  1. I'll look for it. I'm about 3 episodes into season 1 right now.
  2. I've never had a problem with Air Canada. So far I have found my experience on AC and WestJet flights to be indistinguishable. The only really crappy airline I've ever flown was Spirit out of the US. Still, I didn't mind, the airline was open about the bare bones quality of their flights. They certainly have absolutely no frills, comforts or conveniences but they got me to Vegas at a ridiculously low price.
  3. US net jobs over 1 year. Full Time: 1,835,000 Part Time: 8,000 - Didn't the GOP tell us that Obamacare would replace full time jobs with part time? http://goo.gl/zx2q6e

ROTFLMAO. You think there were only 8000 part time jobs created in the whole year in the whole country? /facepalm

  4. I hope Bobby Lu's role on the Olympic team is limited to opening doors and keeping the very end of the bench warm. I'd hate to see Kessel, wearing a USA jersey, beat him with a wide snap shot like he did last night.
  5. Here is a complete list of US vs Canadian content. http://netflixcanadavsusa.blogspot.com/
  6. If you believe natural factors are driving the increased heat content then why is it that the troposphere (lowest level of atmosphere) is warming but the levels above (Stratosphere and above) are cooling?
  7. I'm curious about how you managed to arrive at the conclusion that warming has ceased since the late 90's. Are you ignoring ocean heat content despite the fact that they are the largest thermal mass on the planet?
  8. This ad by the Canadian Institute of Diversity and Inclusion is outstanding! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=effb2JYiKXM
  9. I like that Google chose a pro-gay doodle today. "The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play." –Olympic Charter
  10. Agreed. People have also been warned not to use the water on their faces because it contains something that burns a little. Some nations temporarily weld the man hole covers shut for security reasons. In Sochi a large number of them are completely missing leaving deep unprotected holes in the middle of streets. Big Bad Vlad has paid billions to showcase a national embarrassment.
  11. I agree with Boges. It would be very easy to simply steal all the media I wish to consume, but I would rather support the people and systems that produce the music, tv, movies and games I enjoy. In my case I still purchase content, I just bypass regional restrictions.
  12. As fans of the Oilers we've been given a small taste of what it's like to be part of Leafs Nation. We know your pain...minus the 5 cups and 6 finals appearances in our lifetime of course.
  13. I use a VPN to get around local blackouts. As an additional tip if you use a VPN or proxy to spoof a US IP you can purchase NHL content at US prices, which is significantly better than the Canadian price.
  14. I am an Oilers fan living in Ontario so I don't have an issue that way. I also use a VPN service so I can instantly adjust my locale to watch Toronto/Ottawa/Buffalo games.
  15. Ryan Miller will be available, but he will be pricey. Scrivens has been great so far, but we'll see if it lasts after the grind of starting sets in. He may be a starter soon, but it's hard to know for sure. Considering he makes the minimum we should be able to sign him for a very reasonable price. As for the D, it's slowly going in the right direction. Ference was a good addition and I like the Schultzes but we need another piece or two. Studs like Weber, Letang, etc are expensive and hard to come by, but the Pens have a some great D-men set to be free agents. Orpik and Niskanen are UFAs at the end of the year and Paul Martin will be one after next season. All 3 would be great additions.
  16. I am a recent cord cutter and am loving it so far. Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Ted, NHL Game Center, network websites, etc. are not just a replacement for my old cable package, they surpass it in both content, price and convenience. The downside is now that viewing is more civilized, I have started to spend more time watching TV.
  17. I use TekSavvy in Ontario. They offer both DSL and Cable options and their prices are great. As mentioned above every cable plan has a 300gb or unlimited option and most DSL plans offer 75/300/unlimited options. My area only offered basic DSL service so I went with a 25gbps plan with a 300gb cap for $42. I haven't cracked the cap yet, but if we end up surpassing that regularly as my kids get older I can make the same plan unlimited for $60. Funny that despite having to pay Rogers a fee to use the cable infrastructure TekSavvy can offer better prices. In my area Rogers charges $55 for a 25gbps plan with just an 80gig cap.
  18. The Vatican deserves criticism for the way it has handled sex offenders and so do the countries you mentioned. I'm surprised but happy that the UN was so critical in their report. However, condemning their criticism is the wrong approach. We should be encouraging to chastise more members, more often.
  19. Hopefully religious opinion will never be illegal, but I pray for the day that it will be as relevant as witchcraft is currently.
  20. I'm going vegetarian. Which could be tough because I really, really like meat. mmmmm steak....drool.

lol. I have friend that became a vegan 5 or 6 years ago. For my own fun I used to leave packages of that Ready Crisp bacon in her pantry when we would visit. Now that I think about it, I may not be a very good friend.

I could probably do it. I like meat but I love carbs much more. If i had to give up carbs and sugar I'd probably die from a self-inflicted shotgun wound.

I prefer fat and salt to carbs and sugar. My actual switch starts Saturday when I do my main grocery pick up for the week. I'm willing to bet there will be an amazing sale on T-Bones just to spite me.

  21. Clarkson had a goal and 7 hits in his return, but they lost. They have a much better record with him out of the lineup, so Carlisle may be hoping for another suspension. Even though they overpaid for DC, I think he will shine under playoff rules.
  22. Here is another ugly Salvation Army story and it is set in Australia again. http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/28/world/asia/australia-salvation-army-abuse-hearing/
  23. Yeah...poor guy. What did he ever do to deserve this kind of treatment?
  24. I'm going to start watching a new (to me) series and have heard good things about both Weeds and House of Cards. Any thoughts on either show?
  25. The people of Connecticut can feel secure knowing that the weapons of war used at Newtown will stay illegal and that there is no Constitutional right to an AK-47, an AR-15, or a 30-round ammunition magazine. At least for now…
