  2. FLQ were setting off bombs in street side postal boxes. That can be deemed terrorism. It led to Trudeau instituting the War Measures Act. Meant you could be (and were) rounded up and put in jail w/o any due cause. Pretty much all of that FLQ bombing has been debunked after the investigations happened, remember, the RCMP infiltrators were found to be planning and doing all of those acts, which lead to the formation of CSIS? And yes, Trudeau's war measure act application did mean that. and is a good reason why we must stand against anything that erodes our individual liberties. The Air India attack was not a terrorist attack against Canada.
  3. Colter actually abstained because he did NOT agree with Harper's wanting to extend it the way it was either.
  4. Why was the creation of Israel necessary? Historical claims to land and coming back are indeed ill founded. However, that is not inclusive to FN land claims, as they never left, and then claimed their land.
  5. No, actually she did not quit because of anti-semitic bigotry within the Liberals, she quit because the Liberal Party's stance on Israel's bombing of Lebanon. If she, or her husband Irwin Cotler Liberal MP, felt there was anti-semetic bigotry going on in the Liberal Party, Cotler would've quit or walked across the foor.
  6. What terrorist incidents have we had in Canada besides none? Moreover, your own opinion commentary rebutts your own opinion commentary, as first you said: Which actually makes no sense either, as we Canadians were not experiencing terrorism, let alone any like other "western" nations were.
  7. Ah divert from the point and attack the poster. Such an immature response, really.... I would suggest that you take to Canadian History. Long before us white guys arrived here the injuns had vast trade networks from South America to the Arctic No, they actually didn't. They were small bands of savages who made war on and ate each other. The only sophisticated groups were in the far south - and mostly practiced human sacrifice rituals. That is absolute fabrication, and actually borders on racism, it is so far from the truth. Entirely true. Had you any knowledge of history, you'd realize that. Entirely false, and had you any knowledge of individual FN history, and Canadian history, you would most certainly realize that. There is nothing in history that shows they were anymore svage than any other cultural group Condemning them for making war upon one another, is certainly ludicrous considering the war mentality/ climate of certain white peoples exhibited today and through out history. And please do slap up some quoted facts detailing what FN's ate each other. As I notice you make contentions and never back them up.
  8. Wrong again argus, Cotler's wife even belongs to the CPC.
  9. Well, maybe that might have actual truth if Liberal Justic minister Colter was not so right of centre. And he was the one overseeing judicial appointments, and also implemented the changes that harper destroyed that would have made the judiciary actually for sure non-partisan. The fact that the Liberals made it so the judiciary could not be partisan, and Harper promptly got rid of it says much about Harper's wanting to stack the judiciary with partisans who have absolutely NO skill with which to determine judicial appointments..
  10. No, geoffery they did not, the SCC made a whole list of add ons to the use of these clauses, if they were to be used. The reason why the SCC struck down security cerificates was because they failed to use "due process" and to assure Charter freedoms. The very same Charter freedoms that the 2 sunset clauses breached. Now, please put up a link supporting your contentions.
  11. Well, to be fair, we were discussinf a particularily vicious example of racism sentiment in this thread. It does not have to be balanced with 'other people" "all people" are racist's too, commentary in order to be discussed or pointed out for what it is.. Your province? Let it go? Most likely, most Albertans are not on the same page as you, and how is that seperatist movement going? I see you got NO seats in the last provincial election.
  12. The Liberals did not try to get him booted out the country, they booted him out. You are correct, there is NO evidence connecting Zundel to the Liberals, or indeed to anyone on the left, there is however, a significant amount of evidence connecting Zundel to the CPC and those who support them from their days as Reform and Alliance. For example Lifesite.news comes solidly down on the side of Zundel and shows clear support of Nazi sympathcizer Paul Fromm, indeed it actually links the Christian heritage Party, the Reform Party, Zundel, and CPC campaign manager John Reynolds http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/1999/may/990507a.html This not a question of who cares and who doesn't care. This is a serious matter of freedom of liberty and due process. It was a vote in the HoC, not a sentencing trial in criminal court. When making the laws of the land, no emotional pleas should ever be presented for for back up to make any laws. Harper shamelessly, and erroneously, used those families for pure political purposes, to try and bias public opinion based upon emotional pleas. It was pure propaganada and nothing more.
  13. Are you blaming white racism against other non-whites/minorities because other white people point out that other white people are being racist? And then accusing them of inflaming other white people's racism?
