I take exception to these uncalled for comments. I respect W.V. and his well thought out posts, even on other forums. W.V. and his 'buddies' do not believe in stopping freedom of speech, in fact, they are fighting in the courts for just that. But if you have something to back up that statement I'd like to see it, until then, your drive by smears will carry no weight whatsoever.

Why does Talk Radio dislike McCain?
scribblet replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Agreed, I've heard a few comments on talk shows (I'm down south right now), they do not see him as a republican, he should be a democrat in their eyes. From what I've read I tend to agree, he certainly espouses the democratic platform. Apart from that, don't you think he's a bit long in the tooth for the job, especially if it turns into 8 years? -
Exactly, as long as they spend their money on bombs and rockets while ignoring the infrastructure and economy they will always be poor - and angry. Possibly this is what the leaders want, to keep them perpetually angry as a happier more contented population would not want war (we hope).

Two Bombings Wreak Carnage in Iraqi Capital
scribblet replied to jbg's topic in The Rest of the World
The BBC is reporting it too, I suppose there's no way it can be confirmed now. It's not unbelievable considering previous actions, including the use of children as human bombs, and not the first time they have used a handicapped child. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6889106/ BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq’s interior minister said Monday that insurgents used a handicapped child as one of the suicide bombers who launched attacks on election day. Falah al-Naqib told reporters in Baghdad that 38 attacks were carried out on polling stations in Iraq on Sunday and that one of the suicide bombings was carried out by a disabled child. “A handicapped child was used to carry out a suicide attack on a polling site,” al-Naqib said. “This is an indication of what horrific actions they are carrying out.” -
LOL - sure you know what it means, it's hardly a third party insult... Grits is just an old party name.

It is the Liberals who don't support free speech and like to muzzle opposing views. It is Stephanie Dion who wants his Liberal MP to withdraw his free speech bill, not conservatives. Canadian leftists say they hate facism and naziizm, but they seem to espouse it by wanting the same things the NSP of Germany, wanted suppression of free speech and rights.

Toronto School Board eyes "Afro-centric" school
scribblet replied to g_bambino's topic in Local Politics in Canada
errr, I think it allready is 'influenced by race' Here's something to masticate on: A step back in time By Klaus Rohrich Friday, February 1, 2008 http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/1655 In the summer of 1964, I moved to Meridian, Mississippi, which then was a sleepy old-south town just getting acquainted with the 20th century. In those days the town was completely segregated with separate schools for black and white kids and drinking fountains and public washrooms bearing the designations “colored only” and “white only”. It appears that the Toronto School Board misses those good old days and is prepared to take a step back in time to when whites and “coloreds” attended separate, but equal schools. I haven’t heard of a dumber idea since Kofi Anan and Maurice Strong dreamed up the Kyoto Protocol. Given that the dropout rate in Toronto’s high schools is fairly high, particularly among black students, the luminaries at the Toronto District School Board believe that having a school with an “Afro centric curriculum” will function as a panacea in curing the rampant underperformance and illiteracy now plaguing black kids attending Toronto’s schools. And if you believe that, I have the deed to a bridge that’s for sale cheap. The problem with the schools isn’t whether or not they are culturally sensitive. What does it matter whether black Nubians discovered the Pythagorean Theorem five thousand years ago if black kids today don’t know how to give change on the purchase of a Big Mac? We can be culturally sensitive up the wazoo and get no closer to solving the problem of black kids underachieving because the problem doesn’t originate at school. The root cause lies in what we have come to euphemistically call urban culture and the accoutrements of the gansta’ lifestyle. Being dumb is a quality that’s highly prized among many urban kids today as it represents a form of proof that they haven’t sold out, bought into the ‘Uncle Tom’ trap and are living by their own rules. We also shouldn’t confuse dumbness with a lack of intelligence, as many of these kids have a lifetime supply of shrewd street smarts, despite their inability to spell or read the words Aurora Borealis. -snip- If you come from a single parent family struggling to make ends meet without a stable father figure and spend most of your time associating with kids from similar backgrounds, some of whom have found status through dealing drugs, being violent or both, then attending a school that scams you with a lot of touchy-feely fluff will make no difference whatsoever to your scholastic abilities. Self-esteem doesn’t come from knowing that one’s ancestors achieved great things; it comes from achieving great things one’s self. The Toronto District School Board has taken a racial view that’s every bit as narrow, vapid and shallow as that of those white crackers in Mississippi back in 1964. And our kids are a whole lot poorer as a result. -
Something I wonder too, and why it seems to be open season on Christians who for the most part don't come close to the violence and atrocities committed by the radical Muslims. Acts seemingly ignored by the Chrisophobes. What is an xtian - it seems to me that it is a third party slur not allowed on here...

Exactly.... nothing like a little riot, a homicide bombing or a beheading to get the adrenalin flowing Did it take place - any reactions yet?

Toronto School Board eyes "Afro-centric" school
scribblet replied to g_bambino's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Nonsense, and of course you believe then, that we should have faith based schools - you know, otpions and alternatives. It's apartheid, keep them separate, segregated and unequal. The best way to help blacks succeed is to teach them to a universal standard, one which will enable them to compete in the real world, something orientals for instance seem to believe in as generally speaking they attain very high educational standards. Why we should ask - well - maybe because Asian-Canadian parents expect their children to achieve higher education than the parents of other racial groups. ... also possibly the lack of role models in their lives, lack of good parenting etc.. Maybe some of the kids become what they are brought up to be. -
Gee it's really quite simple really. All the Palestinians have to do is quit lobbing rockets into Israel. Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and Al Quaida grow stronger, all with the sole purpose of destroying Israel and killing all Jews. Israel has no choice but to react and defend from a coming violent Jihad. So far Israel has done little against the constant barrage of missiles from Gaza. Israel had to close their of Gaza of the semi-porous border through which Gazians made a conscious choice to smuggle weapons, rather than food and anything else useful for a civilian infrastructure.

