  1. Really - the case was frivolous, they had no case, and again - not one case of a voter not being able to vote... etc. etc. Even if it was from their data base and it was a conservative campaign worker, so what ? It doesn't implicate the whole party and it doesn't make their case any more worthy. You missed to part from the judge who said there was no evidence to show the party approved or condoned that use of its data. This is old stuff repeated over and over. They are claiming that their bogus claims were filed in the "public interest". This is the same argument used by the person who tried to get Rob Ford removed from office in Toronto, as if overturning democratic elections is in the public interest.
  2. Agreed. I haven't seen anything anywhere from actual conservatives saying they want a leadership review. All of this is being pushed by the left with no basis in fact. IMO they are dreaming and Aug.91 is right, we'll see one more term for Harper, then my guess is it will swing back to the Liberals.
  3. Seems that way to me also. The COC were simply looking to do an end run around the elections results because they can't wait for another election. Good for them, it's about time the Tories fought back. I'm not a subscriber to the free press so can't reply to any comments but I wish I could correct the often repeated lie about what Harper supposedly said in 2006. They are repeating a Liberal attack ad from 2006 , which shows that people really do buy into those attack ads. What Mr. Harper actually said In fact was in 2004 at a conservative convention “We can create a country built on solid Conservative values, not on expensive Liberal promises, a country the Liberals wouldn’t even recognize, the kind of country I want to lead.”
  4. Thanks, although I'm not sure how reliable wiki is on the description and purpose etc. However, I see that it a lobby group, one of many from both sides of the fence. It is sad that some people have to politicize this tragedy. Next thing you know they'll be blaming the Conservative Party for starting the flood in order to avoid having the convention.
  5. Too many bugs and crummy weather, not much kayaking. Maybe next time.

  6. Thanks, I was looking for that info.
  7. Maybe you could give us a link and explain what it has to do with the Alberta Floods... thanks
  8. Sorry, I was referring to post #167, a personal attack on a poster (me ) not the public figure.
  9. and, according to the Conservative's lawyer, they actually advertised for applicants, chose the ridings and provided the applicants with the legal arguments. According to Wiki PressTV is 24-hour English language news network owned by the state-owned media corporation Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). Its headquarters are located in Tehran, Iran. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Press_TV
  10. Yes you are wrong. I'm surprised that you would even pose such a question, a little over the top IMO. Did you ask the same question about Chretien the "little dictator" or the "Little bully" There's a book about Chretien titled The Friendly Dictatorship. Trudeau kept tight control of his ship too, did you ask that about him.
  11. Good question here on the issue taking money from an interest group. http://www2.macleans.ca/2013/06/19/justin-trudeau-and-unions/ Should a political leader accept thousands of dollars from an interest group and then take positions on policy issues that defend the interests of that group?
  12. Doesn't fit very well with the board's policy on personal attacks. You know what they say about that.
  13. Exactly, it has been discussed, this is the same story reported in May with a major spin on it, omitting those facts. The radical left wing Council of Canadians can't get over their court loss. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2013/05/31/pol-robocalls-court-decision.html Mosley said he was not finding that the Conservative Party, its candidates or the suppliers providing live and automated robocalls were directly involved in "the campaign to mislead voters."
  14. Actually it sounds like there are two sets of rules here, one for Mulcair who got away with breaking the law by driving through stop signs, while MP Eve Adams was fined for talking on her cellphone while driving through a checkpoint. I guess pulling a Reece Witherspoon paid off for Mr. Mulcair. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2013/06/19/pol-adams-cell-driving-ticket.html
  15. Good news, thanks for posting this. Maybe there is hope yet as more communities are fighting back. http://manverswindconcerns.wordpress.com/ Again, can't trim the pic. out of the post...
  16. I guess the media just takes us all for fools. There’s a decent commentary here which IMP pretty much sums it up. As he says, common sense should have prevailed. http://www.canada.com/news/MacDonald+Where+Trudeau+went+wrong/8542428/story.html
  17. Just a thought. Maybe the people in the PMO's office should've told the media they were drug dealers
  18. Will the media give the same amount of coverage to this Liberal connection to a charity that paid Trudeau. http://childrenofhope.ca/advisors/mark-holland/ I suppose in retrospect, the Conservatives should quit trying to be like the Liberals who actually did the same thing when trying to discredit Charest. I suppose all is fair is love, war and politics, but maybe if the media laid down it's arms, the gov't would too.
  19. I agree they shouldn't have done it, but if you think for one minute that the other parties don't leak stuff to the press I can sell you some swampland. The media wouldn't have batted an eye if they did it outside of the PMO, because as we know, the media is just AOK with unnamed anonymous sources including drug dealer. In fact, we know they are willing to ruin a person's life based on anonymous sources and allegations so why all of a sudden have they developed a conscience. Double standards because the media decides which sources it protects, or not.. What about the facebook stalking of the director's daughter, how many liberals are on the charity's board. What about Liberal shills inside the Ottawa Press Gallery holding the story and deciding not to run it because they didn't want to hurt Trudeau. They are the ones in damage control mode.
  20. If it was a no go and explained, please provide the link or source.
  21. They did, you have no proof of that.
  22. Agreed the optics are still the same, and note that the Media Party is now in full damage control mode as there`s more to this. So liberals don`t like this but are perfectly at ease with reporting on Rob Ford using drug dealers as their `source`, and perfectly comfortable with using innuendo and supposition from undisclosed sources to smear a politician. The only slime here is that of charging numerous good charities high speaking fees. http://txwikinger.wordpress.com/2013/06/18/media-party-spiked-trudeau-speech-story-and-now-go-on-attack-to-defend-him It turns out that the Liberal shills inside the Ottawa Press Gallery originally had the story that the Grace Foundation charity was asking for a refund from Trudeau and decided not to run it but now that it is out, are in full-damage control mode. The Media Party started this by Facebook stalking the daughter of one of the board members of this charity who has strong Conservative ties and posting her photo on Twitter and in articles…
  23. Weather's getting better, kayaks and geocaching are calling. Have a good summer if I don't see you around.
