Liberal Khan to cross floor to Tory backbench
mikedavid00 replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Bingo. -
Keep in mind they are in a minority position and are trying to win a majority. They have also been in power for 11 months. They can't fix all our problems over night with a minority gov't. Very tough, unpopluar actions will have to take place for them to fix our country. These actions they cannot campaign on. It could change for a nosedive down if Dion and his lunatics get in power. Martina and Chretien were very fiscally conservative. I don't see anything of the like with any of the top Libearls at this point in time. They can't promise a new direction because they will scare voters off and the CBC will see to that. Any environmental plan will be an 'Alberta tax' and this is what Dion is looking for. New taxes in Alberta will mean high cost for consumers and possibly downsizing resulting in loss of jobs. Harper is in the mode of trying to make 'everyone happy'. When he wins a majority i'm sure they old reform core values will come out.

Mak it go away! Plug your ears! Hear no evil see no evil! Now get your head in the sand and hear the voices of the CBC telling you the environment is important. I'll focus on realitites.

CBC to air comedy "Little Mosque On The Prairie"
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This guy on another forum said: I'm waiting for the CBC to show "The Little Church in Mecca". That would be equally fantasist. As I've always said, the Islamic takeover of Canada will have it's good side: No more "Little Gay Steam Baths in Moosejaw Public Schools" and stuff like that. Let's look on the bright side. Another one: yeah yeah, Islam is sooo funny. Islam really is for everybody, why not try it? Islam "As Seen ON TV" will soon be preached at a local school near you. Very funny. haha. No reference to the fact that women are treated worse than dirt in strict Islamic countries. Right, I forgot. The basis of an Islamic country and the basis of Islamofascim is NOT Islam. Right. Muslims who identify with Islam and the Koran are really not part of the things that are going on in Islamic countries and countries that are besieged by Islamofascism. Very funny, haha. Leave it to the CBC to totally miss the mark again. Never speak out against Mohammed, Islam or anything Islamic. Instead promote Islam with a funny attitude to the dumb, idiotic Canadians so dumbed down by the hedonistic fun loving always fun wanting culture. Fun fun fun. Very funny, haha. -
CBC to air comedy "Little Mosque On The Prairie"
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
My prediction: it will a fairly lame show marred by bad acting and not so funny jokes. Nobody will find anything that offensive in it but it will attract a small but loyal audience of people who find the concept interesting enough to overlook the acting/material problems. IOW: typical CBC fair. I think it's getting a lot more world publicity than you realize. There are people all over the world that will be watching via youtube and such. Look at the cartoon that was published and the response in the UK. Of course, the difference is, the son in the airport is a *lawyer* trying to potray the fact that muslims are high ranking people in our society. What do they potray about Canadians? That we're dumb, ignorant, and stupid racists that don't understand anything. On the whole they are not, and statistics pove that in Canada and Europe, they use more welfare and services than natives (fact). As a white minority, I feel that I should speak out against this because this show stereotypes me in a negative light which I feel is racist. -

