Conservative fiscal plan fully costed, fully budgeted, fully balanced 08 January 2006 Spending and tax plan independently verified by the Conference Board of Canada OTTAWA – The Conservative Party of Canada today released a letter from the Conference Board of Canada ( attached) showing that the Conservative platform is fully affordable in each year from 2005 through 2011. “In summary,” wrote Paul Darby, Deputy Chief Economist of the CBoC, “we found that the Conservative Party’s economic platform is affordable in each fiscal year from 2005-2006 through 2010-2011. In each year there is enough fiscal room to pay down at least $3 billion a year in debt, as in the [government’s] fiscal plan.” The Conference Board also found that there is substantial surplus in the Conservative fiscal plan: “Over the five-year forecast horizon to 2010-2011, the CBoC economic and fiscal outlook suggests that there remains $15.7 billion in unallocated fiscal room, over and above the annual debt payment, which provides further cushion to ensure that deficits do not occur due to adverse economic effects.” The Conference Board was given access to the entire Conservative platform in order to conduct its analysis. The Conservative party will release its whole platform and supporting fiscal framework later this week. “The Conservative plan includes balanced budgets, annual debt repayment, and a package of tax reductions far more generous than that offered by any other party,” said Monte Solberg, the Conservative Party’s Finance Critic. http://www.conservative.ca/EN/1091/38243

Kind of like "River God" and "Mindless Idiot". [colo] There is a forum for U.S. issues and Iraq, so its off topic. Puuleeeze....whenever anyone trots out neo-con fascist etc. they lose credibility. The conservatives stand for more freedom and more freedom of speech, not less, you've got the wrong party. So quit with the histrionics and stick to debate.

Why we must prevent Harper from becoming PM
scribblet replied to emailforcanada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Let me see, when Martin gets angry and he gets apoplectic - its good. When Harper gets angry - its bad. Its sure not as low as the liberals have sunk with their ad using a shooting gun, 'Vote Liberal or the Kids Get it' ....... http://www.katewerk.com/temp/gun_girl.gif nor as low as they have sunk with their corruption. It is not as low as Scot Brison and his malicious and false statements (which he apologized for) , nor is it as low as Joe Volpe with his comments I won't repeat. http://www.ndp.ca/page/2804 www.flyourflag.ca -

movich, your ignorance of Canadian history is sublime. It was the money and blood of Easterners that built the West. The West was coddled and supported by the East until it could stand on its own feet. I guess we all had different history professors - But gee, here I thought it was the Chinese who really built Canada.

The last two weeks of the campaign
scribblet replied to fellowtraveller's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hmmm, I think its possible that will happen. Plus, the liberals have an political ad out complete with the firing gun - as in you know - Conservatives will kill your babies. The usual over the top rhetoric, but its a good hook for the uninformed. -
Neo cons were liberals upset with the idealogy and left the liberal party to be conservative. Since then the term has mutated and is used to intimidate and of course, these days its meant as a slur. In civilized and respectful debate we should use the actual terms of liberal, NDP and conservative. I'm guessing if I used the term Librano, or Liebrals, I'd be jumped on, but its okay to use the term neo-con as a form of intimidation.

Prety well describes the liberal party, known for suppressing their MP's and of course, whipped votes. Belinda walked because she realized she wouldn't be leader, and was bribed with a cabinet position. Less government and more freedoms are not a form of fascism, this is just more drive by smears. Instead of discussing current election issues they resort to calling names and bringing out the old Bilderberger and conspiracy theories. Paul Martin be nationalistic and can wrap himself in the flag, and get angry and thats just hunky dorey, but if Harper is seen as being nationalistic and gets angry, its not okay. Double standards and Tin foil hat time.

BE GRATEFUL YOU LIVE IN CANADA. IT'S A GREAT COUNTRY
scribblet replied to River_God's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well said, I consider the large letters and coloured scripts a form of screaming and yelling, obviously the liberals are running scared and spamming forums. -
Those kind of drive by accusations aren't worth responding to, simply malicious innuendo, not worth my time. As soon as someone starts with the fascists, Hitler crap, they lose all credibility, and it trivializes true fascism. As for the Bilderbergers, anyone who's anyone eventually is invited, Bill Clinton was an attendee and Bill Gates. But, people do thrive on conspiracy theories.

