  1. - There isn't anywhere near the corruption there was in the McGuinty Liberal gov't, now that's corruption.
  2. Thanks for the info. she said: That juror said the actions of Zimmerman and Martin both led to the teenager's fatal shooting, but that Zimmerman didn't actually break the law. Juror B29 also told ABC that she didn't believe race was an issue at the trial. Though the judge so far has refused to release the names or biographical information about the jurors, B29 said she was 36 years old and Puerto Rican. I wonder if she was wise allowing her face to be shown. The people Zimmerman rescued in the SUV won't speak or allow their names to be public for fear of violent repercussions. Sad...
  3. I don't believe it is discussed to the extent (if much at all) as it should be. White people can't solve it, the minute they start talking about it, it's racist. I have no doubt there is still racism, but not to the extent the victim industry makes it out to be, we've come a long way baby. It's time for the community itself to stand up and be counted. We need more Bill Cosbys and Jason Rileys.
  4. Commit the crime, do the time. If they are dead the odds are they were killed by another black person. Read about Chicago lately, what about the stats for the killings. Are all the 'visible minorities' in jail, innocent ? I have no doubt there is still racism but not the way it used to be, even the U.S. has come a long way. e.g. Pres. Obama, Eric Holder, Clarence Thomas - high positions indeed. It's not all about racism by any means, there other major issues, 72% are single parent families, no wonder they can't get out of poverty. Even if the father isn't in jail or dead they generally are not around, especially not financially. It's time these leaders spoke about these issues instead of race baiting. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/jul/11/george-zimmerman-trial-black-crime Startling statistics reveal that between 1980-2008, African-Americans were six times more likely than whites to be victims of gun violence and seven times more likely to kill with guns than whites, according to the Justice Department. African-Americans represent a mere 13% of the US population yet more than 50% of federal prisoners are black. You can claim racial bias in the judicial system, but that doesn't explain all of it. Why aren't so-called black leaders outraged and marching over the recent shooting rampage in Chicago. During the 4 July holiday weekend, including the Wednesday leading up to it, 62 people were wounded by gun violence in Chicago and 12 others killed. The holiday shooting spree raised Chicago's homicide tally to 200 for the year. Last year about 500 people were killed, and most of those killing and being killed in Chicago are black. According to the Chicago Tribune, "blacks make up about 33% of the city's population, they accounted for nearly 78% of the homicide victims through the first six months of 2012"
  5. I wouldn't say Coyne is 'upset', he's just reporting what he believes is missing from the MSM. http://www.workopolis.com/content/advice/article/canadian-paycheques-on-the-rise-heres-what-were-earning-at-the-start-of-2013/ Canadian paycheques on the rise: Here’s what we’re earning at the start of 2013Peter Harris| Feb 26, 2013 01:56 pmStatistics Canada has just released their report on payroll and earnings for December 2012. It turns out that year over year, the average Canadian salary was up by 2.8% to roughly $47,200 or just over $900 a week. When this report came out last year, we were bringing home $883 a week, or $46,000 a year. Salaries by industry Five key industries stood out by showing year-over-year salary gains that are greater than the national average. Professional, scientific and technical services; health care and social assistance; and manufacturing all saw the biggest pay increases in 2012. Average earnings in professional, scientific and technical services increased 5.9% to $1,263 a week in 2012 or roughly $65,675 a year. The largest growth was seen in advertising, public relations, and related services; computer systems design and related services; and legal services. Salaries in health care and social assistance were up by 5.1% to $835 a week or an average of $43,420 a year. The most significant growth occurred in hospitals and in nursing and residential care facilities. In manufacturing, weekly earnings rose 4.8% to $1,040, or just over $54,000 a year. cont..
  6. In Ontario property taxes will go up 10% a year because of MPAC. The big problem is too much debt, people are buying homes with mortgages they will not be able to manage when the rates go up. Ontario hydro rate increases have been massive thanks to Mr. McGuinty.
  7. Actually, they weren't going to charge him at all because of the defence laws, it was mob rule and pressure that caused them to bring about charges. However, had Cory not (allegedly) withheld evidence and falsified the arrest warrant there might not have been a trial under Florida laws. Alan Dershowitz says she should be prosecuted.
  8. Oh my, can we post something from Fox on here cos it just can't be true you know. It took a lot of guts to say those things because they are issues that are always pounced on as 'racist', no one wants to address them. He is right about the 72% rate of single mothers, surely this is a good part of the poverty cycle. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/39993685/ns/health-womens_health/t/blacks-struggle-percent-unwed-mothers-rate/ Here's another article from Wall Street Journal and a black writer, worth a read. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323394504578608182550247030.html George Zimmerman's acquittal of murder charges in a Florida court has been followed by predictable calls for America to have a "national conversation" about this or that aspect of the case. President Obama wants to talk about gun control. Civil-rights leaders want to talk about racial profiling. Others want to discuss how the American criminal justice system supposedly targets black men. All of which is fine. Just don't expect these conversations to be especially illuminating or honest. Liberals in general, and the black left in particular, like the idea of talking about racial problems, but in practice they typically ignore the most relevant aspects of any such discussion. cont...