MORE ON THIS TOPIC: "To ensure it doesn't cause unforeseen offense with "Little Mosque on the Prairie," the government-owned Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC) has hired an independent Muslim-Canadian consultant to comb through the sitcom's creative elements and suggest possible alterations." So basically our Tax Dollars are going to 'Muslim Consultants'??? F'CK THAT! GOD HARPER DO SOMETHING FOR GOD'S SAKE! FIX THE COUNTRY!! CBC to air comedy "Little Mosque On The Prairie"
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Do you think anyone here will actually change their opinion because the show has aired? Opinions will get worse. People will be very touchy on the jokes. Canadians died in 9-11 and we recently had terrorists caught in a plot to carry out attacks. These are not laughing matters firstly, second I don't like how Canadians are protrayed as dumb hicks. Yes controversy is good and I'm sure it's possible that the ratings will be the highest of the year for any CBC half hour show, but this is only becuase of controversy. The social climate in Canada does not reflect the light harted nature of Islam and making fun of each other the way this show is doing. We are currently experiencing a lot of problems that are very real to Canada and this show isn't funny, nor is it helping the situation. It just 'feels' wrong. -
Best Prime Ministers Canada never had?
mikedavid00 replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Preston suffered from Joe Clark disease. He didn't have the killer instinct necessary for plitics. He could have held the Liberals to a minority in 1997 over the flooding in Manitoba in that election. Had he done that he wouldn't have been forced out before the next election, Chretien probably would have and Preston may have become Prime Minister as a result. If Martin was as bad a Prime Minister in the late 90s as he was in the 2000s the Liberals probably would have lost the next election after he took power. Yeah I remember that flood. Remember Chretien posing for the cameras while he put up some sandbags litterly for 5 min and then left. That was truly pathetic. Let's take a look at a newspaper from India and see what they said about manning: Here's manning when he was running visiting Punjab and explaining why he's visiting. Even in India they are familiar with our politics and the Liberals: "The second reason is that a majority of our 55 MPs come from the western hemisphere of Canada. It is this area which has a large population of immigrants from Asia. "The third and the last reason has been Indo-Canadian trade. In India, trade is being liberalised. We are here to familiarise ourselves with the ground realities and economic conditions in the subcontinent," Mr Manning said. The Canadian delegation has a special reason to visit India and Punjab. As much as 70 per cent of the Indian-Canadians are of Punjabi origin. In fact two of the MPs of the Reform Party, Mr Gurmant Singh Grewal and Mr Deepak Ubhrai are Punjabis. "In my constituency, Sikhs presented me a picture of the Golden Temple besides a set of books about the history of the Sikhs," says Mr Manning. Talking about the initial image of party as "racist and anti-immigrants", Mr Manning said there had been a "deliberate attempt on some of our opponents to label this like that." "What we had been propagating is that race should not be a factor to determine the grant of immigration. The intake of immigrants should be tight so as to suit the economy and requirements of the country. Canada has a majority of immigrants. In our party, we have leaders from different ethnic communities," asserted Mr Manning. Because he wanted to do what was right and fair for Canada, he got labeled as anti-imigrant and lost IMO. I know Harper has learned from this. And I hope Dion loses in the polls from this. Immigrants are extremely paranoid when you threaten the prospects of their relatives coming over. I beleive that this point it's the immigrant vote that will determine the majority gov't with the Conservatives and I feel Harpers making the right moves. -
Immigrants sending babies back home
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Go West my friend. It's only East of Manitoba that suffers from the welfare unemployment disease. Immigrants are not coming here to do labor. They want the high cast life style they are used to back home. The don't want a humble life. Don't you feel it's time we let needy companies sponsor people in that are willing to work? We wouldn't be having these problems. And they held a job fair in NB. I believe 15,000 people showed up. Getting people to leave their home is another story. I am perfectly willing to leave this Islamic Canadian state I am currently living in. (watching pakistani kids playing cricket down the street and women wearing buka's doesn't exactly feel like home). But I've looked at the job listings and there doesn't seem to be not even a single job there for us. Also the houses around Calgary seem very old, small, and far over priced considering how much the jobs are paying. I feel there is a part time, manual labor shortage currently, and there is also one here too. But that's all there is. I feel the 'trickle up' effect has already passed and eventually there will be a bust in the Alberta market. God willing immigrants will start to land in Alberta. It's my dream that 60% of them go over there. Then you'll see Alberta lose political power, become liberal, and turn to hell. -

Preston Manning hands down. -
Hehe.. really funny. But yes labor is needed. But it's only that: labor. I agree. We need people here on work permits to do the labor jobs that Albertans cannot do. This is why Mexican's are pretty much 'allowed' to do what they are doing. They are there to work and do the jobs that Americans cannot do. And the word 'wont' do is a bad word to use. There are only so many poeple to go around. When there are a lot of jobs, those who are underemployed will be employed where they should be. Thus, -the grad who is working at a call center will get a real office job. -the mom who's works at Home Depot and only has her highschool will then get that call center job. -the Tim Hortons worker who's a drop-out will then get the Home Depot job that pays more. The issue becomes, who takes the Tim Hortons job? No one. This is where work permits come into play. And these IMO are where the job shortages in Alberta are. I just don't beleive the hype of the job situation there. I have no doubt that there has been a trickle-up effect in ALberata society like I listed above. But we need labor. Mexicans are more than happy to come on permits and work these jobs. WHAT WE DON'T NEED are 'high-cast' university educated south asians who think they God's gift to Canada and deserve a white collar job as soon as they land off the plane. This is what we currently letting into the country. These people do NOT work the labor jobs becuase they feel they are too good for this type of work and it looks bad on the family. And to be further honest, I know I'm going to get a lot of flack saying this, but poeple from Asia/South Asia just aren't hard workers. They demand intillectual office jobs and addicted to schooling and chasing oppertunity. They are litterly obsessed with gov't jobs only and would rather not work if they didn't get one. Portragues, Italians, Mexicans, Polish, Spanish - All very hard laborers and workers. They are very hard workers and will work jobs that we need them to work. They also integrate in well with our society. My fiances father is an intellectual who gets his letters published in the post, globe and mail, CBC etc. He tells me I should take night courses. He doesn't own a hedge trimmer to trim his hedges. Never learned how to use a hammer or screw driver. Poeple who can afford the flight over here and landing fees are the well to do in their respective countries. They have servants working in their kitchens and doing their laundry. They are high-cast in their societies. They could care less to move to Alberta and help out Canada. Again, we need to reformat our system, bring in people on work permits, and you will litterally see not one single muslim, asian, or south asian filling out one of these applications. You WILL see tons of mexicans filing to get here. Mexicans. The terrible mexicans that are Christian, have like the second lowest divorce rate in the world, enjoy great food, and have HOT daughters.

