I want to, and think we need to. If you still believe in our federal politicians, then there's no saving you.

Because it will allow us to work in the US much easier. It will also destroy our current immigration system which id *deserprately* needed. The majority, or large portion of violent crimes in our cities are directly due to our lack of immigration policy. T Holy Jeeze. FOR ONCE why don't you go look at their damn policy and see how it keep people OUT unless you have a company sponsor you in. The only people they are letting 'in' are mexicans because IMO they are needed. Holy jeeze. The US does thing for it's self interest. We are the ones that do things on idea's and faith like pixie fairies.

That will be coming when we unionize with the US. The plans have been in the works for a long time. And where would these poverty sricken people from the third world work? Is this really ignatieff posting?

Yes, Suzuki has a lot of sway. If they can get him on side that would be a huge plus. That *could* be enough to swing them a majority. Yes, it could swing a majority if Canadians outside of Alberta actually believe that Stephen Harper, the man who proposed to Ralph Klein that a firewall be built around Alberta to protect it from an "aggressive and hostile" federal government, will seriously follow through with a plan endorsed by Suzuki. And if Canadians actually believe that, they'll believe anything that Harper promises...or Dion promises...or Layton promises...or Santa Claus promises. I think you guys seriously, seriously, over estimate the fact that people in Canada don't give a damn about Suzuki. Again last week they tried to do a discussion on the environment and people called in saying it wasn't there #1 issue. I think one lib wacko called up trying to claim the world was going to end, but people said it was probably on the bottom of their priority. They don't even discuss it now because people simply don't care to call in and talk about it. Any environmental plan is simply out to take money from Alberta - end of story. Following Suzuki's plan, takes money away from Canadians - end of story. Suzuki is a liberal organization to promote his self interest and person belief. Nothing more. I wonder if I can pull up a quote of Suzuki discussing Global Cooling where he claims that we had better 'act fast' or we'll be in an ice age. -
Oda not welcome at provincial meeting on women's issues

Yeah life sucks sometimes. An abortion is a ghost that will haunt you your whole life. Don't think otherwise. So is a forced pregnancy Again, life sucks sometimes. I protect the rights of the unborn child as a citizen of Canada. It takes a community to raise a child so no I don't endorse killing life. I value it. I guess that must be the crazy, subconsion morals I learned from my Catholic highschool. -

Poverty in Canada - Damn Statistics

Yes. And someone working a lofty job in San Paulo Brazil will say the same thing. People always credit their sucsessus to their own hard work. The country you live in determines whether your hard work pays off. For instance, if you are from Montreal, have never worked a day in your life, and come to Toronto, you will get hired for the simple fact you are billingual. It's that simple. You will start at $37k. These people did not have to work hard, the *country* provided a climate for her to surpass all the others who have worked their whole lives and still aren't making that money. One didin't have to work hard to get it, the other did. IMO, the whole point of a 'country' is to have the abliltiy to set a climate where people can get good and decent life with little effort or work (ie: USA). Those who take that extra strep, spend thousands on schooling, and have many years experience in a skilled field (myself and a portion of the population), should be 'entitled' to a better living. Canada's crisis is the latter scenario has become a pre-requisite in order to have a basic, hand to mouth living. And yes I believe this to be almost entirely to immigration. Let go of your ego and be honest that the country is partially to blame when a person making an 'average' income is living hand to mouth. -
Poverty in Canada - Damn Statistics

It's these things that help our economy and create jobs (directly or indirectly). The argument of not spending is self defeating because if we were all cheap and didn't spend, there would be no economy and we'd be third world. -
Laughable. You are talking about illegals and refugees. You never answered the question. Yes I am aware that the EU has this problem. Yes I am aware that the EU will be 10% Islamic by 2020. I know their problems very well. But comparing that to us is apples and oranges. We are pretty much like Australia - nice and isolted from the third wold. We are so fortunate to live far, far away from the 3rd world. Even the US can't say this. We should be spoiled and enjoy a far, far, higher quality of life than we do. Look at where we are located, the resouces we have, the small size of our country. Again though, you proved nothing. Countries let people in via work permits. Canada is amongst the only country that allow people to fill out an application, and then wander in from the airport with no job prospects. I wish other countries did this. If they did, I would have moved LONG ago!

There are more mosques than windmills in Holland.

Ok. Before we go any further, please show me another country that lets people just walse in with no job prospects. I'm waiting.

