  1. Neither am I, and I wouldn't care whose troops where there to rescue me if need be,.
  2. Actually travel insurance isn't the same as buying health care coverage generally, and personally I've never thought of it as an option. All I want is to be able to be able to pay for some procedures if I want , including MRIs... I can get my dog one anytime, but I can't. I don't want insurance for it, just to pay up front at a private clinic. We buy travel insurance every year from CAA, their main thrust seems to be about heart conditions and meds, the questionaire does not ask about testing for anything. It only asks if you have been diagnosed as having.... whatever, not have you been tested for..
  3. The main thrust of the capitalist system is that it gives all people a change to do better, to create better lives for themselves and also the opportunity to invest money in the expectation of making a profit. Some people are better at it than others, but the opportunities are there, unlike a communist system, where the people at the bottom tend to live pre-industrial lifestyles where the suffer from poverty and malnutrition. Socialistm isn't much better, it just tends to make all people equally poor - no opportunity for anyone to get rich.
  4. Haven't read the whole thread, but Obama is being treated with kid gloves by the media, I think generally people are afraid to go after him for anything for fear of being called racist. Obama talks about change, so does Hillary, can anyone actually list what the changes are - cos I don't think anyone really knows do they. It's all hot air, and besides they have to have a majority in the house to get anything passed.
  5. We take out of country health care coverage every year when we go south, every knows what that entails, if you don't like it, don't travel. If someone chooses to take out health care insurance privately, it is their problem, the point is, no one is forcing you to - it would be an option. Why would I care what someone else does with their money. We should have options, I should be able to pay for an MRI up front if I want one, with or without insurance - why would anyone else care how I spend my money?
  6. Just wondering - but if Harper really did start seducing women imagine the bitchin over that
  7. Right on It sounds like a good idea to me, to have co-operation in civil emergencies - we are all in this together. Boy the anti U.S. paranoia is heating up From someone who is not directly from the PMO's office and interested only in promoting my retirement lifestyle - maybe we can take over Florida
  8. Exactly I guess having the most ethnically diverse MP's, including the first handicapped MP, just isn't enough.
  9. Wot - try Fidel... did you not know that Fidel is a great humanitarian and Cuba is a utopian socialist paradise... Yikes, the Netscape smilies don't work on here
  10. Hardly 'sneaky' when the bill clearly states that abortion is protected, the other bill is trying to stop abortion.
  11. Absolute nonsense, he hasn't made anything up - if you think what is going on in Caledonia is a figment of the imagination, maybe you need to change your drug of choice. We have a double standard here, where one group of people, based on race, is allowed to break the law and terrorize other people.
  12. Okay - so what's your answer to the question on the two bills?
  13. errr.... Margrace attacked first and got it wrong LOL can't believe you're too left wing for rabble, they hate Christians, rita's on rabble too as remind, she was the reason they closed down... I'd like to hear what the difference is between the two bills, and why only the conservative one is sneaky
  14. Thanks, I knew that, and I think she means this site the 50plus forums. I was just wonder why the personal attack on someone....
  15. ???? just wondering if the only people who are disagreeable are people who have different opinions, or who don't like the idea of all people being equally poor LOL
  16. Being American and in the U.S. enabled her to acquire that education... Health care wouldn't be that much better under Obama, besides all of them need a majority house - right? I haven't seen Bill O. or any of the use the word pinhead against Obama, in fact O'Reilly had a black liberal Professor and a black rep. on to discuss the issue, there was no name calling. You want name calling, check out moveon.org or democratic underground for starters. The teamsters union (and others) have just endorsed Obama...
  17. Yeah, guess it's only 'sneaky' when a conservative does it LOL
  18. It does seem to be the atheists who are doing the prostelyzing around here - LOL
  19. By 'they' I assume you mean conservatives. 'They' also include many Liberals who feel the same way. in fact Paul Steckle introduced Bill C-338 last June, a private members bill that, if passed into law, would make abortion illegal after the 20th week of pregnancy. What about Tom Wappel , Joe Comuzzi. Joe Volpe, Pat O'Brien ,Jim Karygiannis for starters. Any back-bencher can put forward a bill, that's democracy, and many people including the oppositions
  20. His wife doesn't appear to be proud of her Country That’s what she said recently according to the news. (and not the first time) Only her husband’s run for president has made her proud of America - Nothing America has done in Michelle Obama’s adult life, has made her proud of her country - graduating from Yale and Princeton hasn't made her proud. Guess she's not proud of the Civil Rights Act (1991) - Or Ruth Ginsburg’s elevation to the Supreme Court etc. etc. Is she only now proud because she has a chance to be First Lady - too bad she tries to gain political points by bashing her own country.
  21. I imagine it would be dear to the heart of families who have lost someone in such a crime.
  22. I read a couple of years ago, that there was a land claim coming along in Ontario that would take in all of the province. I haven't heard anything since then, but I wonder how people who support this terrorism would feel if their house was sitting on a land claim !!
  23. LOL I just went over there and had a look, couldn't read much without barfing However, it would behoove people who make such hyberbolic rantings to read Epps website http://www.kenepp.com/issues/insidepage.asp?ID=86 it's quite clear Having commented on that I don't believe it should be a crime unless it is proven that the killer actually did intend to kill the fetus.... I wonder how many pregnant women are killed simply because they are pregnant !
  24. I have been listening to a lot of U.S. talk as I'm currently in Florida, so far I haven't heard much disdain at all for Obama or any of the 'talking heads' on Fox or elsewhere putting Obama down - if anything most of the media is giving him an almost hands off treatment, or treating him with kid gloves. There is no propaganda suggesting that he might be a terrorist or anything else, that issue came from some email going the rounds. The big question is exactly what change does Obama stand for, he says a lot but there doesn't seem to much of anything concrete coming from him. Also, does this change take on the special interests in his own party such as the teachers' unions, the AARP or other big left wing lobby groups - I doubt it. The Annenberg Political Fact Check, or Factheck.org said that Obama is being misleading when he says his healthcare proposal would "cover everyone." In fact, Factcheck.org says Obama's plan would make coverage available to all, but experts that the organization consulted estimate that 15 to 26 million Americans would not take it up unless required to do so, which means, the new policy would still leave almost half the currently un-insured, still un-insured. and so on... I doubt that he will change much of anything, and if he wins, those who voted for him will be in for a rude awakening.
  25. That's about it, but as usual there's nothing to this and I don't understand the point... the Liberals and I guess conservative senators visited new Mexico to study how the use of casinos have impacted poverty - there was no mention that any Senators actually used a casinos's gambling facilities. (if that was the point) Personally I don't like casinos, IMHO they only contribute to poverty while lining the pockets of the owners I suppose.
