Wow imagine. His staff who sent the invites made a mishape. And so did Dalton McGuinty when he was elected. Nurses are not the problem with out healthcare sysetem. We actually have so many that many nurses are just working in old age homes. That's. Because. There. Are. Too. Many. Nurses. And. Not. Enough. Positions. To. Give. A. Job. To. Everyone. Who. Has. That. Particular. Qualification. Same. Applies. To. Immigrant. Credentials. It's the basic law of supply and demand. Stop dreaming of your idealisms and fantasy's of economy according to 'magrace'. Belinda. Yes. And he should not be controlling our health. We should be. Don't you get the bigger picture of my above sentence? Saturn? Blueblood? Anyone?

I told you what you want left of center policies, yet you prefer the Conservatives and the two don't add up. Your love of blue is based on something other than policy. It's funny that you are about exactly opposite of Harper and you are such a great fan of his. I find blueblood to be extrememly left wing though.

Don't you check these things before you post them? This religious group sounds pretty out there. So. Does that mean they don't have the ability to post factual evidence? I find you guys to more out there then them, but I don't discount your ability to post factual documents. -

I heard that having a womans pretty face in politics takes away from credibility and works against women in politics. That's just what I heard from a pundit on the radio. -
That's a bad thing. But it would take too long to explain why. Please feel free to explain. Because democracy should be about real choice, not just A or B. People don't fit into cookie cutter molds. Limiting a voter's choices seems to go against everything you are saying here. You have to have the pride and respect of the people formost in order for the parliamentary to function. Right now, it's not functioning. You cannot base a strong gov't off a minorty. Politicians being allowed to call elections whenever they want is only there to take advantage of their own office and not represent the will of the people. The almost ensures to keep 1 party in power. The American presidency is the best of course seing as there is an 8 year term limit which limits corruption. I think govern should govern. We decide the laws. We should vote on them yearly. Manditory voting. It's the only way for us to govern ourselves. I don't need Daddy above dictating to me how my takes should be spent or signing me up for Kyoto so billions of my tax dollars can get sent out fo the country for international credits. We need private groups to explain this things to us, not politicians who profess to the CBC what they should re-spin. Why are you so afriad to decide for yourself? Why do you underestimate your fellow citizen to make wise descisions? The whole US does it, "but they are all idiots and we know what we're doing." Well there you go. So you really aren't a Libearl that believes in equality after all. My old co-worker said that the more Libearl you were, the more of a complete hypocrit you were. That's what Liberals are. Are you suggesting that these people in Parliment make wise descisions for the poeple? Lol. We have 300,000 people entering our country lving in piverty for the sake of a Liberal political vote and Canadians dying on healthcare waiting lists. I disagree. The Income trusts is within the role of the gov't to govern. That's why it's not held to a vote. They can govern and write laws up all they want, but they will NOT decide for what is good the peoplep. The people shall do that. That is normal fucntion of any gov't. I WISH we even had CLOSE to that kind of knowledge of gov't projects. WRONG. THEIR JOB IS NOT TO GET ELECTED, IT'S TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE TO OUR BEST INTEREST. YOU'VE BEEN BRAINWASHED FOR TOO LONG. I'm not mad at you because you only know what you've seen growing up and watching the CHC, I'm mad at our politicians for not representing us and govering to their own agenda. I hope something changes one day. Now I have to run out and do some groceries right now... yeah I love doing grcoeries.. I hear every language but English being spoken in the background. All the ethnic costumes while I 'tsk'd and stared at because I'm multi cultural. Oh well, every weekend I go through this.

Wasn't a former federal leader who proposed allowing people to vote on issues called an extremist because of that position. Who was it again? I don't know who your talking about but I feel it has to do with Quebec seperation. The thing is, who called him an extrememest? The answer, who cares. Because the majority to vote trumps what one person or a media ogranization things. Any big business can a campaign to sway either voter to a yes or no side, but if you look at California, the largest campaigns don't sway voters. In California, there is ALWAYS a new idea to tax the people more in order to spend on yadda yadda. This is a monthly occurnace here in Canada. However, over there, they VOTE on this. And I can tell you that ANYTIME there is ANY idea to tax or spend more, it gets voted DOWN by the people.

