  1. They are looking at doing the same in Toronto. The UK can swallow the cost of this I believe and have the transit system to back it up. I don't think many Canadian cities can do the same thing. I have a solution. Let's lower gas taxes and build more road and subways to relieve traffic. And of course, there's one other MAJOR thing that we can do to reduce traffic... hmmm I wonder what that is..
  2. LOL!! YES!! That ones also a classic I can't believe I forgot it!! HEHE
  3. Lol. I guess you believe everything you read. I beleive in immigration via a functioning policy. Canada does not even have a real immigration policy. I think it was Australia that called our immigration policy 'Illogical' when they studied our system. We'll always need skilled and unskilled labor. But our current program does not intend to fill this demand. It strives to get 70 year olds in the country and into our hospitals as soon as possible. Just as long as eveyrone votes Liberal in our broken and corrupt society. Please see:
  4. Don't go into numbers. I will shoot them back down and prove them cherry picked and false.
  5. What are you talking about. The proof in the puding backed me up.
  6. Yes which is racism. And I'm against racism. I'm for equality.
  7. See the one person that agree's with me is himself a second gen or came here when he was younger.
  8. That's laughable. Think about it. He attends a wedding with his co-worker. No skin colour is invovled. The tables turn a year later and he secretly invites someone else of another religion who has been working there for 2 months. The only thing in common is that they have brown skin. That is racism in it's purest, most innocent form. Why don't you admit that these parents are xenephobic and racist? I never had problems with parents from Lebanon (Christian), Jamaica, Jewish, Greek, Italian, Portruguese, and definiately not Irish, Scottish, English etc. Bring up our top immigrat countries (China, Inda, and Pakistan), and you will see a night and day difference in the attitudes of the families. Have you ever been to the UK?
  9. And you let your emotions and beliefs get in the way of numbers. In Quebec if you are French you can't get a job easily becuase many require that you write English at a business level. Thus many French in Quebec lose jobs needlessly to Anglo's. I understand that. In Quebec if you are Anglo you can't get a job easliy because many require that you write French at a business level. Thus many Anglo's lose the job needlessly. Thus we have to look at billingualism or maybe getting more extreme in perserving French language. Those situations are complex. Letting in mass, mass, mass amounts of people when we have no jobs, healthcare, daycare, or spots open schools is a no brainer I believe it to be the cause of almost all of our modern problems.
  10. I've never once in my life met a white person who didn't specifically go out of his way not to hang around someone of colour. The same cannot be said about the second generations. It's said to see this white guy invite this ethnic co-worker to his wedding, a year later it's his wedding, and no invite. Who gets the invite? Yes. Another south asian who has been working there for 2 months. That was sad. And the guy didn't even know that he wasn't invited. I keep my mouth shut though. But that guy who was a Liberal should have known becuase that is rascism in the pure form. After all, we can't have a white person degrade my wedding! And to think that people here ENCOURAGE this kind of racism is just unreal.
  11. That sure sounds pretty hate-y. But what's important is not that you hate him, but that you have no good reason for it. MD00 you are being accused of being hate-y for disregarding someone by a poster whose signature is the people he ignores? That's all you need to think of when disgregarding Figleaf's post. I never said I disgregard the people in my sig. I just said that I disregard him and would like to see him leave Canada. This forum is a form of entertainment in the end and it's only our opinions. In Canada we have no real say in how our money gets spent or what our leaders do. So opinions here should not be taken very seriously and with a grain of salt. When Argus posts, he's right 100% of the time. Same with Betsy and others I forgot to mention. But who's listening? Is she going to present her viewpoint so we can maybe change our mind and vote on propositions that will make a difference? No. We don't have the luxuries that they do in the US. We can't make descisions. So this forum ultimately is used for entertainment by us posters. Now just imagine that there was a proposition that we would be required to vote on like "Prop 218: Should we move to a work permit based immigration system so as only to allow people to enter Canada if they have an employer sponsoring them in" Then the discussions would take a whole different tone. But most here don't think Canadians can think for themselves so we need our elected officials to do the thinking for us. Look how that worked out.
  12. Can you guess why we joined WWII? An old saying from the newsgroups back in the day: The first person who brings up Hitler loses the debate.
  13. Why is it "imagined" culture? We all grow up Canadian and we all speak the same language, but when we go home there are different customs, traditions and food that await us all... aren't there? That's just the thing. If you think food and customs are culture then it's immagined. Yes I like to eat all the foods of the world myself. I watch many foriegn films. Probably more than most here. But that's all it is. I'm Canadian because I was born here and that shouldn't be a bad thing. What is a bad thing is having groups of people who are born here hanging out in groups because they share the same skin colour. I have a friend that went to Australia for law school (because she couldn't get in here) and she's Indo-Canadian. So she has pics on her profile and such and everyone there was overwelmingly white. Everyone. But NO! She just HAD to find a girl with the same skin colour as hers and become friends with her. In all the pics they'll be standing by each other. Ghettoizing for no other reason than their skin color. It's pretty sad. "Omg your desi? So am I. Let's be best friends because we share the same skin colour". That promotes racism which I am against.
