  1. I was fine with it at 250,000 per year which to me is enough, as long as we gear the people we accept our economy and skill set needs.
  2. According to this, it is increasing and what's to say there won't be another wave from Venezuela. There re allready some in Manitoba. Mind you, they are fleeing real problems. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/venezuela-family-altona-refugee-status-manitoba-1.4258148 https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-illegal-border-crossings-from-us-increase-by-nearly-23-per-cent-from/
  3. And rightly so... 'specially the robot porn thing, can't wait
  4. Can't boycott dairy as it is necessary for good health, especially in children. It's hard to understand how a small cartel can hold so much power with such a price fixing ponzi scheme with price fixing and quotas.
  5. I agree about living without a dairy cartel as supply management is why I can buy dairy products in the USA for a lot less than what it costs in Canada. It does not just impact Quebec farmers, it is ultimately visited upon the consumer. That's quite a charge there, which I won't repeat. You do know that Scheer has promised not to open the issue of abortion and a resolution to that effect was just passed. The rest is just poppycock.
  6. I'll bet they are thinking about it. The Conservatives passed a resolution at the convention: Resolution that Conservative Policy as government will be to renegotiate the Safe Third Country Agreement with the U.S. to close the gaps relating to illegal entries in Canada PASSES. CPC18
  7. It's not a good idea to split the vote under our current system as it would allow the Liberals to come up the middle to win again. As much as I agree with a lot of what Bernier says, he's just thrown the next election. Monte Solberg believes Bernier will fail, so do I. If we had proportional rep. then IMO his party would gain seats, the reason that Prop. Rep, is not the system of choice for Trudeau who would prefer the Ranked Ballot. https://www.macleans.ca/opinion/i-was-a-reform-mp-and-i-supported-maxime-bernier-for-leader-heres-why-hell-fail/ Bernier’s idealism, as he will surely soon discover, must be tempered by judgment in politics. And critically, these recent events indicate that he doesn’t seem to know when to wait, defer, deflect or compromise—all essential skills in politics. You can’t die on every hill. You need the wisdom to know when it is best to back away, no matter how tempting it would be to engage, because engaging might send the wrong message about priorities—and, lately, about whether you even understand the Canadian cast of mind.
  8.  The U.S.  DOJ indicted 19 foreign nationals for illegally voting in the 2016 election.

Strange that we didn't hear the media or Democrats get upset about this as I really thought they were horrified about the idea of foreign interference in elections?

  9. I seem to remember Immigration Minister Hussen saying that calling Canada's border-crossing issue a crisis was racist?- well – I guess he's a racist saying our system is unsustainable. MP Michelle Rempel has been putting out the facts but the Liberals only chose to spin and smear, a tactic which is ethically unsound and shows how they don’t want us to know the truth. Could this be a prelude to an amnesty cos Trudeau’s strategy of calling people racist isn’t going to work anymore.
  10. It's never been about 'racism', that's the narrative the Liberals put forward to deflect from their own incompetence and ineptitude.
  11. Mollie Tibbetts would be alive today if America enforced federal immigration law.

Indeed...Willie Horton will meet Christian Rivera in campaign ads.

  12. Doctors are calling for a lot more health care funding but this article blames it all on seniors failing to mention the huge costs involved with sponsoring elderly parents whose numbers are set to increase substantially. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/senior-health-care-federal-1.4749684
  13. It might be somewhat better than what they have to look forward to in South Africa now. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5534449/South-Africas-white-farmers-likely-killed-police.html White farmers in South Africa have the most dangerous job in the country, are twice as likely to be murdered than police and are killed at four times the rate of the wider community, a rights group claims. This week, as the government moves to seize all white-owned land without compensation, civil rights organisation AfriForum claimed there had been 109 attacks which left 15 white farm workers dead so far this year. This follows 82 killings and 423 attacks in 2016, though none of the figures can be verified because the South African government has refused to release farm murder statistics since 2007. Some of the killings are reported to have been barbaric, with farm owners tortured, raped, burned alive and slaughtered in front of their families.
  14. Which is going increase substantially under the Trudeau regime. Don't ask him how he's going to pay for it though, as that would be 'racist'
  15. Why, it was oK... Bernier made a mistaking in calling his former colleages/supporters morally corrupt. He should've taken the high road, not the low road making a more dignified departure.
  16. True, he is very hard to listen to and understand in English anyway.
  17. I would hope they would respect the process too even though the Democrats have not respected their election process.
  18. Canada will now accept 17,000 applications under Parents and Grandparents Program in 2018 so placing a higher burden on Canadians tax payers and our already overburdened health system.    https://www.cicnews.com/2018/08/canada-will-now-accept-17000-applications-under-parents-and-grandparents-program-in-2018-0810997.html#gs.a3uVFgo

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/senior-health-care-federal-1.4749684   the CBC talks about increasing costs for seniors but fails to mention the costs associated with the family reunification program which set to increase substantially.

It's 17,000 this year, rising to 20,000 next year. The tories had set it at 5,000

It's only money, Canadians have way too much anyway. Might as well just give it away, it's so nice of Justin to make himself helpfull that way. And he makes it look so easy.

  19. What we can take from history: When Conservatives divided: 1993: Liberal majority 1997: Liberal majority 2000: Liberal Majority When Conservatives united: 2004: Liberal minority 2006: Conservative minority 2008: Conservative minority 2011: Conservative majority Divided there is no chance of forming a gov't.
  20. Here’s what Harper said on Twitter:
  21. I'm hoping that this will result in some good debate at the convention and that Scheer will be more open to opposing Trudeau. I agree he has to be very careful because any opposition to immigration no matter how moderate will just cause him to use the racist card more and more, generally backed by the liberal media.
  22. Now is a good time for Scheer to listen to the people and turn this around as they are at the convention now. This is all playing into Trudeau's politics of division and name calling.
  23. Trudeau was seen coming out of the House grinning from ear to ear, he knows this could destroy the party. I agree with Bernier for the most part but after being called morally corrupt etc. why would we support him. I hope Scheer gets something out of this, if nothing else that many people expect him to stand against Trudeau, not with him. I don't think the country could survive another Trudeau term.
  24. Even if it is accurate and I'm not sure it is as she denys it, she is still entitled to voice an opinion without being apprehended. She didn't threaten anyone or incite violence, but the narrative that she was racist has now taken root. And so it shall be everytime anyone questions Dear Leader.
  25. Will wait for the press conference but it does seem he's breaking ranks.