It's flattering having people not beleive me. Go ahead. You think I'm here to waste my time and everyone elses and pathologically lie? Having a high IQ doesn't garuntee you poeple skills, that you will do well on tests, nor does it effect your spelling and grammar hehe. What it does do though is make me right 99% of the time. -

Sorry I didn't realize I was doing it.

I completely agree. It's frightening to me too. Remember Jean Charest "every young person should be working, in school, or doing community service!". I was a teen at that time. Even that young I was like 'how can he tell us what we should be doing each day. He shouldn't have the right'?
-
He's said MUCH worse than that. Especially in the 70's when he was very anti-French and against 2 languages in Canada. He used to support private healthcare, all the classic reform things. I'm sure he's called the US a 'better' country than ours. I'm almost sure he's said something like that way back. He used to be a political stratagist in a previous life.

The posts existed and then the CBC removed the discussion forum. Somebody obviously copied the site before its removal and that is what MikeDavid linked to above. Not paying attention eh? The real CBC discussion forum is right here http://www.cbc.ca/canadavotes/ridingtalk/2005/11/156.html The comments MD posted earlier do not appear here at all. The site MD posted is a fake site that links to the real one (if you click on links to the discussion for other ridings). I do'nt use smilies but I'm going to go sharpen some tools in the shed now..
-
I suggest you click on the link in the Scriblett quote and read the entire (short) thread. Damn that left-wing media! They destroyed all the evidence. If I were MD I would get the Koran for Christmas and read up on Islam to be ready for when the Muslims take over Canada. All ethnicities here in Canada have a 'take over' joke or tone in them. No one is here to take over Canada. Future seperation is a whole other issue.

Prove it. Why? I've proven each time I'm right. It's very time consuming for me to do this... but here we go: I can't give exact numbers because of the controversy that happened in Ottawa around 15-20 years back. From nowhere it seems, all these Samoli's came in the thousands to Ottawa as refugees. There was more crime and a new 'alien' like culture of people roaming the streets of Ottawa. It seemed to be tens of thousands. Those on this forum from Ottawa will no what I'm talking about. Back then, things weren't as politically correct. A news report put out a study showing that 93% or so of Samolies in Ottawa were on welfare and maybe we needed to do something about this. Then there was issues of welfare fruad, having 6 kids and collecting thousands in payments were happening. A story broke where they aired TV specials in Samolia basically saying that you can claim refugee status and take advantage of our system get paid money to do nothing. There was backlash from Canadians such as yourself who have no pride in Canada and are self-hating. Canadians that don't understand the concept of unity, having our taxes wisely spent, and self hatred. So basically to make a long story short they will no longer give stats on ethnic groups and welfare. You can do a survey for instance, but the gov't will not release these stats. Now this was before the internet so it would be very hard to find this peice of history. Here's the closes I can find from that time: "The Somali population in Canada is estimated at between 60,000 and 70,000 with the largest group -- about 35,000 -- in metropolitan Toronto. ... Somali sources estimate that between 80 to 90 per cent of their community are on welfare." More from that time: "Ontario Opposition Leader and Liberal Party head Lyn McLeod found herself under attack for "racism" when she demanded to know why Ontario NDP leader Bob Rae seemed to be so lax when faced with a confidential federal immigration department report on welfare fraud by Somali "refugee" claimants. Organized criminals are engaged in a 'systematic pillaging' of Ontario's welfare system to fund Somali warlords, provincial Liberals say, citing a confidential federal report. The report said: 'This group is importing refugees to systematically pillage our vulnerable and exposed social welfare system in an attempt to raise funds to support clan interests in the struggle for power in Somalia.' ... A single individual, using multiple names, can easily collect $100,000 yearly and could get up to $300,000, McLeod said. 'The report states that the fraud is over tens of millions of dollars annually. We believe the report is credible,' she said." (Toronto Star, October 28, 1993) The report suggests Canadians "run the risk of having our social net damaged beyond repair. ... " Other things worth noting: "Whenever I read a story of containing references to Somalis, the immediate picture that pops into my mind are 'welfare indolents'. Since the collapse of their country during the '80's, hundreds of thousands of Somalis have spread into western countries including our own generous welfare state. In their own country, there's a Somali practice referred to as 'sahan' or sending scouts in the wilderness to find rain. In the U.S., for example, in place of rain water, these Somali scouts are sent out to find the best state welfare rates" Other notes: "A brother and two sisters of Somali warlord Mohammed Farrah Aidid's chief military adviser have been arrested in a $53,000 welfare fraud. Metro Police said the fraud stretched from Toronto to Alberta and British Columbia. Police said the fraud was committed over a two year period and $26,700 was taken in Toronto alone." From 1992 "Within 5 years, the Somali population in Ontario has increased by 613 percent. There are no 70,000 Somalis living in Canada, 13,00 of whom live in Ottawa...Families on welfare are asked to provide the name of a co-signer who has an income of $50,000 or over. This criteria cannot be met by many Somali single mothers and they have no option but to enter shelters in order to qualify for subsidized housing from the Ottawa-Carleton Regional Housing Authority. This, in turn, has led to an influx of Somalis into certain areas of the city." - (yes, they took all our free, precious, public housing in ottawa and single mother Canadians have a longer waiting list than every). And to close: "One notorious case of refugee/welfare abuse during the early 1990's was that of Khadiga Gurhan, the wife of Somali warlord Mohamed Farah Aideed. Her husband apparently had sufficient funds to conduct a war and support his militants in faraway Somalia, yet not enough money to support his wife and children. So instead he sends his family off to Canada, a country known throughout the world that offers sanctuary to any foreign deadbeat claiming 'refugee' status. To add insult to injury, the tax-supported welfare wife returned to Somalia for a visit with her husband while still receiving her monthly welfare cheque. How many working Canadians supporting their own families can afford to fly anywhere on a 5 month foreign 'holiday'? I believe her comfortable stay on our welfare system lasted for 5 long years until she was finally taken off the easy payment plan. I'd be interested in reading a thorough investigative report by Michele Mandel in just how many 'refugees' are claiming welfare benefits in a 'job shortage' Canada." PS-My best childhood friend growing up was a Samalian. Yes, His father had 2 wives, and uncle and 4 children living in their house all collecting cheques. I can tell you that first hand. Ok guys, now it's time to laugh at me, insult me, stick you head in the sand, cheer on the people who take advantage of us, self-hate our country and own citizens and so forth. -

