  1. What a silly correlation. Oil companies don't need the US to defend their interests. Talisman, a small player, defended their interests in a very violent Sudan until shareholder pressure took them out. The US is after terrorists. I have no problem with that. Try telling that propaganda to someone who does not know better. Oil controls the USA government The following link contains links to oil controlling the Sudan and ME actions. http://www.doublestandards.org/oil.html Talisman defended nothing the USA did on behalf of the oil companies in the Sudan. Google is your friend! http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=05/05/03/1357228 And Talisman should have gotten out of the Sudan long before it did, Blood for Oil!
  2. I actually took a screen shot of it at 1238 PST in case it disappeared. So I have it on file!!!! It was Military Quote #183 of 1417 and it said: "Lets us never forget the duty, which we have taken upon us" - Adolph Hitler Nor am I accusing anyone of anything regarding the Nazis, so please stop putting words in my mouth,. Moreover, I have every right to be turned off by seeing that quote in the upper right corner of the army.ca website the minute I start searching for Canadian soldiers points of view. Not impersonating anything, so really not worried about that threat implied or otherwise. As you all you saying I am wrong about Peace Keeping here ya go: http://www.rmc.ca/academic/gradrech/dorn32_e.html One needs only google Canada and peacekeepers historical, training or whatever you want in the question, and you will find ample evidence of what I said. Harper was warned way back in June 2006 NOT to follow US policies in Afghanistan: http://www.senliscouncil.net/modules/media...eleases/64_news
  3. Funny, I provide credible links to what is going there, and you all skirt around them discounting them wrongly. I think you are all going way over board in prostestations, and in urging people not to think about what OUR military is doing in OUR names. And BTW, I went to Army.ca to have a look around to try and see things from today's Canadian military, and the first thing I saw was a quote of Adolph Hitlers. I left immediately that said enough! As for the nonsense about trying to say Canadians have not been focused on our military being Peace Keeper's and our military having that same ideology, you are way off base. I sincerely hope that the opposition does NOT fast track the billions Harper wants to spend.
  4. Same here. While I think democracy is a great thing, pretending that the establisment of democracy there as a fall back from the WMD raison d'etre was wrong. There was too much totalitarian baggage to think everyone would accept a democratic solution. "Democracy" is nothing more than a smoke screen. America doesn't give a damn about democracy in the middle east and elsewhere ... and we naver have. We have and will overthrow a democracy and install a dictator in a heartbeat if it fits our purposes and couldn't care less what that dictator does to his own people .. Iraq, Iran, Chile, etc. Actually America in the broader sense does give a damn, the corporatists and elitists that control the US government don't give a damn about ANY country not even the one they control. Nor do they care what happens to the US citizens, let alone what their installed dictators do. Countries come and go, to them, its as simple as that. The only thing they are concerned about is absolute and total control. They cannot afford to lose this and they only have less than 2 years to succeed.
  5. Explosions in Iran Bush the Fool! Illegal Attack on Consulate and Detainment of Peoples
  6. Where are the examples of such denunuciations? And why did he refuse to also denounce Hamas? jbg, he said he was an example of the denouncement of the extremist fringe of the faith. For me, people who exemplify the actions on what needs addressing, do greater works than those who spout againgst things and yet take no action to change what they were spouting about. Words are easier than actions and living the example is way more difficult than making hollow statements.
  7. Now that is one huge stretch, the CBC runs a story on a women in PQ suing oil companies, and you connect it to CBC slamming the oil sands! BTW, what of the other media outlets that carried the story are they slamming the oil sands too?
  8. Why do you think that a real church made this? And why don't you recognize that this is just a parody for comic purposes, not an attack on the NFB itself? -k I googled it and researched to see if the credited church did do it, and found yes they did. Because comedy has long been used for propaganda purposes, just because it comes in a comedic format does not mean it is not insulting and denigrating the NFB. One can use comedy to promote racism, misogyny, hatred and war fare actually. Why do you see it as just being funny?
