  1. Here’s a scandal for you, Emery says Justin Trudeau smoked hashish with him a few times.. where’s the media on this one.

  2. I'm not a 'Ford Loyalist', one does not have be so in order to take exception to the type of journalism we are seeing. I would have voted for another guy running. If John Tory had run, he would've been my pick. I have a problem with anonymous sources, anonymous drug dealers/users as informants and, no actual evidence. I don't condone this type of behaviour if true, but the pack/herd mentality of the media and their lack of substantive evidence is a problem. The Star has stepped over the line with it's vindictive personal vendetta which I think, is turning a lot of people off. So, yeah, taking all of this into consideration I'd like to see Ford win another term just to watch the Star et al heads explode.
  3. No idea what you are talking about or what it has to do with the Rob Ford situation.
  4. The riots are spreading, if you can get BBC world news they have been showing it. These countries need to get a grip somehow on this, France is still experiencing problems. and in Holland problems are ongoing, similar to other Euro countries. BBC have it too. http://beta.dawn.com/news/1013710/riots-in-sweden-spread-beyond-the-capital http://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/europe/dutch-anxiety-over-sharia-triangle-police-no-go-area-in-the-hague-1.1404541
  5. Totally agree. IMO, unless the video in question surfaces Ford should go on running the city. Let the voters decide next year. If he did buy the video what proof would he have that there are no copies floating around. I like a quote from Christie Blatchford's column in the NP this morning. “My understanding,” he wrote, “is that one of the most fundamental rules of good journalism is to always — always — obtain a corroborating source for any material allegation before a story is published. “Furthermore, when someone’s personal reputation is at stake, simple human decency if not journalistic professionalism, ought to dictate particular care in sourcing any allegations, since informants may have many and diverse motives other than a pristine dedication to the truth for feeding a juicy story to a journalist. “The Star has very conspicuously run, without any form of corroboration, a story it obtained from a couple of professional criminals, and unless I am missing something, I find it appalling that such a practice can be passed off as good journalism.” Mr. Bogue is correct about much and maybe all of that, I think. http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2013/05/24/christie-blatchford-3/
  6. LOL I know. I just think it's funny that whenever something comes up the opposition wants to call in the RCMP.
  7. I don't think they are and no one is calling for the RCMP to be called in. The RCMP of course are now being used as a political tool by the opposition.
  8. The other one is NDP MP, Hoang Mai, also in the process of paying money back that is owed to Quebec's revenue agency.
  9. Just heard there's another one... Isn't it ironic that the NDP who promote equality, don't want to be equal with those who pay their taxes. Heard on the news their wages will be garnisheed.. Luv it... http://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/ndp-mp-loses-shadow-cabinet-post-over-non-payment-of-taxes-1.1295450
  10. I'm not 'angry' at being told the 'truth'. We don't know how much is truth or how much the media is holding back, much is suggestion and innuendo. If I had an employee who (likely) has to sign a contract or some confidentiality agreement I would expect them to keep it. Running to the media without giving a name is pretty low, as is the media using unsupported, undocumented information. We know that some of Robert Fife's reporting isn't true because the lawyer has said there's no letter. How much else is wrong ? IMO the whole thing is blown out of proportion as usual, so a little perspective here. Changing a draft... isn't that what drafts are, a beginning document to which people can edit and make changes. It's the final document that is signed off on that counts. A little perspective here. Duffy and Wallin padding expense accounts is unethical, but as far political scandals go it's pretty ho hum. It was pretty stupid of Wright to give money to Duffy but he's gone, so move on. Nothing more to see here, but that's not how it works for the all opposition. Get Stephen Harper! Duffy ‘affair’ has exposed a pandemic of Harper Derangement Syndrome http://opinion.financialpost.com/2013/05/24/peter-foster-get-stephen-harper-duffy-affair-has-exposed-a-pandemic-of-harper-derangement-syndrome/
  11. His actions are not the fault of the media, but the harassment and vendetta by one paper in particular is problematic. The media is relying on a lot of anonymous sources, innuendo and supposition. They can fling a lot of mud on the basis of allegations with no solid proof. It becomes a circus and really, I feel sorry for anyone being hounded like that.
  12. I don't know, but whoever they are they gave Robert Fife’s bad information. There is no letter according to the lawyer Perrin but you know what’ll happen now. The consensus media will gloss over that or ignore it. How much else is wrong ! Text from Perrin’s statement Last night’s CTV story in relation to me, which is based on unattributed sources, is false. I was not consulted on, and did not participate in, Nigel Wright’s decision to write a personal cheque to reimburse Senator Duffy’s expenses. I have never communicated with the Prime Minister on this matter. ETA: “Anonymous sources” - unknown beings and useful tools for the media when they are out to slag someone in particular. Maybe the real ‘scandal’ is with those journos who don’t wait for the facts but go ahead with smears coming from these “Anonymous sources”.
