  1. From what I'm reading here, it wouldn't take long for somebody to suggest that Harper call Martial Law and have all political dissidents arrested. I wonder if Harper's advisers include Pervez and Mugabee.
  2. The only crisis is the Harper Government stalling progress when there's an economic crisis and recession going on. The coalition side already has a plan that includes at least 18 months of stability. The Harper government doesn't have one and is more concerned with hanging onto power. And with Harper, you'll never know when he'll pull the plug again and call another election.
  3. Interesting how "fiscally" responsible conservatives are calling to spend another $300million only after the first $300million was spent when nobody really knew the reason why - oh yeah, Parliament was dysfunctional. Well, the Conservatives called it. The Parliamentary rules are still the same. Three of the parties are in agreement to make Parliament work for at least 18 months. What more could Harper want?
  4. Actually, he did say something like that right after the election. So now you know how good his word is.
  5. While you're at it, you might as well revisit that fundamental breach of contract which ultimately begat the current Conservative party. You should also hold the Conservative government to those three bills passed in the elected Parliament which Harper just simply ignored.
  6. If he does (prorogue Parliament), it would be his fourth act against the will of the people and of the elected Parliament.
  7. Yes, we note that the right-wingers on this forum would make up facts.
  8. And we even re-elected them back into government.
  9. I'll try to respond to your original posting before it was so quickly hijacked (with a falsity). He'll probably leave office with grey hair. The change is due to the difference between being a critic and being in government actually trying to hold a balance between the minority who voted for him and the majority who is preventing him from enacting on his fundamentalist agenda.
  10. You've not been in this forum long enough to gauge the predominant sentiments this forum - or maybe you have and decided you're at home with the radical fringe.
  11. Strawman in action (the Youtube title that is - but guess who lapped it up?).
  12. We had noted many times before that the opinions of this discussion forum isn't reflected by the general population. Many of your realities aren't supported by historical facts.
  13. Yes, we notice how the right-wingers frantically make excuses (and make up facts) to defend what they would attack others of doing.
  14. Thanks to government-controlled media such as Fox News and Media-Watch, the Patriot Act etc for most of eight years the Republicans had total control and a free hand at almost everything. What was illegal during Nixon's watergate was now legal although still unconstitutional. Any dissenting voice was shut down. TV personalities had their programs cancelled for voicing out. Citizens were wiretapped as well as arrested without charge and held indefinately. Anybody who dared to disagree with government views and "facts", even government employees themselves were at risk with intimidation. And by the looks of it, that's still continuing on this web site. The Bush gimmick of allowing "Free Speech Zones" (ironic, huh?) was effectively adopted by China during the Olympic games. Yes, the Democrat pundits and strategists were initially shaken by the Palin factor, but Obama showed everybody including is own organizers that he was above all of that. He was above all the dirt, lies, misrepresentations and investigations thrown at him and refused to react to any of it. They only needed to have McCain or Palin show up for interviews - that's what did them in. Regardless of your current opinions, 80% of the world is now relieved the eight-year nightmare is over.
  15. We already know the predominant views of the people in this discussion forum far from represent the general population of Canada. Now we can be assured they don't represent the views of the rest of the world either.
  16. Yes, and more people understand that than the classic "There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know." or "fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." Both from EFL speakers. Don't know if it's funny, embarrassing or disturbing that some people still think GWBush was a great President.
  17. Hunt down, capture and turn in Henry Kissenger to the International War Crimes Tribunal.
  18. Plus he turned one of the hardest hit economies into one of the strongest growing economies before he left.
  19. Unless it rains.
  20. Well, isn't that typical, a Conservative bringing us back to a deficit. So, what else is new?
  21. The GG always has the choice to instruct the opposition to form a coalition government for at least a year, thus forcing Harper to uphold his own legislation. After 2years of Conservatives, 1 year of united alternative, the voters can make an informed decision based on real performance.
  22. Now the contest is between a President Obama and a Vice President Palin. Who needs or wants McCain around any more? He's only going to be the same old same old with Palin sitting around waiting to change things.
  23. It may have taken 7 1/2 years but George W finally learns how to be President - and his party doesn't want to hear from him. It may have taken 24 years but the Republicans have finally learned from the Democrats' lead - to finally include a woman on the ticket too. I guess selecting Condi would have been too much to swallow. Let's hope Palin doesn't turn into another Quayle.
  24. Ha, Ha, control freak Harper wrote the book and instructed his ministers on how to disrupt parliament and committee meetings. Now he's complaining the results of his own invention is dysfunctional. Dion (chicken or shrewd strategist) just let Harper do his own thing so Harper only has himself to blame.
  25. Those postings by August puts him in the same category as those who still think Iraq was involved in 911.
