Taxes need to be looked at, there is no doubt of that. On the other hand is the real issue, which is government spending. There is nobody proposing to do anything about it. These folks want to spend money to buy votes, that is how things are done.

Harper will hang onto his minority government and still lose his job. So will Iggy, but not Jack or Liz.

Anarchy has a time and a place. Right now that is the middle east, but wait your turn because it will come. Patience little politicians, there is a movement afoot.

Liberals already giving up in Alberta

Even so it speaks volumes about the internal machinations of the party itself. Bad business in my books. -

Rather strong allegations dude, are you serious? -
The plane was designed as an interceptor. As such it was a design success. Given that reality, I actually believe that had Avro decided to build a fighter it would have been rejected by the RCAF as not functional as an interceptor. The point is that the Arrow is a 50 year old design being compared to modern day aircraft, and that is folly. The truth is the plane and the program were in fact a success and that politics sunk the boat. We are now reaping what we have sown and are buying aircraft with tax dollars from foreign suppliers to the nations detriment. Its not wether or not we can build a plane, we do that daily. Its about how we go about conducting the nations business.

Chretien wasted $2 Billion and nothing to show for.

The registry was and is a farce. Yet the concept is a valid one. Just goes to show you how even the best idea can go for crap if poorly implemented. -

What is with the hair splitting contest? Weapons of mass destruction are simply that. Biological, chemical, nuclear, you name which one....no real difference because dead as dog shit is, as dead as dog shit period. Not one live lost you understand, but instead hundreds or worst yet, thousands of lives lost with each use of the weapon. That is the functional description of the weapon. It is not just madmen that use such weapons, even sane people use them. That is because the damned things are merely tools for the politicians and assets for the military folks. We have gone so far as to coin a phrase...."Limited warfare". This crap happens because of our chosen path toward an enlightened civilization. We have allowed politicians to have free reign in making decisions for nations. We have provided the military with the tools and systems they desire that are designed to kill. We have done everything but prevent war. -
If you think about it for a minute, the Americans are having issues with the development process these days. Their track record kinda sucks when you get done to the crunch. Look at the F22 program. Its dead is the first clue. It was deemed unfit for all weather flight ops. That program was a very expensive bust. The Americans are all over the F35 like white on rice, the program is under a microscope. If things don't get straightened out right quickly there will be trouble enough for all to see. Our delivery position is way off into the future, so it may become a moot point, but even so the program viability is now in question.

Harper's election to lose? He's trying hard...

Does anybody really know any "fiscal conservative" politicians? -
Opposition want to make election about Harper.
Jerry J. Fortin replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
We do that because we can do nothing else. Without good leadership, and a functional foreign policy we are hooped. We have no viable defense strategy, nor can we really afford one. -
That is not my beef. My complaint is that they vote the way they are told to by the respective party leaders. In so doing they represent their party not their constituents. Their votes are not held against them, so they are in a very real sense of the word accountable to the party and not the people.

Sad but true. Reminds me how much I dislike our system.

Maybe they"ll listen to this guy.

Perhaps part of the problem is in how we treat prisoners. I can see a few drawbacks with the current system, such as letting the bastards back out into society. Aside from that I believe we spend too much to look after these criminals. I suggest that we can do this cheaper and better than we do. -
Liberals considering no-confidence vote

Because they are the ones that are supposed to be fiscal conservatives. In reality they are not. Thats why. -

I am a westerner, and I would prefer to see the government sell the damned thing back to the farmers. Do an asset transfer straight up employees and all. -

The longer we wait, the worse it will get for PM Harper. At this point they already are begging to be taken done a couple notches. The behavior of the party members since forming their first minority government has gone from bad to worse. The public is starting to count the FUBAR moments and they are adding up.