  9. Just google it and you will get close to 2 million hits, I am sure you could find something there to support whatever it is you are trying to get at. Suffice it to say though, neither Canada or the USA would be in existence today, in the form they are in, if not for the Freemasons
  10. Catchme claims that tanks are being used to smash through Afghan buildings and such, but, of course, doesn't support that assertion with anything, and you say that the tanks won't be effective. Here, too, I think pictures help to clear things up: Please provide a quote of my words that said tanks are being used to smash through buildings as I didn't. There is a link I posted earlier that discribed why they are destoying farmers fields by driving the tanks on them and NOT using roads, too bad you did not read the links provided! However, I will now post a link about our tanks blowing up farm buildings! Canadian Tanks Blow up Afghan farm Buildings Now and let's look at the Dutch successes that contradict what some people have said and indeed have said they are NOT holding up their end of the bargain, when I asked why are we doing it different than our NATO Allies and incurring casualities when they aren't. Dutch Treating Afghans Better and NOT Incurring casualities
  11. It was created by a church, and no, I do not think it was funny, it was insulting to the very fine work that the NFB does.
  12. Cultural geography, I find has a far more of comprehensive view of utilities, resources and what drives markets than do economists. http://geography.about.com/cs/culturalgeography/ http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/updik...8/cultural.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_geography There is only one Economist that I have ever respected and thought that person just might know what they are speaking of as well as care about humanity as other than a commodity or human capital, and that is Sir Nicholas Stern. Stern The Economist As long as economists look at peoples, as being commodity or human capital, they will have it all wrong!
  13. Pfft, he answered the questions what was the the interviewer actually seeking, what a pile of doodo! He said it all right there that needed to be said:
  14. Nope, I will not make an attempt to triangulate, we get enough lies, cover ups, bias and pap promoting the Iraq war and too little opposing information and truth as it is. Why don't you ask others putting up war propaganda to triangulate what they are saying? And are you really trying to say Veterans groups are wrong that are reporting to this site about what is going on and that they are lying? And I sure DO see where you are coming from!
  15. Considering Dr Kings words really were decades ahead of his tiime and apply most directly to today's world, and the state of things we would all do well to rember his words and try to save our childrens and granchildrens world for them. A world that we have allowed to be destroyed either actively through support of the Military Industrial Complex or passively through apathy. Full text of speech at http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/45a/058.html
  16. So it was put out by some church group to mock the NFB, personally I question what purpose a church group would have in doing such a thing! BTW Ya all should see the NFB's "Being Cariboo", to see what kind of good work the NFB actually does!
  17. In Canada, that statement is utter nonsense and it denotes one of the main differences between Canada and the United States. Agreed. English isn't always the best language to do business in either in all cases. I regularly talk to our parent company (based in Montreal) as my French is better than most of their English, which is saying alot. There are alot of successful business people and companies in Canada that operate in French. I agree with both of you.
  18. Well, this is an interesting article that I came across, which IMO is THE reason, why our military needs to get out of Afghanistan and stop propping up Karzi. If our military are supporting a government that is doing the exact opposite, of what some have said we were there for, actually now it has became the "main" reason. To make things better for women and children. This article indeeds proves otherwise. Karzi = Taliban BTW August or whatever your moniker is, the reason the USA rushed out of Afghanistan to Iraq was a lie. They should've finished hat they had proposed they didn't, they lied, we have NO reason to be there and NO reason to support the USA in any endeavors ever. Particularily, our troops are NOW supporting a government doing exactly the same thing as the Taliban did. It is NO wonder Afghans are furious and want us out! Lying Liars!
  19. Here is another good article on this and it is truly sad in all its implications. http://www.antiwar.com/glantz/?articleid=10262 Canadian military personal are suffering you can bet on it. I am reminded of that young fellow from New Brunswick, just back from Afganistan early in 2006, who had the addiction problems, broke the law over something and died. His family said he had been using drugs to self medicate for his PTSD this was over Christmas, I will try to find some articles.
