Why wouldn't it follow that he would know how to make a fake video. Well unless he was a poor student. There you go, no proof of anything at all, poof - gone - it was fun while it lasted. Now maybe Ford can get on with running the city and more surpluses. Wonder when the Star will apologize for the error in their reporting of Ford supposedly asking for emails to be deleted - maybe they should be charged with criminal mischief.
-
What is, the fact that one of the drug dealers was a visual arts student so would know how to manufacture a video.
-
True.. It's amazing how often videos get leaked and posted so I'm kind of surprise that this alleged video hasn't surfaced somewhere and been posted. When you want something leaked, it isn't.
-
They say they saw something which they could not substantiate but went ahead with a full scale smear job. You know what isn't mentioned much? Anthony Smith was a visual arts student in college, which is what - hmmm interdisciplinary art using installation, video, photography and digital media. IMO they were set up and have been had. Crack dealers wanted to make some money but didn't expect the blow back and publicity. (they should have).
-
It should, but the Star is continuing to investigate doncha know. Maybe the media mob will leave City Hall and let staff get on with business. It must be pretty intimidating and stressful for the staff to go through this fiasco. Maybe the Star should be charged with criminal mischief However, let Ford be judged on his performance at the next election, not by mob rule rumour and innuendo. BTW, when is the Star going to apologize to Ford for saying that he order emails erased which was untrue, or did I miss that one.
-
And of course, no apology for trying destroy someone's life based on unsubstantiated evidence, anonymous drug dealers and no hard evidence at all. The media should be ashamed of themselves for making the British tabloids look good. Those who clamoured for Ford's head should also be ashamed of themselves for being judge, jury and executioner based on unsubstantiated allegations and not a shred of actual proof. The Star is getting what they deserve for running with a story based on rumours, innuendo and sleazy drug dealers. Those two reporters should be dusting off their resumes.
-
I think Gawker and the Star have been had. What is disturbing is how many other journalists jumped on the bandwagon demanding more answers from Ford. Now that it appears the video doesn't exist they are all looking like fools. As bad as the media can get, this is a new low in the Rob Ford affair. A completely fabricated scandal designed by the media to discredit the mayor. The Star (and Gawker) should’ve been able to smell a set up
-
Just saw that... hmmm that leave the Star et al on the hook to corroborate their story. http://gawker.com/the-rob-ford-crack-video-might-be-gone-511254183

Wow, I wonder how the CAW managed to get the 550 meter rule superseded !!! This is in the middle of town with total disregard for health concerns, not to mention property values... -

Less than 550, that's not right. http://www.ene.gov.on.ca/environment/en/subject/wind_energy/ it shouldn't have happened. This is part of the problem, McGuinty took away the rights of municipalities to have any say in the matter. Not only that, environmental concerns don't matter when it comes to wind turbines. http://www.savethebluffs.ca/ I can`t imagine wind turbines at East Point Park, it would be a desecration. It seems there is enough opposition to this one to stall it. http://torontoobserver.ca/2012/09/29/scarborough-bluffs-wind-gauge-removed-from-lake-ontario/ and in my area http://www.protectnorthumberlandhills.org/ -
I heard on the news a couple of days ago that they would step in and they are watching this issue closely. Gawker cannot legally wire that kind of money without declaring it. If they tried to take cash across the border they have to declare it, anyone working for Gawker will be watched as will known drug dealers. Heck they are evidently in hiding now. Oh, and they can Western Union the money in increment under $10,000. but no doubt W. U. and the police will be watching as the recipient must show ID and so on. Anything above $10,000 has to be declared. And as a recent NP article says “the purchase of the video itself isn’t illegal, but if the recipient — the details of which must be known for wire transfers and other electronic transactions — is a known criminal and shows up on a list of suspects or suspicious individuals, it will be reported to FINTRAC in Canada or FINCEN in the U.S.” Not looking good for the drug dealers getting the money.

I take Mr. Harper at his word and believe that the Chief of Staff did his job by insulating the PM from every day happenings I don't believe he knew because - Nigel Wright would've made sure he didn't know. -
John Tory keeps saying he won't run, his wife would divorce him if he did and, he wouldn't run against Rob Ford. I wonder if Rob Ford didn't run would he change his mind. IMO he would be a great choice.

