  1. He didn't make it up out of the blue. He must have known he was getting into trouble and therefore presented some diversionary tactic to blame the Liberals. http://www.thestar.com/article/413170 And sure enough by August, http://www.economicnews.ca/cepnews/wire/article/145925
  2. ...and Mexico reclaim Texas.
  3. If the rescue attempt had been a failure, no doubt the right-wing critics of Obama would have held him responsible in some way - like America is already weakening, etc. But then Rush Limbaugh would have to explain what he means by hoping that Obama would fail if it means a death to an American. Of course, now that the rescue attempt was successful, there will be no credit given to Obama. (Somebody will be sure to respond by stating "why would they, Obama had nothing to do with the rescue?")
  4. Billy Bob called Jian Ghomeshi an "a--hole" and Canadian audiences just sit there. Maybe Canadians don't like his "music". When Barbara Walters was on "Q", she interrupted Jian Ghomeshi at one point to say that he was an excellent interviewer. So who has more clout Barbara Walters or Billy Bob?
  5. They answered the questions for him and he was too lazy to bring his drums.
  6. So he's not crazy about Canadians. I've doled out plenty for Fleetwood Mac, the Who, and Paul McCartney. But Billy Bob who? I think his "fans" were waiting for Willie Nelson. Jian Ghomeshi - bring on Tom Petty.
  7. Say it again, say it again!!!
  8. Sounds like right-wing scare-mongering.
  9. One of the biggest criticism of McGuinty was that he was acting too much like Stephen Harper: http://www.thestar.com/News/Ontario/article/610319 This large deficit is just another example.
  10. Harper's on his way to the G20. Wait for him to make another round of commitments he has no intention of keeping.
  11. Remember when GWB got lost reading the teleprompter? I still get a chuckle.
  12. Actually the original term wasn't "survival of the fittest". Somebody twisted the original term. It was something like survival of the most adaptive. Example: Neanderthals were very fit and much stronger than the Cro-Magnons. But Cro-Magnons adapted to the changing climate, the migrating herds, indicated they had culture, etc and the Neanderthals ran out of food because they couldn't compete simply because they didn't change the habits they had for thousands of years.
  13. Polling a bunch of conservative supporters if they are in favour of a system that weakens their position? The results are hardly surprising.
  14. That's right. Each voter can have PR (ie RoC) select an MP for him or he can select one himself.
  15. My suggestion would be if "None of the Above" wins the riding, then the "None of the Above" ridings across the country is allocated in such a way to as to provide proportional representation by overall popular vote.
  16. You're right. The recession really is over. They closed up.
  17. TSX and Dow down today. Recession is back on.
  18. If Canada invokes the AutoPact, then when Chrysler pulls assembly out of Canada, they can't sell in Canada.
  19. Both the Dow and the TSX up two days in a row. The recession is over.
  20. It's been proven in this web site on at least three occasions. The latest is this poll.
  21. Doesn't really matter what the right-wingers in this forum think. I'm just glad the rest of the population doesn't share their opinions.
  22. Referencing these sentences a time-line and progress comparision against Dalton's predecessor, he has really nothing to worry about. Seven years after the change in government, the PCs switched leaders. If Dalton decides to stay on, I don't think he'll have alot of problems.
  23. At around this same time-frame with the Harris Government, things would be falling apart and Harris would be jumping ship and resigning. People would have already died in the Walkerton Water tragedy. SARs would be about to take over Toronto. And electricity costs would be soaring due to unregulated privatization of electricity before Eves steps with caps. (This would happen after Energy Minister Chris Stockwell explains by the California example of rotating brown-outs couldn't happen in Ontario.) Within this seven-year period, Dalton would have already suffered a few "Not up to the job" campaigns and the economy was still doing well. Unless someone is going to blame them for the current global recession, there's nothing really comparable or equivalent to pin on the Liberals except for the usual policy disagreements.
