If you encounter a problem/failure, I need actual error reports, give me the error number - 503, 408, 404, etc. Browser, OS, etc are of secondary importance to me, but it never hurts to include those details. Thanks!
  2. I can look into implementing this feature in the future (there is probably a mod that I can use to force this feature). At first I didn't realize what you were describing, but I think I do now. Just to be clear, in the original forum format, you were able to post a reply to a status update directly from the status widget; rather than having to go to a separate page (in this case, the individuals profile page) to post a reply. Is that correct? I believe the reason this feature was removed by the developers is to encourage people to visit each other's profile - which in this new version are drastically improved.
  3. I just want to remind everyone, nothing is set in stone. The theme everyone is seeing is the default theme for the forum software. I can assure you, the look will evolve with time. I do plan on making small changes in the short term, and more substantive changes once all the kinks are ironed out and I have more time to dedicate to customizing the look and feel. Thanks

ok, I'll check the server logs and see what I can find.

That seems odd, there were a lot of background task running the past 24 hours (rebuilding search index, etc), but I just checked and everything is finished. If anyone else is seeing these errors?
  6. The forum has been successfully upgraded! I am going to close this thread, if you have any issues or questions (or encounter any errors), please post in the Support and Questions forum.
  7. The forum will be shut down at 11:45 to make the upgrades. I will update this thread when we're back online.
  8. Hello all, Thanks for you patience the past few weeks, we'll be making a critical DB conversion tomorrow (Thursday) and then hopefully we'll be upgrading to latest forum version on Friday. I will have to shut the forum down temporarily while the DB is being converted and again when the forum is upgraded. I will update this thread with the specific times as soon as they're scheduled. If you see any errors or issues after the conversion/upgrade, please update this thread. Thanks for your cooperation!
  9. Good to hear!
  10. Are you visiting the mobile version or the desktop version on your phone?
  11. Did you try to upload a new profile photo?
  12. Ha, ya, i noticed that shortly after I told you the should solve the problem - sorry about that! It'll get fixed. However, in the mean time, can you try something for me - can you try to upload a new profile photo and see if that corrects the issue? It seems to be only affecting certain posters...
  13. Yes, this is a result from the most recent upgrade. However, I'm going to wait till after the migration and the upgrade to the latest version before investing too much time into this issue. Thanks for pointing this issue out!
  14. Yup, I noticed the issues too. To be honest, the best thing to do is change the theme (lower left-hand side) back to IP.Board (from Maple Leaf Web V3). Once the site is migrated, and the forum software is upgraded, the theme will revert to the default IP.Board theme - at least until I find the time create a new custom theme. Thanks!
  15. OK, I'll look into it AFTER we migrate to the new server and after we upgrade the forum software. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
  16. Sorry for the short notice, but the forum will be down for a short time this afternoon. Thanks,
  17. Can you give me an example Argus?
  18. I'll have to take your word for it, as I've not used the search functionality much lately. However, I've heard good things about Google Custom Search, and that would effectively remove all restrictions on search.
  19. Yes, I've updated the thread title.
  20. Just a quick note, the forum will be offline for a few minutes tonight, as I do a incremental upgrade. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes. Thanks
  21. Yes, it should. However, having 1.1M postings make it difficult to search effectively. So after the upgrade, i will be investigating other alternatives (perhaps Google Custom Search). Thanks!
  22. I can't think of any reason it would affect traffic. The new server will be more powerful, meaning the website will load quicker and be more responsive. In terms of the forum upgrade, we're not changing what type of forum MLW operates on, just upgrading the underlying code. So you can expect improvements to performance and access to additional features.
  23. We are doing some maintenance to the server that MLW resides on over the next few weeks, and along with that will come a major upgrade to the actual forum software. When this occurs, there may be some downtime - meaning the forums will be unavailable for a short period. I will give everyone a heads up days before this happens, so everyone will be aware. Also, seeing that this is a major upgrade, we'll likely have to switch the forum "skin" to its default look. Meaning, the look of the forums will change slightly. This is required because the upgrade will likely break our existing "skin" and could possibly make the forum unusable. This default skin will be used until a new skin is created - I don't have a timeline on when that will happen. Any questions or comments, feel free to post below or in the support forum.
  24. As does this one: http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/forum-3/announcement-11-new-members-please-read/ New members must post ONE reply in an existing thread before posting a new topic. I'm open to raising this limit, but I hesitant because I don't want to discourage participation too much.
