  1. Funny that it was a Liberal being charged with possession of stolen property e.g. conservative lawn signs LOL
  2. That forum is not representative of most Conservatives IMO, it is mainly the far right socialist=conservative, anti abortion crowd, who now hate Harper because he doesn't support abortion. When you have actual proof come back.
  3. I understand that Elections Canada ordered changes to the system of processing voters this year but with no "time trials" on the times required to process each voter. Not sure if it's new this time or not, but I thought one could vote at any advanced poll in their riding, but not so, you can only vote at your designated advanced poll. We found out the hard way as we were in town for some time and new we couldn't make it back in time to vote near home, so went in to another one, we couldn't vote without a transfer from the R.O. Hubby got dropped off the voters list too but we haven't moved, he went into the R.O. and got one a few days ago. No idea how it happens, neither do they LOL
  4. Garbage and a lie, change the title to reflect actuality ! You nor anyone else know who is doing this. I could tell you some stories about Liberal antics with signs...
  5. he's not in caucus, there's an election, he may not get elected again either.
  6. Which is what, that the Liberals really like it ?
  7. If it's so bad why didn't the Liberals try to change it when they were in power. Maybe they like it and would never support a bill from Harper which Harper knows - really the knee jerk reactions to this are amazing. ( well maybe not)
  8. Why would the 'cons' want to change it, has there been public outcry for it, do Liebrals want it changed, in all their years of power why didn't they change this 1938 law - which has nothing to do with Elections Canada trying to enforce legislation on social media. http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/decision-canada/Outdated+thwarts+real+time+election+results/4652965/story.html
  9. I just heard on the news that E.C. is planning to ban posting elections results on social media. Exactly how will they enforce this, but if there is a media blackout what twits would have the results in order to tweet http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/decision-canada/Twitter+Facebook+election+night+posts+draconian/4647769/story.html
  10. No, the rest of the bot-herd skipped so they wouldn't have to vote LOL
  11. So far they haven't approved other attempts. Women are not in danger of losing abortion rights, what you might see is majority support for limits on late term, which the majority of people support. I believe it's 24 weeks in Britain, and in Sweden they must get permission after 18 weeks. IMO 24 weeks except for health reasons is a reasonable compromise./
  12. Exactly, but people do buy into the scary scary tactics and believe what they are told. However, it does bring up the issue of rights and freedom of expression, there are many people who strongly believe that abortion is wrong,in both parties, they don't see abortion as a women's 'right', they see it as murder, an argument that IMO will never go away. They are entitled to a voice in a democratic gov't and MPs have a right to put forward private bills on the issue (and do)that's the way our system works. If I remember correctly Liberal MP Paul Steckle introduced a bill to ban abortions, someone will keep on doing it. From what I read in the article, no decision has been made on the funding, although I thought the issue was settled last year.
  13. Very interesting it does give one pause for thought. Considering the man's plight I have to agree that people should have the right and ability to delete incorrect or out of date information online. How that would be done I don't know, but this is reputation destroying data IMO so he should be able to refute it or add the resulting outcome. How about requiring the publications who come up in the search engines, be required to print the outcome of such cases. Wiki comes to mind here and the often incorrect information on there, but at least we can go in and edit but it doesn't always stay LOL
  14. Oh sure they <sarcasm here> El Toro Poo Poo and then some.
  15. Get real... if that is so than I stand corrected, I did believe proxy voting was still allowed, must have been getting mixed up with Ontario.
  16. Right dear, and students can vote by proxy... as per E.C.
  17. I think if William has a boy, he would be next line usurping Prince Harry et al.
  18. Harper believes in women's right as much as anyone, again, the title of this thread is misleading. I'm not clear on how Harper is stopping this legislation, do we get to vote on a British law? I believe he's right about not wanting to get into a discussion right now, it's not the time during an election. I do agree that the law needs to be changed, but I bet opening up that debate would also open up the other can of worms about the Monarch in general.
  19. Really, I'd be surprised if the appointees aren't all Liberals... LOL
  20. Yes - right http://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=vot&dir=bkg&document=ec90785〈=e Anyone can vote by proxy in the Ontario election.
  21. Now there's a fact LOL Students can vote like anyone else, by mail, by proxy, advance polls and at the R.O. unlike people in nursing home for instance who can't. Nursing homes can be provided with a mobile poll on voting day. (they can't mob vote either LOL ) Even though we can't reverse EC's decision, but considering the whole thing, there should be an audit to make sure all procedures were followed correctly and there is no chance the students could get a second vote.
  22. It was a special poll, for which they actually have to register for, they don't need a voter card. They can also go to the returning office anytime and vote there. IMO it didn't require a special poll, I just happen to believe that this was an organized 'votemob' thing attempting to swing the vote for the Liberals.
  23. It's becoming an election strategy now. -
  24. Horsecrap yourself. Voters at the special poll have to register and designate where they want their vote to go, those who are national voters and wish to vote in their home riding may elect to do so, but those ballots have to be mailed, and the ballots are blank so they have to write in the name of the candidate. So any ballots in the box are for that riding. The 'votemob' concept was to get these students organized to vote in that riding as it was a close call the last time.