Well statistically speaking, preople who come from Samolia go on welfare. This is a proveable fact. Now these stats are hidden because of all the uproar in ottawa it caused 15 years back when they started to air commercials in Samolia about how you can come to Canada and get free money for doing nothing. But of course, these two things are.... different. -
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...?hub=TopStories "The American ambassador to Canada says Maher Arar is still considered a threat to the United States. Despite the findings of a Canadian inquiry that concluded Arar was deported to Syria based on erroneous information provided to the U.S. from the RCMP, David Wilkins said the Syrian-born Canadian will remain on a security watch list." The ambassador said the decision to remove Arar from the United States in 2002 was made by American officials based on their own assessment."

Harper runs the country like a king

Yes I do know a bit about Islam (probably more than most here) and have more Islamic friends\co-workers (probably more than most here). The 5 pillars of Islam is 1 - Get 2 - Into 3 - That 4 - Other 5 - Country but seroiusly, that has nothing to do with how a Muslim lives is life. The teachings of the Quaran do. -

Ready for a Spring Election?
mikedavid00 replied to SamStranger's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I agree. At least Martin owns a business and knows how to deal with things fiscally. Dion? He's a prof with idealisms. It's this sort of person that will do all the deep thinking that will get us in deep doo doo. BTW: polls released saying Libs are down 2 points CPC up 2points. -

I agree. The Liberals promise, do nothing, pander, promise, do nothing, pander, call and election, pander, promise, do nothing, prmose, call another elction, pander, do nothing, promise. And so the cycle of life continues. But keep in mind this was Chretien that did this. Thus I'm concerned that Dion will be a 'do something' gov't that could ruin us. Our gov't has dictator powers that have the potential to ruin the country: ie: Mulrouny. -