New Study Says Wind Turbines are Bad For The Health

The many issues re turbines are being white washed, there are problems around the world which are ignored by the likes of our Ontario gov't. People who are normally concerned about the environment and animals are so desperate to believe in these turbines they go into denial about the problems they cause. They also ignore the fact that these turbines cause more damage than they relieve as their infrastructure demand negates anything they produce. In some areas they destroy the environment but not only that, the cost of supplementing these turbines with gas-fired generators is worse. Not to mention it's intermittent and very expensive. What about the acres of cropland they destroy etc. etc. http://london.ctvnews.ca/fire-destroys-top-of-wind-turbine-near-goderich-1.1220567#ixzz2PMKOsAMf http://www.lfpress.com/news/london/2012/01/05/19203361.html http://www.eastcountymagazine.org/node/10463 http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/8807761/wind-farms-vs-wildlife/ -

Did I miss something, do we know now that Mr. Harper knew about this and approved it. The last I heard he was quite clear on the matter: “Mr. Wright decided to use his own personal money to assist Mr. Duffy to reimburse the taxpayers of Canada. That’s what he decided to do, and he decided not to tell me until the 15th of May, after speculation about the source of the funds appeared in the media. As soon as I learned that on the 15th of May, I made that information public. Had I known before the 15th of May, I would have made the information known earlier. And had I known about it before it happened, I would have said not to do it.” -
Presstitutes - just learned a new word today - reporting lies about the staff with anonymous stories. Should they not check the validity of the story before printing allegations and innuendo. http://www.torontosun.com/2013/05/30/rob-ford-staffer-denies-mayor-gave-them-video-location TORONTO - Allegations that Mayor Rob Ford told staff where the alleged video of him smoking crack was located are completely false, the mayor’s new interim press secretary said Thursday. A Toronto Star story published Thursday quoted “senior aides” saying the mayor said “not to worry” about the video and then mentioned an apartment on Dixon Rd. as the potential location. “It was all made up,” said Sunny Petrujkic. “It’s the furthest thing from the truth. It never took place.” Same goes for the allegation staffers were deleting e-mails. “Some of the media are just getting bored now,” he said. “I don’t think we could delete here even if we wanted to.” Two others in the mayor’s office also said both stories were “fiction.”
-
It's hard to believe the veracity of any of the stories these days.. I heard one guy saying on an interview that the 'anonymous source' had an axe to grind... who knew huh.. http://www.newstalk1010.com/News/localnews/blogentry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10551513 Warmington also quotes the mayor's interim press secretary Sunny Petrujkic as flatly denying Thursday's story in the Toronto Star, that the mayor and his senior staff had a meeting the day after this story broke and the Mayor supposedly told them not to worry about the video, that he knew precisely where it was located. This meeting was, according to the Star, not attended by Ford's then chief-of-staff Mark Towhey. Petrujkic says that story "was all made up." In his words, "it's the furthest thing from the truth. It never took place."' The National Post quotes an unnamed senior staffer in the mayor's office as saying that the former chief of staff, Mark Towhey is out to "kill the mayor, politically and otherwise." The Post source says of the supposed meeting where the Mayor said he knew where the video was, "the wildest fabrication I've ever, ever, seen anyone in the media write."

. I did say I would vote for him just to see heads explode. It's moot because I can't vote or him.
-
Which is why the media couches everything in legalize and he alleges etc. etc. Don't include me in 'Ford Nation', I can't vote for him and he would not have been my pick. I just find the media are crossing the line.

My curiosity is peaked, inquiring minds want to know. Okay I looked up the name, he's a known cyber stalker but didn't know he was on here. http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Dennis_Markuze

New Study Says Wind Turbines are Bad For The Health
scribblet replied to scribblet's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Haven't read it yet, here's the link. Thet Liberal gov't cited studies (many fromthe wind industryl) which claimed no adverse health effects from wind turbines. But this report, is a controlled peer reviewed scientific study published in an issue of the periodical Noise and Health actually does link industrial wind turbine noise and vibration to serious health problems. The study — “Effects of industrial wind turbine noise on sleep and health” — assessed two wind farm communities in Maine . http://www.noiseandhealth.org/article.asp?issn=1463-1741;year=2012;volume=14;issue=60;spage=237;epage=243;aulast=Nissenbaum -
The State should have some responsibility to protect the public from further violence. Haven't read the whole thing, but he should not be allowed out on parole on his own, the public has a right to be protected. The medications probably work but who is going to make sure that this guy continues to take medication.

Newspapers seem to be able to say anything they like based on allegations, innuendo and anonymous sources. Surely if you are out to destroy a person's life and career they should have to produce real tangible evidence. I no longer care about Ford, drugs and videos, I'm more concerned about what a big newspaper can do to a person because they are on a personal vendetta or a witch hunt. IMO it's not that the Star cares about good local governance, all they care about is getting Ford out and winning their little vendetta. It's gone beyond reporting news, the media is making it and shaping it. They aren't called the Media Party for nothing.

I've seen those sites.. and many others saying there is a link to health problems. I don't have a link, I heard it on an interview with L. Goldstein. I've actually emailed asking for the report. I did find this but don't know if it's the same one. http://ontariowindresistance.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/literature-review-2013-association-between-wind-turbine-noise-and-human-distress.pdf