  20. That is the other networks fault that their programming was/is lame, not the CBC's. Why should the 2.1 million people who watched it be deprived of an opportunity to view what they want and be forced to view the pap put out by Global and CTV? We the watchers and listeners of CBC pay for CBC too ya know, it is not just YOU! In fact, I will suggest, that you think about your tax dollars going to the military, where I do not want my tax dollars going, and that my tax dollars are funding the CBC where you do not want your tax money going. And sure they should produce things that are commercially vialble, to say that they shouldn't makes absolutely NO SENSE. Supporting Canadian actors and the Canadian TV and film industry is a good thing. If they can sell it into syndication even better.
  21. It's not kyoto that is sinking. It is Europes economy. There is plenty of life style change. People will be losing losing their jobs and along with their homes and the gemeral ability to live. Maybe pretty soon we will be able to get the people behind kyoto and those that went along with it up on genocide charges. Huh? Why is it that people think unrestricted profits and destroying the environment on the part of corporations is just fine fine fine?
  22. Your missing the piont it shows us that crietien did not take the advise of DND, and sent us anyways we were not ready for Afgan, ..He knew the current state of affairs in Afgan, and he knew the condition of his military, are you saying he knew something we in the military did not know, or like i was suggesting he did'nt care what it cost he wanted those polictical pionts...so he did not look bad for not getting involved in Iraq...Now that is showing leadership. Again i'm sorry and salute the liberal party... Who declared it short term, if we are honouring NATO commitments then we are commited to the mission until our NATO partners declare it over. or are we now saying our commitment is good as long as it is short term....Much like you saying i only signed up for peace keeping... The US still has more than triple the amount of troops than any other country involved has to say something plus the fact that they are pumping more troops in every month. sounds like the left us holding the bag. Actually it has been awhile since I was in the military, well prior to 911, but that is not the point. Canada's military since the Korean War, excpet for the Yugoslavian disaster, has been focused on Peace Keeping tactics and ideology. So, I was right about everything regarding who bought what, and who did what in what time frame and about us being not invited there. Just what is it that is known by you then and is not propaganada that you are being fed? But we are all am wrong thinking the Liberals did support those in Afghanistan and that the CPC care oh so much more! And how are those field rations? I am talking about reconstruction monies that the USA bailed on that was fairly consistently presented by me. Fact of the matter is, those in Afghanistan are not even yet using anything the Harper government has said they were purchasing for the military. It was brought to Canadians as a short term action, hence Harper having to extend it?
  23. If man has changed it for the worse, how is it presumptuous to think we could change it for the better? Those who advocate doing nothing, are absolutely beyond comprehension, Andto use the fact that the USA, China and India are noty buying into it, so why should anyone else even more pathetic an excuse. And India is NOT one of the world's largerst contributors, that is an absolute fallacy. India with 1.1 billion people, have 1/10th the GHG emissions that Canada does at 33 million people and Canada with our low population of 33 million people produces 2% of the world's GHG. And are you some sort of professional that you know if we acheive the goals that the impact would be zero? Please provide proof of that erroneous comment or presumption!
  24. ROTFL, the entire premise behind emissions trading scheme is to use the market to reduce GHGs. However, the market is entirely based on greed so you should not be surprised that profiteering happens. Companies are in the business of making a profit - not saving the planet. I suspect the same stat is true here and nothing will ever change. It makes no difference if Canada participates or not as long as the US, India and China refuse. I guess companies are very short sighted then in their greed. As their profits won't do them much good if there is no planet, or people. Well at least if the other countries in the world reduced their own GHG, the irresponsible mass murdering actions of the USA China and India, would not impact so heavily on the world. If people around the world refused to purchase or particpate in trade products and services with these nations they would soon have to change their tune. But the reality on the ground is greedy social psychopaths are going to greed the earth and humans into oblivian.
  25. The news coming out of Iraq about this is mind boggling. Furtehrmore, if US troops are doing this type of thing, could our own Canadian Military be too? Many are certainly suffering PTSD. Terrified Soldiers Terrifying People Unstable US Troops be re-deployed U.S. soldier accused of murder had been diagnosed as homicidal Murdering Rage of US Private