  14. Yes they did and my Grandfather joined the army and faught in WWII. I would include Irish or Scotish or German but they don't ghettoize and pretend that they are not Canadian. They don't disclude others from their families and don't pretend they are something that they are not.
  15. He's pandering for votes in Toronto. In Toronto there are gun crimes and homeless everwhere and it's a concern to many that live here. He's just trying to jump on the bandwagon.
  16. Nothing like throwing out a dozen or so stereotypes and expressions of disdain and then setting a new tone with a statement like that immediately afterward. Are you denying that second gen kids born here don't constantly bring up their immagined culture?
  17. Why? Explain that statement further. Think about what you just said.
  18. What?? You should ask THEM to make US part of THEIR families. That's where the real problem is.
  19. Many of the time I dislike speaking to visible minorities. Not immigrants. I'm talking about people that are BORN here in Canada. The reason why is because they cling onto something they don't understand or have not grown up in. It was cool when I was younger. Now it's just a pain in the butt. "Yo man, I'm <insert nationality>, of course I like hot food". "In the end, I know my parents want to see me with a <intsert nationality>." "We went to <insert country> and I really want to go back". "Are there any <their nationality>'s at your new job". "You can't add me as a friend, your not the same colour as me". (that's more of thinking) "I don't like white people" "What girls are ho's/whores" - the most common thing i've heard through the years. You know it's alway's funny seeing people pretending they're Italian. Trying to cling to something that they are not. They don't know how to speak Italian, they look white, they don't act/look/move like real Italians from Italy. But their last name ensures that they name their child Bruno or something dumb like that just so they can get their jolies. While this seems harmless, it comes at a price. Not only do they center their feelings of 'like' of their own kind, they also dislike kids other than theirs. They will discriminate, be predjudice, and exclude you if you aren't the same nationality. You won't get into their circles of friendship. Italians I find the most pathetic because they are not even visible minorities half of the time and cannot speak Italian. They have little to do with Italian culture becuase they are not from Italy. The south Asians have the most deep rooted bagage BY FAR and is probably a whole other post. Through the years I have found most of them to be xenephic, discriminiotry, and racist. Yes the kids born here. I have whitnessed it too many times to count. I guess my problem is that I'm against racism and prejudice. I feel everyone should be treated fairly regardless of their colour or immagined culture. I feel the whole thing of calling myself a nationality other than Canadian is just uncool. It's not fun. It doesn't lead to anything. It only creates problems. Stop clinging to a lesser place in order to fill some wacky void that Trudeu and our public school system told you that you should have. Because I'll let you in on a secret: your own relatives from the old country and your own parents don't consider you the 'real thing' so don't try to act like you are becauses your not. Stop posing. It creates racism. If you were born in Canada, call yourself a Canadian and embrace that.
  20. NO. The data you cited earlier in support of that date was for Muslim population overtaking Christian population around the whole world, not Canada. Yes I was wrong about that because I got that link off a blog and didn't bother reading it. But 2025 is the time that Canada will have a majority of immigrants... or visible minorities.. can't remember now.
  21. That was an excellent post. I'm glad someone is noticing what is beginning to happen here in Canada.
  22. 60 Million got spent just on the 19 month trial. That's JUST the trial. Sorry. I'm tired of wasting money on this. We all know they did it. The Sikh's in BC know they did it, the community knows, officials in India know, people here in toronto know. WE ALL KNOW. What do they families need to hear? The trials over. Please guys, stop wasting my money. I do NOT send my money to Ottawa for it to be spent on this. Forget it. Our political system is in collapse. Harper has turned out to be a failure that I no longer support officially after the green house gas scam. They are chasing votes like any other party and you can't blame them either. Canada is corrupt now officially. They threw the Christmas tree out of the courthouse didn't they? If it offends a group of 2000 Muslims and they are out on the street, you'll see the end of Valentines day I assure you. Yes I'm going to Montreal in two weeks. I don't travel far. I stay in Canada and work and pay taxes.
  23. I don't hate him. I just don't feel that he should be in our poltical system or in the country. I disgregard him completely as a person. (Kind of like he would do to you if you tried to get close to his sister).
  24. Who cares. As a tax payer I'm tired of funding this thing. I feel emberassed as a Canadian over this whole thing. The inquiry of course, how we are so dumb regarding this whole thing, and mostly, how and why we let these stone-age people into our country. Ah yes Trudeau that's why. But I'm tired of paying for this. I'm a tax payer and to be further honest, I don't care about the families of the victims either because over the years they have used this inquiry and a false sense of comfort. They have no lives. One daughter did a classical indian dance to show her sadness over this thing.. let's all forget about the fact that these were little children that don't remember their parents who died. It's for the families own good that we put an end to this. If they wanted justice, they should have moved to the US. Ah yes the US wouldn't let them in. Hey man, I'm in the same sht hole country as they are in. If something happens to me via illness or justice I'll get screwed just like they will. However, I will NOT waste their tax dollars. let it go man. Get on with life and realize this country is like the place your parents came from. After all, that's what you want it to be.
  25. He's human trash that shouldn't be in Canada. That''s all he is in my opinion. What the hell he's doing in our policial system at all is beyond me. And the Liberals no less. Man what's wrong here? Ah yes, Canada declining into the 3rd world.
