  1. 1. No, I don't share your opinion that he supports lawlessness. 2. The fact that the President promoted lawlessness is where we differ. 3. You don't accept the concept of subjectivity and so trying to discuss politics or really anything is like talking about sunsets with a colour blind person.
  2. 1. Absolutely. 2. I know you didn't say it, I'm drawing a conclusion from the principles, and facts as you see them. The conclusion is mine alone.
  3. 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems_thinking 2. Any leader that supports lawlessness is a traitor. So from your POV, Biden is a criminal and you should work to have him arrested. None of my explanations of systems thinking apply in this case. Yes, and the detailed discussion would cover the "how".
  4. Nothing justifies it. Systems thinking aims to reduce it on a wholesale level. So, that's just how it works
  5. I analyze facts with my brain. It's tempting to look at sad stories, but The paradox is we actually have to ignore sad stories, and our emotions as a general approach and adopt a system thinking approach. This is not a thing that the bleeding heart liberals have ever been in favor of either by the way Back when I was debating the free trade agreement in the 1980s, people would actually make the case that there should not be a single layoff... No single person should see hardship as a result of trade agreements. Even if you're lowering groceries for tens of millions of Canadians, the argument went, you shouldn't lay off one single dairy Farmer. Although it's a heartless calculus, The smarter way to approach it is systems thinking
  6. Possibly, yes, but I'm always suspicious of anecdotal analysis. We should always look at trusted summary numbers.
  7. I am so sorry. I know African-Americans such as yourself are routinely treated poorly by police. Good thoughts, my friend.
  8. https://www.propublica.org/article/immigration-dhs-american-citizens-arrested-detained-against-will Based on this reporting, 40 cases where they weren't involved in protests.
  9. If we're citing individual cases as a basis for criticizing policy, there are reports of American citizens being picked up by ICE.
  10. You don't even want to raise a glass to the person who found a basic error with what you did? It's downright unsportsmanlike.
  11. I've seen people objecting to having a tracking number, I guess not aware of what SIN is.
  12. When the loudest counter argument - that we can't afford the cost of mitigation - is false, the situation calls our whole political sphere into question.
  13. Back in the day, I conceded that risk acceptance was a legitimate response to climate change. I also pointed out that that meant it would be incumbent on those causing the most harm to remediate, if in fact the temperatures increased and impacted normal life. By those I mean countries and companies.. Conservatives always felt that environmental damage should be given to those accountable. But the fake conservatives want to to take the risk and do nothing with the consequences.
  14. Doesn't look that bad to me... Nice of him to salute the Japanese flag. Say what you like, when negotiations are done he lets bygones be bygones
  15. And yet... We get along. 🤣
  16. Indeed, when the Democrats are back and they make the president even more powerful... The sky is falling people will then have different coloured hats
  17. Sure thing. Our system, such as it is, creates historical awards beating the competition. But it's not just about technology, it's also about navigating legal and marketing landscapes. His software, and his company, barely escapes the gravity of mediocrity but whatever he's number one.... He's older, so he grew up in a time when noblesse oblige, look it up if you don't know it, was a thing. So he has this strange idea that you have to give back. As for the conspiracy set, when you realize that every action movie that came out of Hollywood for 50 years had high-level conspiracy as a theme... It's not hard to see why people think that it's real. I work in the domain of these large organizations, So I understand that it's not. Furthermore, as Chomsky says, the bad deeds that elites are done in the wide open and nobody cares.. no conspiracy necessary.
  18. I think maybe this person's experiences reflect never having encountered anyone who works at the higher levels of the political economic pyramid. I was in a band with a guy who spoke to Gates. He said" good morning Mr. Gates. I will put your call through now". That counts. It means that Gates is not a robot or hologram. He was doing some work with my friend's company. He's a real person with goals. I don't see why conspiracies would even be necessary, with the people who are running things today. They're openly corrupt, and no one cares.
  19. Yeah, I don't get it either
  20. I don't think I'm going to do that. I think you've had some good posts in the past, but I'm not your wind-up toy. I don't appreciate it. You're on ignore now. Sorry to ruin your day.
  21. Are you trying to characterize my position? If so, getting it wrong on purpose... Guess you're doing it because you're bored.
  22. What about it? Trans people in sports? I'm not upset about it, but I'm not as bored as a lot of people. People should be able to express themselves, listen to others and come up with an answer that's workable. Before Chad world, this was not such a problem.
  23. What? I don't understand the need to ascribe an evil motive to something like this. Furthermore, I don't see what he's done to change his mind. He's trying to caution against alarmism which is a good thing. It's weird to me that you read the whole thing and say.. haha Gates has changed his mind. He's with Trump now, or has been influenced by Trump or something. Then you say... Why is this.... It must be because it's costing him money! I don't understand it I came here to read this because somebody in another thread said that Gates is ditching the green initiative. It says clearly in here that he's still funding things, although from his words it seems like he's going for long-term benefits.
  24. It's Bush_Cheney ! You made a mistake when you lumped illegal immigrants in, admit that.
  25. Thanks. @gatomontes99 your assertion about immigrants, generally categorized, in the OP is dispelled.