  13. Now there's a thought.. Really though, if it came from someone inside the PMO then the PM needs to investigate then fire their ass..
  14. Exactly !! If the Star didn't have such a track record of trashing Ford at every opportunity they would have more credibility. In fact, IMO people are going over to Ford's side because they are fed up with this type of journalism and turning people off. I wouldn't defend this type of (alleged) behaviour but I'd vote for Ford just see the Star's heads explode.
  15. Talking about Gawker - have you seen the latest Proceed with caution and as one comment said: This money ain’t gonna buy a kitty rescue shelter - 200K is gonna buy a lot of crack. Anyone contributing to this, is contributing to putting more crack out on the street and destroying lives. http://gawker.com/rob-ford-crackstarter-update-509596078 If you are considering contributing, you should be aware that our confidence that we can get a deal done has, on account of the foregoing, diminished since we came up with this idea. This doesn't mean that it won't happen, or that we won't get a call in ten minutes, or that the publication of this post won't spur the owner of the video to reach out and re-affirm his interest in selling it. But this is where we are at. So: Proceed with caution. We will update you just as soon as we have any further information on how this might play out. Don't smoke crack.
  16. Okay - who answered this ad dated Jan. - fess up. http://toronto.canadianlisted.com/other-jobs/looking-for-rob-ford-look-alike-imposter-toronto_1662709.html Do you look like Mayor Rob Ford? I need someone who looks like Rob Ford to play the mayor in my film. It's a short shot of the mayor smoking a cigar and chuckling into the camera - as part of a montage. It's a dark comedy set in Toronto. Please send a photo for consideration and more information. Location: Toronto
  17. I guess it's all the west's fault that they hack people to death, riot in Sweden (and elsewhere), blow innocent people up including other Muslims .
  18. It was on BBC world news today, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22622909 and the Guardian speak to a 'conspiracy of silence' .... It sure looks like it here, I don't see much in our papers. I guess socialism isn't the cure for all ills.
  19. Sweden has had problems for a long time but not much in the MSM media about it, but saw this on the BBC. Not much said about who or why. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22636288 and http://www.thelocal.se/48050/20130522/#.UZ1ZsEoRGco
  20. I haven't read the whole report, but check this out. Deloitte audit only recommended Duffy repay $1050 - not $90,000+ http://www.danieldickin.ca/2013/05/deloitte-audit-only-recommended-duffy.html Forget the media's interpretations of the Mike Duffy expense "scandal" - here's the Deloitte report in full (http://www.parl.gc.ca/Content/SEN/Committee/411/ciba/rep/Deloitte_SenDuffy-e.pdf), without any of the biased spin we've been bombarded with in the past weeks. Strangely, reports about this report and interpretations have run rampant, yet the actual audit report has remained burried on the Senate committees' website. Take this interesting fact: Deloitte only recommended that Duffy repay $1050.60, because a temporary staffer mistakenly claimed a per diem while he was in Florida (p. 18). That's a far cry from the $90,000+ he actually repaid. In fact, Deloitte had nothing to do with recommending Duffy repay the $90,000+: "Deloitte was not involved in the determination of the amount that was repaid by Senator Duffy." (13) While we're on the topic, here's the report on Liberal Senator Mac Harb's residence expenses (http://www.parl.gc.ca/Content/SEN/Committee/411/ciba/rep/Deloitte_SenHarb-e.pdf), and independent Senator Patrick Brazeau's expenses (http://www.ctvnews.ca/polopoly_fs/1.1274545!/httpFile/file.pdf).
  21. The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 12600, Oklahoma City, OK, 73157, with cheques to be made out to "Oklahoma Tornado Relief" for donations.

  22. How awful, I can't imagine the devastation and loss of life.
  23. None of those, he will go on the trip, and rightly so, trade is important. Stephen Harper will confront the Senate expenses imbroglio head-on in an unusual open speech to his caucus, trying to calm public outrage by confirming his commitment to reform the Red Chamber. The address Tuesday, with cameras rolling, will be the first time the Prime Minister has spoken to Canadians since the conflagration began spreading, eventually claiming his chief of staff on Sunday, after a $90,000 payout to beleaguered Senator Mike Duffy. The Harper government has long proposed legislation to reform the Senate by imposing term limits and allowing for provincial elections of future senators, although the measures have not made any progress. The government has referred questions about the constitutionality of its reform plan to the Supreme Court, which slowed down the approval of the legislation that is being contested by some provinces.