Yes it's made news in the UK, it's been in the NYtimes, and many other sources. Does this potray Canada in a positive light? Canadian tax payers are funding this program. I don't feel this show represents the social climate in our country. I think Canada finds Islam a very serious matter within Canada. I should actually put out a www.LittleMosqueStatement.ca "This is to inform the world that Canadians consider Islam in Canada a serious issue and our social climate in Canada does not reflect that of the publically funded TV program 'Little Mosque on the Prarie". This show has been promoted by and for special interest groups and are not in the interest of the citizens of Canada". Or soemting along those lines. Maybe I should actually do it.. because seriously.. Canada is not a hippy paradise where Christians, Sikh's, and Muslims all live together with no issues and sing koom-bi-ya by the fire. Canada is filled with ethnic, racial tensions between all parties involved and soon a breaking point will reach. All it will take is an incident to happen. Who knows, the show might cuase this. -
http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/business/topi...erorated-e.html Also remember that with the advent of payroll deductions, consumption taxes have easily become the most evaded taxes. It distorts the market and hurts people that play by the rules. That cash discount you got... ya... think about it. I swear coming to the GTA, EVERYONE evades taxes. You go to chinese resturaunts and they take cash only. No interact, no credit card. Just cash. Many resturaunts are like this. Go to any store, hotel, etc. Any immigrant owned place pretty much and they love cash only. All the contractors. everyone. Growing up in Ottawa you didn't even ask because they would think you're crazy and it would offend them if you dare ask to evade taxes.

That is not true. Plenty of working poor live in new houses here in Mississauga.

If i'm buying a used car or home from someone wich that person already paid GST when they bought it, I don't see why I have to re-pay the GST again for that item. This is theft on the gov't part and should be illegal.

I heard a pundit on the radio say that these sorts of things are supposed to be common place in parliment. It's just not done in Canada anymore. Dion is a French, Quebecer, Elitist. Khan said that he heard about this whole thing when all of a sudden he had journalists calling him asking 'what he was going to do'. He was like 'what?' This is how he found out about this. Nice going Dion. I'm really looking forward to the next polls. If Harper did the same he would be called and accused of being a racist by the CBC and other media. If this was a French guy in the Party, Dion would have spoken to him over a 5 course dinner with wine and discussed the issue. But dion wouldn't even TALK to the 'colored' person. That's just sad and speaks volumes about Dion. Come polls! Hurry! -
All that will happen are gangs from Pakistan will secure regions of Afganistan and then try to invade the central gov't. And the age old Islamic fight for power will continue - this is why I feel we should pull out of Afganistan. It's not worth our time. I'll say again we should not be letting citizens of those countries involved into Canada under any circumstances.
-
I do believe that Mushariff is bending over for the US. Also, keep in mind that he is in suclusion and has many groups out to do nothing but kill him for this reason. The people of Pakistan have too many extremests. Oh well, they're all coming here to Canada and UK to take advantage of our lax immigration and refugee policies.
-
Pakistan are the third largest group of Immigrants via country of origin and Liberal supporters in Canada. I don't think Canada is about to go into Pakistan. How about, we stop letting Pakistan into the UK and Canada. There's a crazy thought!

I actually disagree with that notion. It's a nice thought, not reality here in Canada.
