Balsillie wants to move NHL's Coyotes to Ontario
daniel replied to jdobbin's topic in Travel, Leisure and Sports
He might as well move the Coyotes to Tombstone and try to capture the Mexican market. If the Coyotes go to auction, I hear that there might be another bidder to try to keep them in Phoenix. -
Who does Canada Trust Most? - Reader's Digest
daniel replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Keep your friends close, your enemies closer. Yes, we trust Stephen Harper, that's why even when everything went right for him in the election including a weak opposition, he still managed only a minority. We trust him enough to keep his covetted majority outside his grasp. -
How can you be so sure Harper won't want to call another election?

GALLUP: Most Americans now 'pro-life'
daniel replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Well, at some point in the past, most American also believed it was a good idea to invade Iraq. -
They repeat those lies over and over again. Lies during the coalition 1) undemocratic - all were democratically elected members of parliament; 2) Bloc is part of the coalition - they just agreed to support it for 18 months, Duceppe didn't want any of his members or himself in cabinet 3) the misrepresentation of the Parliamentary System - government is actually formed and supported by Parliamentary Members Prior to that, the Green Shift That it was a tax grab - it was actually a shift in taxation to provide incentives to green projects and habits at the expense of environmentally detrimental habits. The Cons did not address any of the tax incentives.

So retainers aren't taxable? I'll remember that when my client retains me every two weeks.

This Conservative government puts more effort in attacking opponents and critics than governing. Take a look at there economic statement in November before the Coalition situation forced him to actually address the economy. During the six weeks between the election and the economic statement they did nothing - and then he runs to the GG to perogue stating they needed more time.

To all my American Brethren

That's your criteria for "proof"??!! It's no wonder you're still blaming others for the mess you created called Iraq. -

It was as reported by the Toronto Star today. If that was wrong, they would post a correction tomorrow. Don't count on it as Harper is now known to continuously push beyond the boundaries of contempt. At the time of prorogation, in another discussion forum, people were assuming that the GG would have limited his power in things like Senate appointments. Prior to prorogation he's been known to disregard Parliament two other times. There's even a G&M article several months or weeks ago speculating the threats Harper may have made to the GG if she wouldn't had granted the prorogation.

In case anybody is confused, citizen voters elect Members of Parliament. It is the Members of Parliament who selects the government. By convention, it is usually the party with the most members as long as it is supported by the Parliament. If the government is not supported by Parliament, the Governor General has a CHOICE to dissolve Parliament and have an election or appoint the Official Leader of the Opposition to form the Government.

Quebec is a big problem for the Tories. That's a 2% drop for the Liberals since May2 - trouble.
-
No, it was broken. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/628967 And then Harper's lies keep piling up while the public laps it up.
-
Then there's the possibility of another prorogation.

'Mr. Harper, you have failed us': Ignatieff
daniel replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Recent polls (and even in the Mapleleaf website) shows Harper's in trouble regardless of what Leafless says here. -
I believe there are opportunities in the Republican Party.

Tories court Bloc and NDP in bid to hold onto power
daniel replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Like outright lies about the democratic and parliamentary process and what was actually included in the coalition agreement? -

We've already seen someone trying to blame the left for Harper's big spending. He'll try it again. -

Tories court Bloc and NDP in bid to hold onto power

The perennial power hungry Conservative Party of Canada better not even try to force another unnecessary election on the Canadian people or they better be prepared to be soundly defeated. We don't want or need an election. -
Conservatives to Harper: "You had an option, sir. You could have said, 'I am not going to do it. This is wrong for Canada, and I am not going to ask Canadians to pay the price.' You had an option, sir--to say 'no'--and you chose to say 'yes' to the old attitudes and the old stories of the Liberal Party. That sir, if I may say respectfully, that is not good enough for Canadians."
-
...I wouldn't have thought you'd do it for anybody on the left.

There goes the theory that conservatives are good money managers.

Wow, 51% Liberal, 37% Cons. Harper's in trouble if he is losing a poll in this discussion forum. I wonder what the results at Freedomonion would be.
