  1. Booze is too cheap - that`s a new one, never heard that before. I guess this is the same poster who doesn`t mind paying a lot more in taxes to pay for Toronto`s transportation.
  2. Exactly. I wouldn`t have a problem with a one time donation of maybe $50.00 on my taxes to help chip in as public transportation is important. Also this would provide a lot of jobs, however, the amount being proposed is unacceptable. No doubt the poster who thinks it good will be more than willing to pony up another 5 cents a litre for gas, or another 1% for the HST - must be nice to be able to afford that and not care about it.
  3. Inserting a line into my statement is dishonest and unethical.. I never said that second line.
  4. This is a new peer reviewed study, but no one has suggested that turbines be anned. While we are at then, let's ban x-rays, smoke, air water and food.. People want longer set backs, to a minimum of 1.4 kms. Today in Ontario it`s only 550 metres. Wait until they want to put some close to your house and see how you feel. Seems to me the same people who whine about pollution don`t care about adverse health affects when it comes to projects they like and agree with.
  5. How about a lynch mob mentality where innuendo and smears don’t hide the fact that he was elected by a majority. Hounding, shaming and smearing by a group which has been out to get him from day one, is not morally acceptable. This is a witch hunt and IMO is far below the acceptable standards of journalism. The Star obviously has a following of redneck readers now turned into a lynch mob. In the final analysis, the media has done more harm to Toronto and is crying ‘Ford’ once too often. We know innocent until proven guilty mean nothing to a lynch mob, but it should mean something to others.
  6. I heard this today on interview with Lorrie Goldstein but so far haven't found a link to it. They said this new study which is peer reviewed, confirms that there are health problems associated with living close to these turbines. The report talks about the set back being at 1.4 kms. while Ontario set back is only 550 metres. They also mentioned the Green Energy Act and how it took away the rights of municipalities. I'm going to keep looking for the report but if anyone can find it and post it, would appreciate it.
  7. It does but he said today on an interview it only took an hour and was only done to make a point. He would need more and better footage for a start, but I think he's made his point.
  8. Ah well, never mind, maybe the media will start to look into what this Liberal Senator is doing. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2013/05/28/merchant-senate-vern-white.html
  9. Which is why they hide behind legalize - you know alleged and all... I hear The Star has just reported that new evidence has been discovered showing that Mayor Ford, not Hitler, was responsible for the Holocaust. (alleged and unnamed sources of course)
  10. I hear the media party, is now the maggot party.

Hitler was spotted in a video with Rob Ford.... it has severely tarnished Hitler's image.

  12. Love those new 'revenue tools', what a cool way to say New Taxes I really don't see why all of Ontario should pay for Toronto's transportation. Sure the province has to help out, but that's an awful lot to stick to all of us. Toronto's property taxes are lower than the rest of Ontario, maybe it's time to bring them in line with the rest of us. How about a referendum on this...
  13. This is unacceptable, new 'revenue tools' my foot. Sock it to me, Sock it to me ,Sock it to me,
  14. Clearly They just found a body in garbage bag somewhere, wonder if it's the drug dealers.. not funny but if he shows up dead, what next. Personally I find this whole media bloodhound pack mentality has jumped the shark. Not one shred of hard evidence and quite likely the media has ruined at least two careers.
  15. Here go. If this drug dealer shows up dead, we know who is going to be blamed. Evidence be damned..
  16. Clearly you are doing the spinning. There's no mistaking or taking out of context what he said, it's there in B/W. Nice try though, keep on spinning.
  17. What I said too. What was he supposed to do, leave all the positions open for the next gov't to fill... I think not.
  18. Your quote is from February, this one is from this week: http://www.torontosun.com/2013/05/26/justin-trudeau-wont-abolish-senate-as-it-benefits-quebec Trudeau said clearly: "We have 24 senators from Quebec and there are just six from Alberta and British Columbia. It's to our advantage," he told a French newspaper. "To want to abolish it is demagoguery," he said in a rebuke of NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair's campaign to mothball the place. "We'll have to improve it." Clearly he wants to keep the status quo as it's to Quebec's advantage. This is why Mr. Harper has gone to the S.C. for a ruling before putting forward further legislation, clearly Quebec will not sign on to anything that doesn't give them an advantage.
  19. Yeah... their personal vendetta against Ford takes away any credibility they had... There`s journalism, then there`s the Star `journalism`...
  20. I wouldn`t be surprised if he does make it to PM... there are enough `low information voters`who would vote for a pretty face and hair rather than policy. Not sure if he would make it in 2015 but IMO he will in 2019.
  21. Sure he has... he introduced legislation in 2006 but that died because the Liberal dominated Senate demanded longer term lengths, along with constitutional change. (which requires provincial consent). In 2009, he appointed Senators which shifted the balance of Senate power, so after the the 2011 election the conservatives reintroduced introduced their bill, the Senate Reform Act -- but that has yet to pass second reading. So.... the gov't asked the S.C. about the issues on onstitutional requirements for five possible options for Senate reform: Fixed-term Senate appointments Repealing the property qualifications required to become a senator A system in which the federal government consults the provinces, but still appoints senators at a national level A system in which the provinces choose their own senators Abolishing the Senate altogether I know triple E was never a Liberal platform, but JT doesn`t want change because of what it would do to Quebec. Poor Quebec... everything has to be in their favour doesn`t it. A SCOC decision is expected in November.
  22. Well, here you have it, the status quo for Trudeau, with 'improvements' wonder what kind of 'improvements'. I guess as long as they don't affect Quebec... hmmmm Guess he doesn't go for Equal and Elected... http://www.torontosun.com/2013/05/26/justin-trudeau-wont-abolish-senate-as-it-benefits-quebec
  23. What - 10 anonymous drug dealers/users from 30 years ago - really, are there no journalistic standards left anywhere. Why did they sit on this, where they waiting for their best bang for the buck. Ford has allready denied it on a radio show today. He can't sue because he would be financially ruined if he tried to go up against the Thomson family millions. These lawsuits drag on for years and the lawyers have to be paid. This is nothing but a circus now with tabloid style yellow journalism running rampant. The CBC also runs with the story opening up saying they can’t collaborate the claims of the G & M article. Are there any journalistic standards left in Canada.
  24. That's what I thought, we don't know he said that !
  25. You are right, it is happening; the link I posted about Holland addresses that and I have heard the same from relatives in the U.K. IMO there is a lot of denial and a large amount of whitewashing from those who don’t have to live with it. I understand the wish to not stereotype or broad brush a whole community, and the wish to not upset a particular group, but there are major problems in Europe which a lot of people like to deny. We all know that the majority muslims are not doing this, but there are a large enough group of radical Islamists who should not be ignored. As Stockholm Riots Move Into Fifth Day, Press's Aversion to the M-Word ('Muslim') to Describe Those Involved Is Nearly Unanimous http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2013/05/24/stockholm-riots-move-fifth-day-presss-aversion-m-word-muslim-describe-th#ixzz2UJGv9KJg http://www.aina.org/news/20130521123910.htm http://sig.ville.gouv.fr/Atlas/ZUS/ Those places in France that the French state does not control Update in French http://www.leparisien.fr/faits-divers/securite-la-liste-des-villes-que-l-etat-veut-securiser-04-08-2012-2113408.php http://europenews.dk/en/node/46545 http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2011/february/europes-multiculturalism-leading-to-civil-war-/ 'No Go' Zones for Natives In cities across Europe, only a massive police presence prevents open street warfare between groups.
