Poor-Bashing is Never the Answer
mikedavid00 replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Residents only. You wouldn't get OAS if you were out of the country for a year (or less if they catch you). Of course you are supposed to let the authorities know if you are leaving the country even for a few months (such as spending the winter in Florida) but nobody ever does that. So basically yes they do get it. -
Racial Treatment of Natives in Canada
mikedavid00 replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Tell that to the French. I agree with that too. We spend 6B a year on 'culture' which is crazy. Recognition of 'cultures' and language creates a mess. -
"The Canadian Broadcasting Company has commissioned eight episodes of “Little Mosque on the Prairie,” a television comedy about a fictional Muslim family struggling to find its place in Canada’s Western prairies." link I saw some previews for this and basically they show Canadians and dumb racist ignorate idiots and potray the Muslims as these educated, under employed, perfect people that we should learn something from. The producer is an immigrant Pakistani muslim in Canada with an agenda that only the CBC will cator to. Now, her and her staff are living off my tax dollars which I really don't appreciate. I feel that the CBC has far, far overstepped it's bounds and needs to become a 'news only' network or seomthing along those lines. This tax spending is of interest to a minority group, not in the interest of Canadians as a whole. I feel less and less of a citizen of Canada.

Yes. It's clearly not in his favor. It's become a poltical issue now. Lol.. is that a quote from the Quran?

It is astonishing how many of my otherwise knowledgeable university peers don't know this. Id say about 80% in my experience don't know this. Out of those 80% I can say that an overwhelming majority (if not all) do not support the war, and when I ask one further and describe the importance of contracts, they usually give me, "there is a better way" or "I do not agree with that". Of course I live in the Toronto area so maybe my results should be expected to be more like 95%. These people... Educated? Sometimes. Opinionated? Yes. That's the thing. Lefties, students, and other emotionally charged people don't care to bother themselves with the fact. They just use emotions and idealism. They also like to wave around their school flag to show they are elite and somehow their say is morer important then everyone elses. I find people in Canadian academia to be the most un-experienced, idealogical, out of this world, self rightous, elite wanna-be's on the face of this planet. They have a love on for the UN, Natives, and gay rights. I don't get it. I'm just glad i'm finished and done school. I hope to never go back to those group of whining idiots.

There's tons of people from Sudan in Montreal when I was there. They have many kids and seem to be a social assistance.

I don't care. people kill people. Low quality poeple are coming into Canada. What part of that factual equation don't you understand? lol. No. Immigrant parent need to not come here in the first place unless a company sponsors them to work. After their permit expires, they must leave. They can take Arar with them also.
-
Great post by the way. It's rare someone posts numbers to back up their arguments. All that's happening is we're letting low quality people wander into our country. We encourage this, and these same people vote Liberal. That is why we do it. We are the only country on the face of the planet that litteraly lets anyone fill out an application and come here with no job prospects and access to full services. Thus, just 'anyone' is coming here. These are low quality poeple IMO and should not be here unless a company sponsors them in. There should also be NO family sponsorship at all, under any circumstances.

Harper's foreign and social policy vs. fiscal
mikedavid00 replied to BC_chick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes. I noticed that on a quick look and just disregarded the numbers. Atleast for once in his life he gave a cite though. Incorect of course. -
I think a majority on this forum are siding with the enemy and would actually place their lives above yours. They also find little value in what you are doing. I want to let you know that you guys have my full respect and and true heros. Just letting you know. Yup. Since reading, I notice that the majority of regular posters on this forum didn't give 2 damns to respond to someone putting his life on the line for his country.

