  1. Thanks for voting in the recent forum poll! I'll be posting another forum questions shortly...

  2. Ok, looks like we have a tie - so I'm going to break the tie with my vote - I'm for having chat functionality. I will look into the logistics and cost of adding it back into the forums. Thanks for participating everyone! I'll be posting another questions (relating to the forum functionality) shortly!
  3. I've moved post editing from 30 min to 24 hours - that should be more than enough time to correct any errors. However, that's a different topic, lets keep this thread on the topic of chat functionality.
  4. Chat has been removed due to Invision Power Board not supporting the functionality anymore. I have looked into different options (mostly paid options), and I'd like to know if everyone wants chat functionality implemented again. Note: the third-party chat plugins I've been looking at have a great deal more bells and whistles, so if you didn't like the original chat feature because it was barebones, any new chatroom would be considerably more feature-rich.
  5. Unfortunately Invision Power Board has pulled support for their chat function. The latest upgraded completely removed this function, hence why it is no longer available. I have looked into different options (third party plugins), but I want to know everyone's feelings on whether it's a feature you want to see again. I'm going to create a support thread about this issue, please post your options on whether you want me to add this feature again. Thanks!
  6. I've increased the amount of time between when a member posts and when they can edit that post to 24 hours. It was previously set to 90min, and I don't believe that was enough time. I will also be activating a feature that will force members to acknowledge a warning before they can post again. I'm doing this to ensure that member understand the reasoning behind some moderation actions. If you have any issues or questions, post them in the support section. Thanks!
  7. Can you show me a screenshot? Did you try to restart your browser?
  8. I'll look into this issue. can you give me an example?
  9. Ah ok, now I understand what you mean - the font page. Yes, MLW used to published regularly (I was the project director); we focused primarily on political education, but the funding ran out after a decade. Cheers!
  10. What do you mean, "flash page"? As I mentioned earlier, I'm only testing the ad locations right now and in the future I am offer the ability for members to read the forums ad free.
  11. I didn't say pay to post. Read my post again.
  12. I will be making a few changes to the look and feel of the forums over the next few days. Functionally, nothing will change; everything that exists now will continue, but I do plan on changing the underlying theme slightly. If you encounter an error or have a question, post a note in the support forums. Thanks!
  13. Don't freak out, I'm only testing ad placements in the forums. Ads used to be part of the forums (before the recent upgrade) and they will likely be a part of the forums going forward. I may also introduce a paid membership level, which would remove the ads and provide some additional features. However, that isn't going to happen in the short term. Thanks!
  14. The reputation system has been updated: see my latest post.

  15. I've updated the reputation system to only allow "Likes". Any "Like" you provide will be associated with your account - similar to the way it's done on Facebook. If you have any issues, post them in the support section. Thanks
  16. This isn't a support topic, so I've closed this thread. I have updated the reputation system, to only allow "Likes" - and the like will be associated with your account. We will see if that improves the situation at all.
  17. It's certainly possible for me to archive (which means they can be viewed, but not posted in) older forum threads. I just never saw this as a priority in the past. What does everything think?
  18. Great, I'm glad I could help!
  19. Follow the instructions on this page: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Firefox-Display-and-Appearance/Password-Manager-Remember-delete-change-and-import-saved/td-p/2254 Specifically, the section title: "Viewing and deleting passwords"
  20. It's not bogus, we do have that many members - it's just unfortunately most of those members are banned do to spamming. I may clean the membership tables out pretty soon, which should bring this number down considerably.
  21. Can you be more specific - how slow in seconds? And when are you experiencing these slowdowns?
  22. Because they are a moderation feature of the forum software. Every time anyone is issued a warning, their warning point goes up one (or more). However, the only people that can see the points are the mods and the actual member - this isn't a public number. There are additional features I could activate relating to the warning points, but for a number of reasons haven't. For example, i've been wanting to activate the warning point expiry feature - which would allow those points to expire after a certain period of time. We can also activate a feature that would automatically suspend anyone that hit a specific warning level - however, I don't like that feature very much, so I decided to leave it off.
  23. Yes, ,but Bubber is right, some of those Guests would be bots and spiders.
  24. I agree with @eyeball, it's likely a browser issue. What browser are you using? i can help point you in the right direction on resetting your browser settings.
  25. Why would that scare you?
