You do know what 'robo calls' are don't you. Other than that, you have nothing but innuendo and speculation.

Just read this morning but didn't keep the link, that they allready have identified a young campaign worker, but the damage is allready done with the NDP and the CBC in full tilt - destroy Harper - mode. They have been furiously slinging mud while allowed to frame the narrative before fact finding, they have been successful in their mudslinging, innuendo and gossip. No matter what facts are presented now, it's too late, judgement has been rendered.

So far that's what I'm reading too, I don't see the CBC making a list of other parties using the same firm. As far as I'm concerned this is nothing but an ongoing attempt to delegitimize a duly elected majority government and unfortunately facts won't count when the issue is resolved. NDP Martin allready did the damage by framing the issue ahead of any investigation and the CBC continues screaming and pushing the 'fraud' meme. This as all again, supposition and gossip with no facts whatsoever, but the usual culprits rush to judgement first, because it's in their interests to damage the Tories by flinging mud which they know can stick, regardless of the outcome. IMO Mr. Harper should hire a private investigator to clear this up. I'm also pretty sure that the media knows who the scurillious twitterer was but isn't revealing it, but you'll bet if they find out who this is, they will.

Toews says we support Child Pornographers
scribblet replied to olpfan1's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You know, reading through stuff and the title of this thread confirms that those with an agenda really do make stuff up. Actually Toews did not say that those opposed to the bill are pedophiles. He invited opponents to go stand with them, and that is a very different thing. What he said was obviously stupid, but he didn’t call anyone a pedophile, so we should quote what Minister Toews actually said. -

I agree it was over the top, and also agree that it was in response to over the top rhetoric and outlandish suggestions by the opposition. Which speaks to the issue of behaviour and the ethics (or lack thereof) behind the use of social media - or - the new tabloid journalism. It will be addressed on Sunday with Craig Oliver but I won't be able to watch it so hopefully there will be a write up or I can watch it online later. One thing among the uproar is the media et al overlooking the Liberal hypocrisy over this, just as they overlook the faux outrage from Liberals over the very mention of possible changes to OAS... It seems, many if not all changes are acceptable to many as long as it's the liberals making them. wub go figure http://www.ottawacitizen.com/news/Snoop%2Balready%2Bhere%2Bthanks%2BLiberals/6173295/story.html But lost in all the insults and the predictable antics in the House, is the inconvenient fact - particularly for the Liberal Party of Canada - that while in government not too long ago, it lifted the longtime ban on this country's super-secret electronic eavesdropping agency, the Communications Security Establishment (CSE), to intercept Canadians' electronic, Internet and cellular traffic. When and how did this lawful invasion of Canadians' privacy come into force? Well, shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Jean Chrétien's government introduced the Canadian Anti-terrorism Act, which included a provision that in large measure enshrined into law the potentially pervasive spying on Canadians that Liberal interim leader Bob Rae is now railing against. - The Liberal party's hypocrisy is as predictable as it is instructive. -

Sure it would because they knew from the earlier bill how unpopular it was, but surely Toews was not the only person to work on it, there would've been a committee etc. I still believe there is a lack of communication somewhere, because Toews and other MPs are still saying that is that the police can ask the ips provider to give them the name etc for the person in question but they still have to get a search warrant to access the account. I often believe that the opposition over the top hyperbole and rhetoric swamps out the facts. Never the less, it will likely be changed. Also read that other countries such as Australia have similar legislation, I'd like to see what they have and how similar it really is. I also believe there should be more accountability for behaviour in the HOC, it's getting worse, and that includes Wayne Easter and his over the top comments. -

Toews is backtracking on that now - but you guys do know that the bill is going back to committee for discussion and likely amendments before going to second reading. Mr. Harper actually did that a few days ago. -

Well, according to the CBC there could be an investigation coming up. ETA link http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ottawa-notebook/tories-accuse-ndp-of-dirty-sleazy-twitter-attack-on-e-snooping-champion/article2342111/?utm_medium=Feeds%3A%20RSS%2FAtom&utm_source=Politics&utm_content=2342111 It shouldn't be too hard for their IT dept. to track an IP address (if the Ottawa Citizen will give it up) -

Gosh looky here, whoda thunk it http://www.ottawacitizen.com/business/Vikileaks30%2Blinked%2BHouse%2BCommons%2Baddress/6165497/story.html OTTAWA — An IP address connected to what is known as the Vikileaks30 Twitter account originates within the House of Commons. In a bid to determine the origin of the account, which details personal information about Public Safety Minister Vic Toews, The Citizen undertook an investigation on Thursday. An email was sent to the writer of the Vikileaks30 Twitter account, containing a link to a website. The website was monitored by The Citizen and only the author of Vikileaks30 had the address of the website. Actually that's what I'd like to know, and how many have actually read the bill which is more than just the one issue people are hyperventilating about. I sent out emails to all MPs, so far I've received a few replies that are not automated that generally go like this: Despite what you may have heard, the police will not be able to read emails or view web activity unless they obtain a warrant issued by a judge. Bill C-30 requires telecommunications service providers to put in place and maintain certain capabilities that facilitate the lawful interception of information transmitted by telecommunications. This will enable them to provide basic subscriber information when required in order to assist law enforcement investigate crimes committed via telecommunications, especially the internet. Basic subscriber information would be limited to a customer's name, address, telephone number, email address, Internet Protocol (IP) address, and the name of the telecommunications service provider. It absolutely does not include the content of emails, phones calls or online activities. Giving authorities access to basic subscriber information does not give them either the technical ability or the legal authority to monitor personal communications and activities. We have also constructed safeguards in the legislation to protect the privacy of law-abiding Canadians, including audits by privacy commissioners. seems to me there's a lot of misinformation going around and maybe the Tories are having a problem communication the actual content ? -

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/deaconsbench/2011/04/guttmacher-most-catholic-women-use-artificial-birth-control/ A new report from the Guttmacher Institute, the nonprofit sexual health research organization, shows that only 2 percent of Catholic women, even those who regularly attend church, rely on natural family planning. The latest data shows practices of Catholic women are in line with women of other religious affiliations and adult American women in general.