Racial Treatment of Natives in Canada
mikedavid00 replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
But that's the problem. It's up to the natives to keep their culture alive, not our gov't and my tax dollars. If you give an inch, they will take a mile. No special recognition for anyone. A country of equality is what is needed. -
Canada still mum on the Saddam execution
mikedavid00 replied to BC_chick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The whole Lebannon issue caused Harper to nose dive in the polls. His advisors have learned a lesson and I think they were just trying to keep their mouths shut not to offend anyone. I don't think anyone agrees with a hanging. It is done because this is what the Quran dictates. Same with chopping off arms, being buried alive, etc. -
Racial Treatment of Natives in Canada
mikedavid00 replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes. Canada has in the last several decades become an extremely racist country that gives preferential treatment to minorities in order to keep the Liberal party of Canada in power. The natives are another minority group that was created to get votes. The US doens't have these problems. No we aren't. The CBC, Liberal party of Canada, and lefties would like us to be a country of minorities. This does nothing but secure votes for a political party. This is what makes 'canada', 'canada'. This also helps secure power for a particular political party. I agree. What you are proposing is equality, and not racsism. Promoting multiculturalism, results im racism. Canada is an extrememly racist country which favors minorities, not majorities. Again, all this does is secure votes for a particular poltical party. Yes I know. But natives aren't voting conservative. We give favors to those who vote Liberal. (yes, it is a poltical party issue as far as natvies are concerned). Beleieve me, if I was priminister, I would move Canada's military in and forcefully remove any protesters and abolish any native rights. Of course, this doesn't get your party many votes from academia, other minorities, and natives. Of course you will. There are certain things that you are allowed to talk about, and those that you are not allowed to talk about. If you speak against Liberal values, you will have some sort of label placed on you. I agree. Go try and convince Canadians of that. When you recognize a specific bloodline, religion, culture, etc, it does nothing promote racism which is a negative for all of us. -
Same here. Even if he was tortured, it's his fault for associating with terrorists and REPEATEDLY going back to the country WHICH HE FLED FROM (so he tells our refugee officials). Little girls and boys are beaten, molested THEIR WHOLE LIVES and those kids get messed up. Arar get's supposedly 'tortured' with no visible scars, and now he has a website, huge legal team, and wants to be a millionair off my tax dollars. I say, GO TO HELL ARAR. ROT THERE AND LEAVE CANADA. GET OUT!
-
People don't like to answer that question of course. Us as Canadians will absolutely say or do anything to defend him. I've posted and researched extensively on Arar. He's someone who I consider an 'undesriable' and should be expelled from Canada. The RCMP's report to me is irrelevant and unprofessional. It's a poltical report. Why is our gov't funding a website just for Arar? This is all nonsense. ANY important thing that poeple should know about this issue lays outside the report. Arar burns me up inside. He's taking everyone for a ride and getting rich off Canadian tax payers. Immigrants already know these sorts of games, I don't know why everyone is so gullable. My soon to be father in law called Arar a 'liar trying to get rich'. He's read about there family, he knows what they're about. They are about lying to get into Canada, collecting welfare cheques, using $100,000's of services, trying to get into our poltiics, and now has a legal team trying to get rich of Canadian tax payers. Was he torchered? The fact is, we don't know and the evidence weighs HEAVILY against him. If he was, was it our fault? Again, the evidence weighs against Canada having involvment of this as the US stated it was for their own reasons that he was sent there and it's the US's own reasons he's still on the security list. Nobody really cares about the people right now living with hepatitis from that tainted blood scandal. meh.. forget about them. don't give them any money. BUT ARAR!! LETS DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO PEG HIM AS A HERO AND DEFEND THIS PEICE OF TRASH.

School and media told me to go left when I was younger. That's what I was. I graduated to the School of life. That school revealed certain truth's in life and taught me to go far right right. I would say Left = non-functioning idealism based off emotion. Right = tried and true realism. I'm very right wing, but also extremely caring for my fellow citizens. I am nationalistic to the core. I believe gov't is really the people and I no longer believe politicians have the power or intelligence to govern on behalf of the people. I like the idea of Canadians being able to vote on propositions and laws. I do not trust 1 persons idealisms to run our country from a top down dictatorship style. This style of gov't has proven not to work post ww2 in Canada thus we should be realisitic, admit we are a work based north american society (not a culture based society like India), and move to a democratic, American style of gov't so things like 2-tier healtchare, lower taxes, and fixing immigration can be achieved.
-
The difference between me and libs like you, is that i have already researched and studied other countries immigration policies. Canada is the ONLY country that litterly lets poeple fill out an applicatoin and gain enterance. Why don't you go learn something for once, get some facts, and see how really difficult it is to get into another country.

Harper's foreign and social policy vs. fiscal
mikedavid00 replied to BC_chick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I agree. It's sad too that people actually by into lefty 'idealism'. Treudau, Rae, Ignatieff, etc. They all have one thing in common; they act on hunch, not experience, and dictate their bright ideas onto us. Of course, this is not a very good way to run a country. Maybe a small business that will eventually fail, but not an entire country. -
I don't leave here because I can't. The immigration system in all other countries is far too strong to let a guy like me in. Make no mistake, if I could leave this country I would have a long, long time ago. I can say that through my life and families life, we have all helped build this country through over my over 20 years of paying taxes, but I don't feel this place is 'home' anymore. This is not the Canada I grew up in.
-
Because their immigration system is setup to keep people OUT. That includes me. I just don't have 'what it takes' to join the US. I agree. And that's good for them. I guess you can wave the Canadian flag around non stop and shout out pride while your fellow citizen dies waiting for a surgery. But who cares about that, lets give a refugee $37,000,000 and show the world what Canada is made of. You guys do that, I'll move to the state of Ohio.
-
Good luck on that one. The political will isn't there to do this and it will never happen. Only private companies can run things with low cost and efficient at the same time. You have idealism, not reality. We lost the healthcare system. Let's admit we can't fix it and do what it takes to make it better. The gov't of Canada is NOT the answer. That's where I disagree with Argus.
