useful for a job interview: Interviewer: I see you went to Yale. Candidate: I lived in the same riding. Interviewer: Very impressive. -
Online voting increases voter turnout minimum 30%
noahbody replied to CAMP's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Voter fraud was attempted in Calgary in 2004. What prevented it from succeeding was the person tried to drop of a large number of ballots, which, of course, drew suspicion. Many of the ballots had similar handwriting as well, which was evidence of fraud. Voter fraud would be too easy to accomplish with Internet voting. -
Who Should be the Next Conservative Leader?
noahbody replied to Progressive Tory's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If you're one of the knives out for Harper, he doesn't have to worry about being cut. -

Do we really need to give 30% more taxpayer dollars to political parties for the sake of those who really don't care enough to vote in the first place? -
I have to assume Guite is now collecting a fat pension funded by taxpayers. Is this not insane? If he was guilty of defrauding taxpayers of $1.6 million (correction to posted figure of $2 million), why the hell are we paying him? Should his pension not be clawed back for repayment?

Rick Mercer Helps Michael Ignatieff Move
noahbody replied to Progressive Tory's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I want a citation for "Harper was saying that we should put all our remaining savings in the stock market." He never suggested anything remotely like that. I don't care if you dislike Harper, but it's apparent your dislike is largely based upon emotion and fiction. -

Maybe you should look up the definition of a separatist. Are you saying Ezra Levant and Harper are the same person? Ever read it? And how do you feel about the Chretien Liberals and what they did to health care? Citation please? Western Interest group? You mean representing citizens is wrong? And their leader was a Communist. No wonder you like them. -
Obama orders trials halted in Gitmo
noahbody replied to Sir Bandelot's topic in Canada / United States Relations
He was the one who abandoned Canada. Let's give a terrorist money. Brilliant. Arar should have received very little. He was, IMO, largely responsible for what happened to him. I'm referring to answering questions falsely and making himself look guilty. He f***ed up, just as much as everyone else involved. David Milgaard, a completely innocent man who lost 21 years of his life only got $10 million. -

noahbody replied to Melanie_'s topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Why does he children die of starvation in Africa? Why does he give young and old the pain of cancer? Why would he do nothing when Hitler was putting Jews in ovens? Why does this God sit back and watch as young children get molested? I'm not sure if you have to be more blind to believe in God, or to worship one so sick, twisted and cruel. -
Has Barack Obama rendered Harper extinct?
noahbody replied to Barts's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Yeah, Obama wants to increase troops in Afghanistan, Harper wants to get out. Who do you support here? -

Replace "Atheism" with "The survival of our church" and it becomes a meaningful statement. -
Ignatieff won't speculate on acceptable size of deficit...
noahbody replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is called playing to the crowd. The dollar amount will be acceptable to Ignatieff because he, more than anyone, has has had the opportunity to influence it. -

You actually think he or any of his advisors didn't realize this? Maybe you're right. There's no way, Harper would ever put the country ahead of his party or his desire for power and spreading evil. Except for his decision to tax income trusts, which clearly wasn't good for his party's popularity. But he still didn't do that for the good of the country. That was only done because hates old people.
