I agree that Quebec is largely socialist, but that has nothing to do with the rest of Canada. English Canada is culturally much, much closer to the U.S. than it is to Quebec.

The Canada-U.S. border is, for the most part, useless. It doesn't provide either country with greater security, and it's just a hassle for trade. It gives work to bureaucrats and people who couldn't make it as cops though.

In some respects Canada is more free than the U.S. As a born and bred U.S. citizen, I have to file a return with the IRS every year, even though I live and make all my money in Canada. Canada doesn't force its ex-patriot citizens to do the same.

I've lived in both countries about equally (20 years in U.S.; 28 years in Canada). They aren't that much different culturally, and the U.S. is in many ways as "socialist" as Canada. The truth is they are both very similary right-wing democracies. And you haven't a clue what you're talking about.

So to sum up, teleprompters are bad if used a lot. Even though Reagan used them a lot, that's fine because he's Republican. Cards can be used a lot, even though they serve the same purpose, but Obama better not use them, because then that would be the same and he's a Democrat. And, of course, the use of the term "retarded" is only bad when said by a Democrat. Got it.

What is super-funny is that Palin was making fun of Obama using a teleprompter while she had notes scrawled on her hand. I'm not sure what the deal is with the teleprompter anyway. Is it because they resent the fact he can read?

I've seen a native band build a play structure for kids on a reserve beside a regular town. They chase all the non-native kids off it. It's just for them.

Okay, coot, you clearly out-debated these lightweights who could only attempt to change the subject, insult, or misunderstand the meaning of "able-bodied" to come up with a rebuttal, but I think arguing that passive warmongers who avoid service are hypocrites is kind of like shooting fish in a barrel. I take issue with them being called immoral though, because, as you said, war is murder. How could avoiding killing people (even if you support others doing the killing for you) be immoral? Because war is, by definition, killing, then war is by definition immoral itself. Avoiding it may be cowardly (and nothing wrong with that, I say), but ultimately they aren't hurting anybody else in the process. In any case, what's this topic have to do with calling someone a racist? Somebody's trying to change the subject from how this forum is attempting to be a haven for bigots.