Exactly. In the US you have to go to an abortion clinic and pay for the abortion yourself. If you can't afford the pay I beleive that there are burseries funded by womens groups and private organizations that will pay the $300 to get it done. The tax payers aren't on the hook. -

Well you don't have to force the child out, she can carry the baby full term where she can decide whether she wants the baby or not and let the state take over the care for the child. I feel that the killing a person with rights is completely wrong. If the woman is raped, then she can give the child away if she doesn't want it. And besides, don't people pay around $100,000 per child for adoption? -

I meant that in the context that she 'shouldn't have to' not be able to spend on things she likes. I mean small things like resturaunts and movies. I don't feel that someone with a degree and many years of work experience should be living hand to mouth like this and in poverty. Well.. i consider it poverty. I've been into countless houses where people had no furniture, or lived like students. Canada consumes more Kraft Dinner than anyone where else per capita in the world. Must meen something eh? I take a more idealistic approach to this. While I agree with this, I feel it's over all wrong. I think us as a country is keeping her poor. I don't feel it's her spending habbits, education, job, or anythign else that we are taking her money, inflating her housing costs, and putting her hard earned money in other peoples pockets. I dont think she's done anything wrong.. she just a victim of our country IMO. I think that's the wrong mindset to take on this issue. Your blaming the induvidual rather than the people who take her money away from her. I'm taking a more idealistic stance on this. -

I consider that baby to be a person who is entitled to their own rights as an individual regardless if it's in or out of the stomach. If the mother does not want to care for the child, then the state shall and take the baby away where it can be cared for by loving parents. -

The only one implying something is the author of this 'news' article. -
Not true. We are not sinking our entire economy into Afganistan. The US has put their federal debt on the line to go into Iraq. This is why Americans are unhappy. They also see that they are not able to change Islam. Before 9-11, Americans were not clued into Islam like they are today. There is no trying to chnage Islam thus they find the war useless and non winnable. It's a war against 'aliens from the stoneage' at this point and Americans aren't going to pay for it any longer. Regarding Canada, we don't really care enough about Afganistan to make or break our vote.

That was not my story, just someone who works with my fiance. She has 2 kids, single mom, and lives paycheck to paycheck. That's life of far too many Canadians. I feel bad for her. Again it's not me. Besides, you can't expect everyone to be perfect and frugal with their money. People should spend money on things that make them happy. We can't all be eating Kraft Dinner each night in order to manager out money. Your argument falls apart by blaming her spending habits. Self-hating ideoligy. She had her car break down..used car, then had to fix it or something, then had to pay her mortgage and feed her kids.. then her toilet broke and she couldn't afford to fix it so had to use the downstairs washroom. Her house costs in the mid $280k range due to immigration. In the US, her little semi would probably cost her.. i don't know.. $600 a month in mortage payments? Again, the story was not about me. I chose the route of fixing my own toilet if it breaks. I'm a guy who thinks he can fix things. And immigrants file bankrupsty and go in debt ALL the time. Don't kid yourself. Open an ethnic newspaper and you will see two things: Ads for immigration consultants, and ads for bankruptsy. And yes, Immigrants do have their priority straight - send money back hom to their country. -
Just about every one. Including most second and third world countries. I have no idea what your talking about. Dude. Canada is about the ONLY country that lets people walse in. We almost have no borders. Hehehe.. again, most immigration systems are like Japan. I think you are younger. It's ok if you are. When you get older, you'll become conservative I can tell. Simply not true. While there can be fraud, it's very unlikely. It's like saying that there can be fraud claiming other peoples kids are citizens. While it does happen on a daily basis here in Canada, it's a very, very small amount of of the total immigrants that get let in. Canada is a country built of 'special cases' it seems. The only special case the US has is with celebratites. They have their own citizenship requirements. For instance, when the spice girls hit big, they get put under a very priveledged 'celebrity' status of work permit. This is the ONLY special case I beleive in. Please research the American system. They let in 10,000 people a year to do their share in multiculturalism. This has NOTHING to do with immigration. I wanted to apply for the lottery when I was younger but Canada amongst most other countries are excluded. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? Listen, almost every country in the world will only let you in if you have a job lined up. It's not an 'idea' of mine, it's reality. Canada is one of the ONLY exceptions. And believe it or not, Canada is amongst the one of the FEW countries in the world that are actively persuing immigrants.
-
That is simply false.
-
That is simply not true. Your using your emotions to determine what the 'would do'. The fact is, there is a solid system to get in through refugee status. If you don't get in, it's becasue your not willing to lie enough. Lol.. I'll just stop reading here. And houses in Canada are made with gingerbread and gumdrops.