Why we must prevent Harper from becoming PM

This is exactly the whole point. Parents having choices...and not being dictated to by the government how to raise their children! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Some choice when one of the options isn't there. You can have any colour of Model-T as long as it's black. Huh ? Guess you don't know he's also talking about funding additional day care spaces. -
Conservatives true colours start to shine through...

The CBC fibbed, and didn't tell the whole story. -
Nonsense, the CPC wants less government and more freedoms, hardly fascist. That is a good joke! Totally wrong but a good joke none the less. The liberal ideals are closer to communism and the conservative ideals are closer to fascism. It is not a debate, it just simply is. It simply 'is' thats your opinion and is- simply - wrong. Fascism is typified by totalitarian attempts to impose state control over all aspects of life: political, social and cultural. That describes the liberals far more than the CPC. However, when anyone uses the word fascist or Nazi to describe any party, credibility is out the window as it trivializes what the real fascists and Nazis really are about.

How many current scandals are there?
scribblet replied to willy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Toronto SunAbove, The Liberals paid a Liberal lobiest to loby the Liberal government on the gun registry. Income Trust Option Canada What else? I know these are investigations or aligations but it still seems like a lot in the light of Gomery. Not to mention hundreds of thousands more the Conservatives will probably reveal once they (hopefully) get into power. I've lost track of them all... -

Ah, you can't dispute the fact of the article, so you attack the source. Well Done!! You may now graduate to Swiftboating 201. Anyway, Saturday, January 7, 2006 Posted at 11:38 AM EST Canadian Press Ottawa — Conservative Leader Stephen Harper says his government would reverse Liberal tax cuts for low-income earners passed just before the election was called. But Mr. Harper suggested he'll offer his own tax package for middle- and low-income Canadians on top of the two-per-cent cut in the GST promised last month. He offered few details during a campaign stop in New Hamburg, Ont. Tories to repeal low-income tax cuts He had few details to offer because he got caught with his pants down affter Kenny shot his mouth off. They're making something up right now. There's another thread on this, and the CBC has posted a partial apology to its disengenuous article. "Our priority is broader and deeper tax relief than what the Liberals are willing to offer," Kenney told CBC News Online. "We would suspend [the Liberals] future measures in order to deliver broad-based and responsible tax relief, which will ultimately save Canadians more in their taxes and will be affordable in terms of the delivery of federal services," the release said. "The immediate result of cutting the GST will be $4.5 billion back in the pockets of ordinary Canadians. When the GST cut is fully implemented, the total benefit will be much greater," the release said. Kenney said they voted against the Liberal tax cuts because they disagreed with their fiscal priorities, adding they would have "spent smarter and cut taxes deeper." The Tories have also said that their own tax package has not yet been fully announced -
Harper's hidden agenda sprung a leak
scribblet replied to hiti's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Violence against liberals? Is that the New Conservative plan? Bullying people who don't share the same point of view? Whirly? Illegal Martial arts moves? Imprisonment? Somebody better tell Harper the gag order on stupidity is slipping. CPC Candidate I removed a post which I made in a wrong thread, it was the same as my post #13 in this thread in which I referenced Monty S. 'Remember, it didn't happen if you didn't see it on the CBC.' I've no idea what 'violence against liberals' is about. -
Nonsense, the CPC wants less government and more freedoms, hardly fascist.

Is the left getting that scared??? They seem to be, and seem to be resorting to the 'scary and neo-con' stuff which is really another form of scare tactic as the word is actually used as a slur and simply meant to insinuate more 'scary scary' stuff. I'm not counting my chickens yet.

It seems that they are running on empty and Captain Canada can't save them with his rhetoric. However, I wouldn't celebrate yet. BTW has anyone heard any rumours of a Liberal NDP merger if the Liberals should lose?
