  1. There have been problems with gender inequality but it's changing, this article just a rant against men. affirmative action for men - say it isn't so... http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/time-to-lead/failing-boys/is-affirmative-action-for-men-the-answer-to-enrolment-woes/article1766432/
  2. The fact that NPR is some public funding is also an issue, but they may have done Williams a favour LOL The wider issue here IMO is the aggressive suppression of free speech and continuing intolerance from the left. The last I heard was that steyn's speech is a no go due to complaints from certain quarters. http://www.nationalpost.com/news/Centre+refuses+host+Steyn+lecture+free+speech/3709430/story.html
  3. Is there any chance that congress could pull their funding? It just seems to me that the left is becoming more intolerant towards opposing views and extremely more aggressive at shutting down free speech, it's very chilling.
  4. Williams was fired for telling the truth, this attempt by the left to stifle dissent and free speech is becoming more aggressive IMO. The CEO's comments about Williams where out of line too. Just this week, Mark Steyn's talk in London, Ontario was cancelled due to pressure from Muslim groups, and George S. is busy trying to shut down Fox et al. and threatening to sue writers, Canadian writers don't have the same free speech protection as in the U.S. - Pity. Couple this with the attempt by Avaaz to shut down the proposed SunTV, and it seems that the muzzling of free speech is becoming more aggressive. http://www.newsrealblog.com/2010/10/21/george-soros-targets-glenn-beck-and-fox-news-for-eradication/ http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2010/10/21/a-common-cause-for-muslims-and-jews-free-speech/
  5. I'd have to read it again and don't care to, if I remember correctly that one had sexual references in it too. Maybe Mallick has an underlying problem. LOL
  6. I didn't see any nuance...
  7. What nuance LOL All women do not live it everyday, all men are not murdering pigs nor do all men expend a lot of effort keeping women pregnant - gimme a break, she's losing it or maybe she never had it if you read some of her other claptrap - see the one on Ford being Mayor... or the one where she said “It’s possible that Republican men, sexual inadequates that they are, really believe that women will vote for a woman just because she’s a woman.” Hmmm - methinks Mallick is the one with a hangup
  8. No wonder the CBC didn't want Mallick, what a pile of s..t, she tries to juxtapose her anti men rant against the loving brother and the good cop... spare me. I don't really want to give her any more publicity but this is bad, even for Mallick. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/article/878656--mallick-good-guys-nabbed-russell-williams Really, well I don't live it every day, most women don't, talk about stereotyping men, and your raving anti male feminist. !!
  9. I have voted Liberal provincially, NDP Federally in my much younger days and for a while Liberal federally - However, I don't find CTV conservative at all, in fact I agree they are pretty banal.
  10. So - I haven't heard anything yet that would lead me to believe it's biased, I have always seen it as neutral, straight reporting. I generally try to watch the 6:00 pm news and sometimes their newsnet but it's just a loop of the same news all day.
  11. There's a good piece here with some explanations about Germany and some reason for the failure of multi-cult. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/religionandethics/episodes/august-6-2010/muslims-in-germany/6758/
  12. Who would've thought that Calgary actually elected the first conservative MP years ago, and that Calgary has the most ethnic, religious group of elected representatives than any other major Canadian city. So much for stereotypes.
  13. I said de-indexing, as in the income tax system which after years resulted in both levels of gov'ts netting around $90-billion in new revenue.
  14. What's not in the cache ?
  15. Indeed, he is a multi talented person LOL It's called HDS (Harper Derangement Syndrome)
  16. The conservatives have done a pretty good job so far. McGuinty is in trouble but he can turn it around. Heck I just heard that the off peak hours for hydro will be reduced by a minute amount, but wait, the other hours will go up LOL
  17. They are not refugees, they volunteered knowing about the wars then simply changed their mind to desert, if they were real conscientious objectors they wouldn't have signed up in the first place.
  18. I've read different takes on it, some say fired, some say canned, some say banned from writing about climate change, either way he's not going to be allowed to propagate his well - propaganda he also rewrote biographies of scientists and others he disagreed with, to either belittle their accomplishments or make them appear to be frauds, http://www.nationalpost.com/m/blog.html?b=fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2010/10/14/lawrence-solomon-global-warming-propagandist-slapped-down&s=Opinion One wonders what else is iffy on wiki although I think we all knew it was never really impartial. In fact, I've read that some schools have banned wiki as a reference source.
  19. Yawn ZZZZZ A propaganda activist rewrote over 5000 Wikipedia articles on climate change to ensure they complied with his alarmist line. - he's lost his bully pulpit
  20. Where did I say that, don't impute words to me that weren't said.
  21. Yup, but some people don't make the distinction, they seem to think he's a real news commentator. I don't understand how people can say CTV is right wing, I watch it because to me it's pretty well neutral.
  22. Don't forget that Martin's success was on the backs of the taxpayer, major cutbacks in transfer payments to health and education, then there was the EI surplus thrown into general revenue, tax increases, many due to de-indexation and higher payroll taxes.
  23. I use FB but not a lot, mainly to talk to people in the U.K. I've had no security problems but I'm careful with my settings and never use or download any third party apps. I've wondered how FB makes money because I don't notice a lot of advertising on there, do they sell your email address or ? okay I just saw this Read more: http://business.financialpost.com/2010/10/18/fp-tech-desk-facebook-apps-sending-personal-information-to-data-tracking-firms-wsj/#ixzz12jwQyr29