  14. You are being disengenuous geffeory, there is a difference between the anti-terroism act, and the 2 sunset clauses that were extinguished today. It serve no purpose that you and others would try and misdirect people so. The 2 sunset clauses did NOT meet the Charter litmus, as was stated by the SCC, the same as the security cetificates did not and for the same reasons. The rest of the anti-terrorism act passed by the margin of 1.
  15. What is it with this board and it's overt anti-native sentiment? I do not think it is the whole board just segments of it. However, such erroneous anti-First Nations rhetoric is obvious for what it is.
  16. The not so environmentally conscious CPC have showed their true feelings about the environment today. Independent environment chief endorsed BILL CURRY Globe and Mail Update And of course our former environmental commissioner was fired last month for some unknown reason by our Auditor General, which is weird in itself. I guess harper did not want to take the fall for gettind of the person who was appointed to make sure our environment was safe. CPC again block positive moves to look after our environment
  17. 20 or so, MP's both Bloq and Liberal were not present, 1 voted against and 1 abstained from the Liberals. There will be no reprisals for those who did not vote, or who were abscent. The Bill extinguishing them passed by a large margin. But of course the CPC were whipped, they just watched Harper boot 2 *Conservative Senators off of committees who spoke out. * different from the CPC
  18. One would think the tires could've been shot out eh?
  19. Just because you do not like the information truth and facts provided does not mean it is either left or opinion. Perhaps you should try actually debating the content instead of attempting to attack the poster.

  21. US generals ‘will quit’ if Bush orders Iran attack http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/worl...icle1434540.ece So, it seems there are those who are sane and have conscience in the the US military.
  22. Seems as though Russia and China's stand against the USA attacking Iran is prompting them to curtail their actions in that regard. http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/stor...6445020,00.html
  23. This is not about winning white doors it is about truth. The Senlis report is was direct report to the Canadian Government and Military and it contains not one wiff of innuendo and opinion. So of course, it is very apparent, you did not read the very factual Senlis Report, by people who are direct and on the ground in Afghanistan and it is current to Febuary 14, and its polls are not even close to yours, which had you read the report you would have realized how in error you are
  24. yes it does trying repeating and again you are putting out Zionist talking points that are not the voice of all Jews. Here are some true facts about Israel Palestine. And there are 12 pages of information from historians and historical documents from the University of Haifa, Israel that refute what rue was saying. http://www.ameu.org/page.asp?iid=35&aid=427&pg=4 Jewish Opposition to Israeli Human Rights Crimes is Growing Criticizing Israel is Not an Act of Bigotry By JASON KUNIN A grassroots revolt is underway in Jewish communities throughout the world, a revolt that has panicked the elite organizations that have long functioned as official mouthpieces for the community...This is the latest attempt to conflate anti-Semitism with anti-Zionism in order to silence or marginalize criticism of Israel...It is misleading for groups like the Canadian Jewish Congress to pretend that the Jewish community is united in support of Israel. In a world where uncritical support for Israel is becoming less and less tenable due to the expanding human rights disaster in the West Bank and Gaza, leaders of Jewish communities outside Israel have circled their wagons, heightened their pro-Israel rhetoric, and demonized Israel's critics. These leaders imply that increased concerns about Israel do not result from that state's actions, but from an increase in anti-Semitism. Despite this effort to absolve Israel of responsibility for its treatment of Palestinians, Jewish opposition is growing and becoming more organized.... This development follows the emergence of similar groups in Sweden, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium , the United States, South Africa, and others, including the umbrella organization European Jews for a Just Peace and the numerous groups within Israel itself. In Canada, the Alliance of Concerned Jewish Canadians Criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitic, nor does it "bleed into anti-Semitism," It is wrong to criticize all Jews for Israel's wrongdoings, yet Israel's leadership and its supporters in the Diaspora consistently encourage this view by insisting that Israel acts on behalf of the entire Jewish people...This shifts blame for Israel's crimes onto the shoulders of all Jews. But Jewish critics of Israel demonstrate through their words and deeds that the Jewish community is not monolithic in its support of Israel. Defenders of Israel often argue that Israel is forced to do what it does... Palestinian violence, however, is rooted in the theft of their land, the diversion of their water, the violence of the occupation, and the indignity of having one's own very existence posed as a "demographic threat." Consequently, pro-Israel advocacy depends upon on the active dissemination of Islamophobia. Not surprisingly, engendering hatred in this manner inflames anti-Jewish sentiment among Arabs and Muslims. None of this is a recipe for making Jews safe. Jewish people can help avert the catastrophic effects of Israeli behaviour, but only by taking a stand in opposition to it. Jason Kunin of Toronto is a member of the administration council of the Alliance of Concerned Jewish Canadians. http://www.counterpunch.org/kunin02242007.html