Me too, it's the liberals who generally like to suppress speech etc. and hate opposing views, heck you know the definition of a racist don't you : It's someone winning an argument with a liberal.

Toronto School Board eyes "Afro-centric" school

it's segregation, and a subtle method of saying blacks are not capable of being successful in a regular school. I'm surprised they would go for it. -
Is Canada now a police state under the Harper Tories?

The first person to use Hitler or Nazi in an argument loses...it is nothing but inflammatory rhetoric. -
Dion has stepped in it again, LOL http://www.stephentaylor.ca/archives/000943.html Lawyers for Dimitri Soudas have filed notice to Liberal leader Stephane Dion for what they claim is defamatory libel against their client. Attached below is the letter on behalf of Mr. Soudas that was hand-delivered to Stephane Dion this morning. Soudas is the deputy press secretary to Prime Minister Harper. Over a year ago, Mr. Soudas arranged a meeting between Public Works and Rosedev, a development company from Montreal. Impropriety has been alleged regarding the meeting, which Soudas rejects. Dion, in his classic communications style may have bitten off more than he can chew. Mr. Dion is quoted in the Canwest papers this morning:

I agree with it, if there isn't some control the forum wouldn't be worth reading.

Did Conservatives actually cut Women's programs?
scribblet replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Indeed... Real Women do their own fundraising, no handouts from the taxpayer, unlike Status of Women who do not speak for me. I don't agree with everything Real Women say or do, but I'd rather support them then the other slurpers at the trough. SOW is an outdated militant feminist outfit and should receive no funding from the taxpayers. As for abortion, Harper has made it clear that it is not an issue for the CPC, and as a matter of fact, Harper campaigned on a platform to not change Canada's abortion laws, and the Prime Minister's Office said in 2006 it has no plan to reopen the issue. It was a Liberal MP Paul Steckle who introduced the first piece of pro-life legislation in the current conservative parliament bill C-338,So Jdobbin, trying to make it appear otherwise is flatout not true. One does not have to be a conservative to be against abortion, the Liberals are busy trying to chip away at that one too, so don't try to lay it on the CPC cos it just ain't so. I'm conservative but am pro-choice as are many of the other conservatives I've been around. -
I haven't been posting much for various reasons, but these forums do seem to have changed.... Not much you can do about it but try to keep debate at a higher level. cheers

Good news, I wouldn't say that, although a terrorist might.

CBC Ombudsman to do Internal Investigation
scribblet replied to Canuck E Stan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Say it isn't so, oh my alleged collusion between the Liberal Party and the CBC - suspicions confirmed ! OTTAWA - Today, former Liberal Cabinet Minister and current TVA journalist Jean Lapierre made shocking allegations about strategic collusion between journalists at the CBC and Liberal Members of Parliament at the House of Commons Ethics Committee. According to Lapierre Liberal Members of Parliament asked former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney questions written by journalists at the CBC regarding any involvement in the spectrum auction for cellular and wireless devices. "I knew all about those questions. They were written by the CBC and provided to the Liberal Members of Parliament and the questions that Pablo Rodriguez asked were written by the CBC and I can't believe that but last night, influential Member of Parliament came to me and told me those are the questions that the CBC wants us to ask tomorrow." (CTV Newsnet, December 13, 2007) If proven true these allegations would mark the third major case of orchestrated anti-Conservative bias from a broadcaster that is financed by all Canadians for the benefit of all Canadians. In 2004 an email from Stephanie Matteis of CBC's The National exposed the CBC's search for Canadians that would not vote for the Conservatives because they were "scared, freaked out or worried about the Conservatives, the Conservative agenda or its leader." (http://www.smalldeadanimals.com/archives/003009.HTML ) The CBC was also forced on August 21, 2006 to express "regret" over a story by CBC reporter Christina Lawand that misrepresented an answer given by Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper. (http://www.stephentaylor.ca/archives/000645.HTML ) "This is a very serious allegation that the CBC must provide an answer to," said Conservative Dean Del Mastro. -
The NDP....The Official Party of We're So Sorry
scribblet replied to M.Dancer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm surprised no one is talking more about this... the NDP just blew it big time, Jacko is in hiding with egg all over his face. Not only did she perform a major character assassination, but she managed to tie it all into violence against women. She should apologize to all men too. -
Flagrant Attack on Freedom of the Press
scribblet replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Here you have it folks, for what it's worth: Alan Borovoy, general counsel for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, wrote in the Calgary Herald: "During the years when my colleagues and I were labouring to create (human rights) commissions, we never imagined that they might ultimately be used against freedom of speech." -
Flagrant Attack on Freedom of the Press
scribblet replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Nonsense, it is simply another ploy to stop discussion of radical Islam and what the fundamentalists tell us all the time - they want a global caliphate. Anyone can spout off about Israel, Zionism, Christianity you name it, that's okay, but point out facts and demographs and it's 'hate'... -