  9. http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/07/24/trudeaus-liberals-finally-come-back-to-earth-as-poll-has-tories-on-track-to-win-slim-minority/ Still a long way to go and anything can happen.
  10. Why were these turbines ordered removed but are still there and how many others are there because regulations were ignored or overlooked. http://windsor.ctvnews.ca/questions-surround-wind-turbine-removal-near-chatham-airport-1.1329519
  11. I just heard about the cost of recovering those deleted emails and how Gwynne is or was involved. How anyone could vote Liberal is beyond me.
  12. I don't see anyone getting hot and bothered but he's right. I heard it on the Sunnews so looked it up, didn't find it in the Star or other major papers.
  13. I'm not clear on that. Can Zimmerman be re charged for the same crime, what about the double jeopardy clause in the 5th amendment ?
  14. I'm happy for them, it's a joyous time, they will have to work on a spare next year. I agree it is media overkill.
  15. If I didn't have satellite I wouldn't have HBO or the movie channels, my faves. I still don't agree with the charges for stations I never watch, maybe those who choose to watch them should pay ?
  16. He didn't 'stalk' him, another myth. Some more info here if you want to listen. This is interesting in light of the reports about burglaries in the area but the judge rules that this et al were not relevant. I have read that Trayvon had been suspended for assaulting a teacher at his high school but,the teacher was pressured into staying quiet. I had also read about the pot in the bag from other sources but they didn't mention the jewellery etc. Agree the pot is irrelevant but the jewellery etc. ? http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/26/2714778/thousands-expected-at-trayvon.html Instead the officer reported he found women’s jewelry and a screwdriver that he described as a “burglary tool,” according to a Miami-Dade Schools Police report obtained by The Miami Herald. Word of the incident came as the family’s lawyer acknowledged that the boy was suspended in February for getting caught with an empty bag with traces of marijuana, which he called “irrelevant” and an attempt to demonize a victim. Trayvon’s backpack contained 12 pieces of jewelry, in addition to a watch and a large flathead screwdriver, according to the report, which described silver wedding bands and earrings with diamonds. Trayvon was asked if the jewelry belonged to his family or a girlfriend. Read more here: http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/26/2714778/thousands-expected-at-trayvon.html#storylink=cpy http://touch.orlandosentinel.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-76753200/ This guy nails it as he tells the truth about Trayvon Martin and what he calls the ‘wretched lynching’ of George Zimmerman. http://www.realitybatslast.com/2013/07/21/trayvon-and-the-big-lie/
  17. The prosecutor Corey should be disbarred http://news.yahoo.com/zimmermans-lawyer-calls-prosecutors-disgrace-profession-025529776.html?NewsWatchCanada.ca
  18. IMO fraudulent and one sided reporting has contributed greatly to what is now misinformation of mythological proportions. I hope Zimmerman wins his law suit, but as you say, if life is done now, he will need the money. If the prosecution hadn't deliberately withheld evidence they wouldn't have got the warrant either. The prosecution also withheld evidence from the defence. I've heard people elsewhere now saying they believe the prosecution was so racist they really 'threw' the case. Next thing it will be St. Trayvon.
  19. I noticed for the first time an amount on my satellite TV bill for the local programming improvement fund. Don't know why I've never noticed it before but it must have been there for a while. I checked on the CRTC site and it seems we have been paying a sur charge to support local TV programming. I have to say that I don't agree with customers having to pay to support small markets which we never watch or need. Surely those who want them should subscribe and pay ? What is the LPIF?In 2008, during the recession, conventional television stations1 operating in non-metropolitan markets went through a difficult financial period. The CRTC created the LPIF to support local programming by these stations. In 2010, 78 stations received funding totaling $100 million. In 2011, 80 stations received $106 million in funding.
  20. This is nothing but repetition and going round in circles. There was no evidence of racism, the jury weighed the evidence and found it wanting. Emotion seems to be overriding judgement and facts here.
  21. Sounds like unreasoning get Harper no matter what. Ontario and Quebec will never go for disbanding the Senate, unless they are on board it won't happen.
  22. That's the way I see it. Prove that they are rigging the system and unjustly cutting people off deliberately, then there could be a case. Emotion and sympathy for claimants got in the way of doing the job.
  23. It really does point to the biased one sided reporting by the media. I hope Zimmerman gets a big payout from NBC for their editing of that tape.
  24. I don't think the President should participate in race baiting and should've upheld the judicial system.
